Taeyong sighed as soon as he finally took the last client of the day. He looked at the clock on his table and saw that he should get going. He immediately went to change and grabbed his bag with him, not forgetting the surprise he has for Jaehyun. He stepped into his car and drove towards their home.
As soon as he did, he comes in quietly and lights were off. Taeyong closed the door behind him and locked it. He went to turn a lamp on and walked upstairs. He sneakily went and checked up on his three kids, adopted. They were here for a week now and so far, they're bonding well as a family. He went in and saw that the three of them were already asleep.
Taeyong placed a kiss on their foreheads before he exited the room so quietly and closed their bedroom door. He should check up on Jaehyun. He should be in their room now.
He opened their shared room and was surprised not seeing his lover in. The boy saw that the bed was clean and untouched. He figured that Jaehyun's in his study room, so he made his way there. The man just tends to finish everything, he doesn't like cramming that much. The boy just scolds him for overworking.
When he opened the ajar door, he saw Jaehyun still seated on his study chair but wasn't doing anything. The man just seemed like he's resting, his eyes closed and his head just tilting to the side with his hand supporting.
"Jae? Are you okay?" the boy asked, immediately putting his things down. Worry flooded because the last time Jaehyun was "sleeping", was when he actually got unconscious from stress, resulting to over fatigue.
Jaehyun opened his eyes and looking towards the door then saw Taeyong walking towards him but he sighed in relief. He must've slept while working on his project. The boy stood behind the chair, wrapping his arms around around the man's neck loosely and his chin on top of Jaehyun's head. He looked at the laptop's screen and has documents opened to finish.
"You're overworking yourself again," Taeyong uttered, frowning.
"No, I wasn't," Jaehyun said, holding his lover's hand while he goes and shuts down the laptop. He should just finish them tomorrow.
"I'm telling you, you can't have fatigue and forget about your medicines."
"I didn't," the man reached for his pill box and showed that he drank everything that was scheduled for today.
Taeyong hummed, pulling away from the loose hug and went to lean on the study table, "Alright. How are you? Are classes too hard?"
Jaehyun shrugged, "They were fine, I just had one class so I was able to take care of the kids. I can't bother auntie or your mother to keep their eyes on them forever."
"They like being around their grandkids. Let them be, bud," the boy chuckled then suddenly remembered what he bought for him and went to grab it, "Hey, I have something for you, by the way."
The man waited, taking peeks but couldn't see it very clearly. He waited until the boy gave him a square piece that was wrapped. He almost forgot.
"Your birthday's coming up and I wanted to give you something in advance," Taeyong said.
Jaehyun frowned while he ripped the paper off and saw a vinyl record. His eyebrows went up as took it off of the wrapper, looking at the record he got.
"You found something like this?" Jaehyun asked.
"Well, you've been building up your vinyl collections and I thought to give you another vinyl record," the boy said, shrugging at his logic, "I hope you'll like the tracks."
"Let's put it on."
His vinyl record player is in his study room. It's something that soothes him while he works on his assignment. Taeyong hasn't really touched any of his vinyls but it felt nice that Jaehyun liked it. It took him very long to pick a vinyl that's worth giving, but he kind of knew his man's taste in music.
Jaehyun placed the record on the player and played it. A soft tone started playing and lifted the whole room atmosphere. A soft smile made into Taeyong's smile when the song made him remembered everything from day one. It still felt like a dream being with someone he loves since that day.
Suddenly, the boy was surprised when he saw the man standing infront of him, giving him a hand.
"What?" Taeyong asked.
Jaehyun smiled, "I feel like dancing to it."
The boy rolled his eyes playfully at him, not wanting to show that he felt his heart flutter at the action. Taeyong loosely wraps his arms around Jaehyun's neck, his hands against his nape, while Jaehyun's hands were on Taeyong's lower back. They slowly swayed themselves along the sweet music. They do slow dance some times, occasional, and it's kind of like a thing of theirs.
Jaehyun doesn't really know how to show that he appreciates everything Taeyong does for him so he just does things like this. He makes sure Taeyong's happy at the end of the day.
"You want to go somewhere for your birthday?" the boy asked.
The man hummed, "I'm fine with anywhere."
"Really? You don't have any requests? You can tell me," Taeyong asked.
"I'm good with what I have, Yong."
The boy smiled and went to hug him. They seemed to be having a stronger bond and Taeyong wished not to let go of it. They made it this far and the boy wants to keep supporting the man as long as he could. Jaehyun thinks the same and wants to be with Taeyong for longtime.
"Let's go and sleep after this, I'm tired," Taeyong uttered.
Jaehyun nodded, "Okay. I'll carry you if you want."
"Really? You'll do that?"
"As long as it's you."
