Jayda's POV

I was just about to go to sleep after texting Harry when my phone began to ring.

Harry? I thought, but soon discovered I was wrong. Mom, the name tag read. You've got to be kidding me.  It's been so long since I've last spoken to my family. Honestly, ever since Harry I've been avoiding them on purpose.

"Hey mom," I kindly answered.

"Jayda darling, I would like to speak to you in person. Can you come home tomorrow?"

Tomorrow, you've got to be kidding me...

"Mom if this is about school or my internship, I'm working very hard. My grades are up and nothing has changed," I stated.

"This isn't about that. Can you come home? I want to talk in person," she said calmer than usual.

"Yeah mom, I'll be there," I said skeptical.

"Okay goodnight."

She hung up the phone leaving me staring at my bedroom wall confused. She has never asked me to come home, it's always "stay and work hard see you on the holidays". Now, that it isn't a holiday she wants me home to "discuss" something? Wow.

I laid back letting out a sigh. I started thinking about how happy Harry makes me leaving a favorable smile on my face as I dozed off.

The Next day!!!!!

The next morning I woke up to find out my flight had been cancelled due to errors with some of the planes. Honestly, I was kind of glad because I didn't plan on going to California just like that.

I quickly texted my mom since she was expecting me.

To: Mom

Me: Good morning Mom, the flight was cancelled due to errors with some of the planes. They don't know when everything will be back in order. Sorry.

Mom: FaceTime me!

I annoyingly rolled my eyes as I opened up my MacBook Pro that Harry bought me.

I felt nervous as the ringing sound came from the screen.

"Hey mom," I said gleefully.

"Hello," she said blandly.

The awkward silence occurred for what seemed like forever.

"So mom what did you need me home for?" I asked getting straight to the point.

"I wanted to talk to you. What have you been doing recently?" She asked dubiously.

"Nothing. School. Work. You know the usual," I shrugged.

"Oh Jayda cut the crap. I've seen you in tabloids and blogs, hell even the television. I know you're with that boy," she snapped.

"His name is Harry and that situation got blown out of proportion. It's not even like that mom."

"I told you to go down there and get your studies, not mess around with a boy who's famous. This isn't like you to be in tabloids and things like that."

"Well it also isn't like me to be perfect," I mocked.

"Jayda you can't throw your life away for a boy, you're 17. Love will come later," she said calmly.

"It isn't like that, we're just friends. The only thing about it is he happens to be well known," I laughed.

"Jayda this isn't funny! You are still a child. That man is 22, I've looked him up and seen his past," she said ,pointing her finger in the camera.

I just shook my head. We haven't spoke in a while and yet she only calls me when I'm in the "public eye". I can't believe this. And then she brings up our age just like the paparazzi, wtf? I've done nothing but keep her happy, why can't I be happy?

"I'm not a child! I am working hard and going to school at the same time! You don't even care that I'm happy but guess what? Harry makes me happy and I don't plan on losing that happiness. He's different mom, his past is a lie! Believe it or not!" I yelled.

"Fine. If he makes you happy fine! But I tell you one thing young lady, those grades better stay up," she snapped, ending the call.

I shut the laptop and rested my face into my hands. I literally do everything I'm asked but as soon as I want something for me, I can't have it. But I can't let go of this, I refuse to. I'm holding on to him, whatever it takes.

I picked up my phone...

From, Brother Jake: You've gotten mom upset. What have you done now?

From, Brother Josh: You and Harry Styles? He's way too old for you, just saying but I guess you're cool.

"Fucking idiots," I blurted out.

They always find a way to get in my business.  I'm not the family screw up and I wish everyone would stop making me out to be. I decided to text Harry hopefully to reassure myself that I was in the right reality.

To: Harry 😇.

Me: You do know I'm 17 right?

.....(3 minutes later)

Harry: Yeah... something wrong?

Me: And you do know you're 22 right?

Harry: Yes I'm aware, Jayda is everything okay?

Me: I just wanted to know why everybody keeps bringing up our age difference. We're aware and it's not a problem to us. I hate the world.

Harry: Hey, it's okay. The world is just cruel and judgmental. We can't hate the world, we can't even dislike the people in it. The only thing we can do is worry about ourselves and move on. We've got the world on our backs, but as long as we've got each other that's okay.

Me: Well said, I love it ❤️.

Harry: You inspire me ✨. Are you okay though, should I be worried?

Me: You never have to worry about me even though I know you will, and I'm glad to be of inspiration. Lol. Anyways I talked to my mom and she basically said she saw me all over the internet with you, and age difference, and throwing my life away... blah blah.

Me: But it's okay, I told her off.

Harry: I'm sorry. You're not throwing your life away and I would never let you do that for me.

Me: I know and she will too one day. It's not your fault.

Harry: I'm coming over later, and I'm bringing extra suitcase of clothes since I'm over a lot if that's okay with you.

Me: Ofc, see you soon H 🙃.

Harry: I'll make it quick. See ya 😊.

I definitely feel better now.
