Kevin was the first one to wake up, and the last one to fall asleep. As he awoke from Betty's bed, he decided to reply to Joaquin's text.

He smiled and decided to shake Betty and Veronica awake. Betty yawned and awoke slowly, Veronica did so too.
"Morning girllsss, Pops'?" Kevin suggested, externally awake. Veronica looked puzzled as she sat up with her massive bed-head.

"We literally just woke up Kev" She chuckled, Kevin rolled his eyes and went over to his draw and pulled out a pair of jeans, and a casual shirt as well as his brown jacket. He got changed quickly and as he went to brush his teeth, as b&v got changed.

When they were ready, they walked out the door and started to walk to Pops'. It was a cold, October day, so Kevin borrowed one of Betty's beanies that she has stolen off Jughead, it was just plain and grey. Although that, it went nicely with his outfit.

Veronica turned to Betty as they walked.
"Is there some chemistry between you and Jughead Betty?" She questioned, a faint blush started to spread across her face, Kevin chuckled.

"Awwwww"

"Shut up Kevin" She joked, He just smiled as they got to the familiar setting of Pops'. Although, there were police cars outside and parked up at Pops', one of them was the Sheriff's car. Kevin spotted his dad and raced over.

"Dad? What's going on?" The boy questioned his father, who looked at him and shook his head.

"Some guy broke into the flowers shop place down the road, stole bouquets of roses- which are quite expensive." Sheriff Keller explained to his son, who just nodded.

"So Pops' is open?" He asked.

His dad responded with a nod.

Kevin saluted his dad, before running back to b&v and telling them the crime story before walking into Pops' and ordering.

"That's strange.." Betty started, Kevin nodded in agreement as he sipped his peanut butter milkshake. Veronica continued;

"I mean, If I were to break into somewhere, I would break into a jewellery store" Veronica joked, Betty laughed and they turned to Kevin, who smiled along with them.

"I think we have a matter that needs to be discussed" Veronica smirked and looked to Kevin. He blushed slightly.
"Oh my gosh V, what about me now?" He chuckled and sipped his milkshake.

"Kevin Keller, when is your birthday?" Betty sarcastically questioned him, he rolled his eyes and drank more of his milkshake. Veronica looked at Betty.

"To start, he doesn't hate his birthday" Betty started, Kevin pretended to not be listening to her. Veronica looked at her and continued listening.

"It was his 14th birthday, and it was me, him and Archie. We we're round his house, and Archie and I were begging him to come out-"

"Betty-." Kevin looked at her.

"So when it was dinner, we both sat next to him and kept on nudging him at these perfect moments, so then, he gave us this horrible look, and stood up, and told his whole family 'I'm gay.'" She told Veronica who's eyes were wide.

"Oh my gosh, aww" She looked at Betty, then Kevin. Betty smiled, but that smile faded when her and Kevin made eye contact. Kevin pushed the dribble left of his milkshake aside.

"No Veronica. Not 'aww'." He looked at them both, angry and sad. He pulled his bag up his shoulder and left. He stood there and rubbed his eyes for a moment, as that dreaded day came back into his mind, from years of trying to forget.

The dinner table became silent, as a shaking, sweating Kevin Keller stood there, infront of his friends, his family, his parents, his mom. Suddenly, there was a round of applause. This obviously came from Betty and Archie, who had been pestering him since they stepped foot in the Keller household. A split second after Kevin looked over at his friends, another applause came; this time from his father.

Kevin's mom gave him an evil glare, both of them, as she rose from the dinner table. "Say that again, Kevin Keller." She snarled at her son, who just gulped in fear as he still stood.

"I-I'm Gay.." He repeated again, quieter then before. His mom rolled her eyes and looked at their family; "Excuse me." And she tucked her chair in to go upstairs. To pack. To leave.

After moments of confusion and worry, Sheriff Keller stood up and looked at the family, all out of their seats and whispering. He then looked at Kevin who was crying in Betty and Archie's arms. His mother returned downstairs with her bags and went over to Kevin.
Kevin pulled away from the hug and looked up at his mother, terrified.

"I hope you're happy, Kevin." She spat. "Your 'phase' has torn your family apart." She snapped, a tear fell down Kevin's cheek as she walked over to Sheriff Keller. She looked at him.
"How can you be so, happy over him Thomas!?" She questioned, Sheriff Keller replied back.
"Just get out." He snapped. His mom took off her wedding ring and placed it in his hand. She then continued to walk out the door and slam it shut, along with the rest of the family. It was just them two now, and that was the last time Kevin saw his mom.

"Why did Kevin storm out like that!??" Veronica questioned Betty, looking out the booth window at Kevin, sitting alone on a bench in the Pops' carpark. Betty sighed and looked at Veronica.

"After he told his family, his mom left them- it was horrible for him.." Betty explained to her, Ronnie was wide-eyed.

"Oh my god.."

The two walked over to Kevin, who was still looking down at the pavement. Betty sighed.
"Kev, I am so sorry for mentioning it" Betty apologised, He looked up at her and gave a weak smile.

"It's okey B, it was a long time ago anyway" Kevin stood up, they started to walk out of the car park.

"Shopping?!" Veronica asked, the two turned to her.

"Yes." Her aesthetic best friend exclaimed.

"Absolutely!" Her favourite gay replied.
