"What's this?! We have a manager?! Finally!"

The red head shouted in bliss as he eyed me with excitement. I smiled nervously then bowed my head.

"Hi! I'm (L/N) (Y/N), and starting from today I'll be Shiratorizawa's manager. Please take care of me!", I introduced myself as the boys yelled about finally having a manager.

"Hey! I'm Tendou Satori, a second year!", the red head said as I smiled at him.

"It's nice to meet you, Tendou-senpai.", I said as he was delighted.

"Awww she called me senpai!~",  he squealed as he then hang an arm around the olive-brown haired boy's shoulder.

"And this one here is Wakatoshi-kun. I'm his best pal!", he said with a smile as Ushijima-senpai  just looked at me.

"It's nice to see you too, Ushijima-san.", I said as Tendou-senpai looksd at us with a confused expression.

"Oho? You two already got to know each other?", Tendou-senpai asked as I nodded my head.

"Well, we just saw each other last week at the milk bread shop but we didn't talk to each other.", he said as I hummed.

"Eh? That's it?", Tendou-senpai asked and I nervously smiled.

"Yeah.", I said.

"Also, you should've persuaded Oikawa to come to Shiratorizawa.", Ushijima-senpai blurted as I internally chuckled.

"You know what? That day, Toru won't stop blabbering on how you wouldn't stop telling him to come here... Oh yeah, he told me to tell you that he will never ever go here.", I said as Ushijima-senpai's expression was still the same while Tendou-senpai was laughing.

"So you're that pretty boy's... Girlfriend?", asked Tendou-senpai  as I chuckled then shook my head.

"Nah, I'm just his best friend.", I said as Tendou-senpai raised a brow.

"I thought that Iwaizumi guy is his best bud?"

"Actually, we were childhood best friends but I moved to Tokyo with my family for 7 years... We just moved back here last week.", I said as Tendou-senpai nodded.

"Oi Wakatoshi! Satori!"

We turned our heads to see a boy who has ash blonde hair and black tips, a boy with black hair in an undercut and thick triangular-shaped eyebrows, and a boy with an undercut and brown spiked-up hair.

"Yo! Semisemi! Reon! Hayato!", Tendou-senpai called as the three boys walked towards us.

"Oh? Where's Jin?"

"Soekawa couldn't make it today. He caught a cold.", the ash blonde boy said as he then turned to me and smile.

"Hi (L/N)-san, I'm Semi Eita and a second year!"

"I'm Ohira Reon. Also a second year."

"And I'm Yamagata Hayato, a second year."

The three introduced themselves as they flashed me a smile. I bowed my head in acknowledgment.

"It's nice to meet you Semi-senpai, Ohira-senpai, and Yamagata-senpai.", I said as they smiled at me.

"Man, I can't believe we finally have a manager.", Semi-senpai said with a grin as the boys nodded their heads in agreement.

"I know right? Well that's because those who tried to apply as managers are so persistent and they clearly lack knowledge when it comes to volleyball... Well, they're only going to apply just to see Wakatoshi-kun though.", Tendou-senpai said as I raised a brow.

"Is Ushijima-senpai really that popular?", I asked as Tendou-senpailooked at me confused.

"You don't know?", he asked as I shook my head.

"Actually, Wakatoshi here is one of the top three aces in Japan.", Semi-senpai said as I was surprised.

"He is?!"

"Yeah, and when you see him play I'm certain you'll get blown away by how strong his spikes are.", Yamagata-senpai said as Ushijima-senpai blinked at him.

"Why would she be blown away when I won't hit the ball in her direction?", he asked as Yamagata-senpai facepalmed.

"By blown away, he means that (L/N)-san will get enthralled by your spikes... Not literally getting blown away like getting hit by a ball.", Ohira-senpai explained as Ushijima-senpai stayed silent for a moment then nodded his head.

"Say (L/N)-chan, how did you manage to have a scholarship and got to be the manager every girls here are dying for?", said Tendou-senpai as I smiled at him.

"Actually, the school offered me a scholarship when I become your team's manager... And I also passed the entrance exam too.", I said as they looked at me in awe.

"You took the entrance exam?! I thought when you're granted a scholarship you don't have to take the exam?", Semi-senpai asked as I nodded my head.

"Well, I was going to see whether I can pass or not. And I also have a cousin who wants to go here when he's finally in high school, so I can help him study with the exam.", I said.

"Also, my uncle recommended me.", I continued as an o-shape formed in their mouths.

"Your uncle must be a great person.", Yamagata-senpai said as I nervously smiled.

"Actually, he's the coach of the Japan's Men's Volleyball in the Olympics.", I said as they were surprised.

"You're uncle's the Olympics' coach?! That's so cool!", Tendou-senpai exclaimed as I sheepishly chuckled while rubbing the back of my neck.

"You must be so great in managing volleyball teams.", Semi-senpai said as I shook my head.

"I'm not really that great though, but I'll do my best to manage every team I handle. I want them to win.", I said as they smiled at me, except for Ushijima-senpai who was just listening.

"I'm guessing you already have a lot of experience in being a volleyball team's manager?", Ohira-senpai asked.

"Sort of. Well, I also used to be our school's volleyball team's manager back in middle school.", I said as I reminisced about my previous school with a sad smile.

I missed my friends in Tokyo so much. But since we already moved back to Miyagi, my life started anew and I will still meet a lot of people in the future.

"So, what positions you senpais play? I already knew that Ushijima-senpai is a wing spiker and the ace.", I said.

"I'm the middle blocker! Miracle boi Satori!", Tendou-senpai said with a huge smile on his face.

"Semisemi here is a setter, Reon's  a wing spiker, and Hayato's the libero.", he said as Semi-senpai furrowed his brows at him.

"Stop calling me Semisemi.", he complained as Tendou-senpai just chuckled.

"Nope. Semisemi's a cute nickname!", he said as the boys chuckled.

"I can agree with that though.", Yamagata-senpai said as Semi-senpai snapped his head at him.

"Not you too, Hayato!", he said as we laughed.

"(L/N)-san, you're staying at the dorms right?", Ohira-senpai asked as I shook my head.

"Actually, no. My house is just a kilometer and a half away from here.", I said.

"I thought scholars also stay in dorms.", Tendou-senpai said as I shook my head.

"Well, they asked me but I declined since I have ti help my parents with household chores.", I said as they nodded their heads.

"Aww~ (L/N)-chan's such a good girl~", Tendou-senpai cooed as blood crept up to my face.

"Oh stop flattering me senpai.", I said as they chuckled.

"Man, we sure have a lot who took the try-out.", Semi-senpai said as we looked at the front of the gym to see a lot of boys there.

"Well, Shiratorizawa's a powerhouse after all... And also the consecutive representative of Miyagi in the nationals.", Ohira-senpai explained as we nodded our heads.

"Washijo-sensei told me to tell you guys that we'll be playing against them this afternoon to see who are suitable to join the team.", Ushijima-senpai said as the boys nodded their heads.

"I hope the demon coach won't snap at us if we turned out rusty.", Tendou-senpai muttered as he nervously chuckled.

"We should practice everyday to improve our skills.", Ushijima-senpai said.

"Yeah, we already know that.", Semi-senpai said as Ohira-senpai and Yamagata-senpai nodded in agreement.

"But this year will be different. I'm even more motivated to play especially that we now have (L/N)-chan as our manager!", Tendou-senpai said as the boys nodded then smiled.

"I can agree with that.", Yamagata-senpai said, followed by the others.

"Since it's our first time meeting you, tell us about yourself, (L/N)-chan.", Tendou-senpai said as I nodded my head.

"Well, I can say that I'm just an average girl.", I said as Semi-senpai smiled.

"But you're cute though.", he said, making me blush.

"T-Thank you senpai", I said as I bashfully looked away.

"Aww~ Cute!", Tendou-senpai squealed as I chuckled.

"Also, I like reading books, cooking, and a lot more. I love volleyball the most.", I said.

"Say, you read manga?", Tendou-senpai asked with excitement as I nodded my head with a smile.

"Yes.",

"YEY! I got myself an otaku buddy!", he cheered as he then high-fived me.

"I lend my JUMP Wakatoshi-kun here but he only reads the ads.", he said with a pout as Ushijima-senpai looked at him with a dumbfounded face.

"Was I not supposed to?", he asked as Tendou-senpai deadpanned.

"It'll be a waste of money to buy Jump only to read the ads... Why can't you understand the glory of the manga?!", Tendou-senpai cried as Ushijima-senpai just nodded his head.

"I'm sorry.", he said as Tendou-senpai sighed.

"Anyway, with (L/N)-chan here, we'll conquer the prelims... And also the nationals!", he said.

"But I'm just the manager though. I'm not the one playing but you guys are.", I said.

"Well, we now have someone who'll look after us besides the coach. You see, Wakatoshi here can be very persistent when it comes to training... He'll even play without telling us that he was sick.", Semi-senpai said as Ushijima-just looked at him.

"Practice helps us improve.", he said as we deadpanned.

"But you shouldn't overwork yourself senpai. Especially when you get sick.", I said as he just nodded his head.

"BOYS! We're now starting the match!"

We heard Saito-sensei called as the boys then looked at me then smiled, except for Ushijima-senpai.

"We'll talk more later, (L/N)-chan~", Tendou-senpai chirped as he and the others walked to the court and did warm-ups first.

After a few minutes, the try-outs of the first years is now starting. It's the first years against the second years.

Washijo-sensei sat in the bench while Saito-sensei is the referee. I am standing in the scoreboard to mark the scores. Also, I will mentally take note of the boys' specialty, their weaknesses, and the part they have to improve on.

I will do my best as their manager.

The first year with copper-colored hair and uneven bangs that parted is the first one to serve. Saito-sensei now blew the whistle as the boy then did a normal serve.

If I remember correctly from the applicants' infos, he's Shirabu. And he was a setter back in middle school.

The ball then went towards Ohira-senpai as he then raised the ball up. Semi-senpai tossed the ball, and then there came Ushijima senpai...

I was frozen in my spot as I looked at his magnificent form, just like an eagle. It felt like time has stopped as he then spiked the ball, so hard that a 'Boom!' was heard.

And with that, the second years earned the first point. The first years were in awe at Ushijima's insanely strong spike, and also me. He really is the ace.

I then smiled to myself as I then changed the scores. A few points later, I was so amazed by the boys' plays.

Tendou-senpai is a really good blocker and what's more, his guess blocking. Semi-senpai is a great setter while Ohira-senpai as a wing spiker. Also, Yamagata-senpai is skilled as a libero.

And Ushijima-senpai...

He's definitely one of the top three aces of the country. His powerful spikes are unstoppable that they won all sets. His form is so magnificent and his aura is so intimidating.

He's truly the ace of the team...

He's interesting.

Looks like I'll enjoy my time here in Shiratorizawa. I'll tease Toru later when I run into him. Things are getting interesting.
