Within that same day, my secret identity was put on the news. Soon enough, my parents found the truth.
"Marinette, how could you keep a huge secret like this from us? We thought you were more open about things. We're so hurt," my mother said...
In my dreams.
How the reveal to my parents really happened was when they heard it on television, they dropped what they were doing and screamed out of excitement.
"Our daughter is Ladybug!" My mom screamed happily.
"I can't believe we didn't find out sooner! Our own child is a superhero! Ladybug!" My father basically squealed.
"Y-You're Ladybug!" My mom pointed at me with a huge grin and a shaking finger.
"Yes, I am!" I smiled back, hugging them.
"Ladybug hugged us!" My father fanboyed.
I chuckled weakly and told them I needed to transform to check on the city. Without two doubts, they let me go. Soon, I saw that they were calling all their friends with the news.
When I left as Ladybug, I made sure to stick to heights and dark places where I couldn't be seen.
I couldn't believe everything was already crashing down. It had only been last night when I told my friends my biggest secret. Everyone is reacting exactly the same: screaming excitedly.
I hoped my parents would soon get over the excited stage and just ground me or something. I just needed a sense of normalcy.
I didn't expect this, but tears were already running down my mask and onto my cheeks. I was crying, but I didn't know why. Was I just overwhelmed?
I just needed to talk to Chat Noir. Hopefully he hadn't seen anything yet. I didn't want it to happen like this.
I caught a glimpse of him at the Eiffel Tower, so I made my way there.
"C-Chat?" I whimpered, sobbing.
"LB? What's the matter?" He asked, running over to hug me.
"H-Have you a-already found out?" I cried, looking up to face him.
His green eyes filled with concern and he pulled me to his chest.
"I know now that you're my princess, but I still care about you the same way," he told me, holding me close.
"If you want me to reveal, I completely understand. It's your choice, princess," he said gently.
"No, please don't. Not yet. I just need one thing that won't change, because everyone is acting like Marinette doesn't exist and only Ladybug does," I sobbed, burying my face into his cold leather suit.
"That's just plain silly. Marinette is the best thing about Ladybug. Marinette is the best thing, even without Ladybug. You know why, bugaboo? Because the mask is only a mask. You are always going to be Marinette, with or without that thing on your face," Chat sat me down.
I sighed shakily, just glad I would have one thing that wouldn't change: my kitty.
