[Season 2 Episode 8]
Evangline was sitting in her usual seat doing her homework while sipping coffee in her baby pink mug that Luke had gotten just for her.
"You, okay? You looked more stressed than me" Luke told the girl.
"Yeah. It's just this Chilton work can be overwhelming and its barely my second week" Evangline said and took a sip of her coffee.
"Luke, I need to talk to you right now!" Taylor burst into the diner.
"What is it, Taylor" Luke said filling up Evangline mug.
"I have conducted a thorough investigation of all people who may have inadvertently been witness to the phony murder at my store last night" Taylor says to Luke.
Evangline spit out her coffee and started to laugh.
"There was a phony murder?" Mia asked Lorelei.
"Yeah, the town too dull for a real murder" She answered her. In her usual Lorelei tone.
'You're one "Beam me up, Scotty' reference away from being the victim of one" Rory tells her mom.
"Luke are you gonna listen?" Taylor asked following Luke around the diner.
"What's this gotta do with me?" Luke asked.
"Three people have reported seeing Jess in that Area" Taylor tells Luke. Once Evan heard Jess name being brought up, she decided to pay attention. "Late last night- sulking- lurking" Taylor says with his Index finger up.
Evangline heard what Taylor said and she remembered what she did last night... with Jess.
"How long have you lived here?" Jess asked the girl lighting up his cigarette. He offered the girl a puff.
"All my life -no thanks- I haven't moved anywhere else. This is my safe place" Evangline said.
They were both sitting at the dock. Jess called the girl when she got home if she wanted to meet up with him at the dock. Obviously, she agreed since, starting last week Jess was her only friend there. Since Rory was always with Dean.
"Dose anything happen here? Anything exciting?" Jess asked.
"Mm no not really. Our town is too boring and dull for anything actually exciting or thrilling to happen" Evangline said while looking at her swinging feet.
"Interesting. Hey, I have an idea" Jess turned to the girl.
"It's gonna be bad isn't it".
"You know me so well".
"There were a lot of people eating here late last night I know because I fed some of them, I'll give you their names so you can add them to your suspect list" Luke responds.
"Another person witnessed Jess walking out of an Arts-and-Crafts store two days ago with what appeared to be chalk" Taylor adds on.
"You appear to be bugging me" Luke said making fun of Taylor.
"What are you gonna do?" Taylor asked him.
"Absolutely nothing but thanks for the info" Luke told him.
"You have to do something! People want action!" Taylor screamed.
"People, meaning you!" Luke responds. "Not just me. I speak for the Stars Hollow Business Association, the Stars Hollow tourists board, the Stars Hollow neighborhood-watch organization, and the Stars Hollow citizens for a clean Stars Hollow council" Taylor says.
"Say that ten times fast" Evangline said shaking her head.
"All of which are you!" Luke screamed at him.
"So, are you going to act?!" Taylor asked.
"Yes, I'm gonna act like you never came in" Luke said and Evangline let out a laugh.
"Fine have it your own way. I warn you, there'll be a lot of unhappy people at the S.H.B.A, S.H.T.B, S.H.M.W.O, and the S.H.C.C.S.H.C." Taylor says with one breath.
"F-I-N-E" Luke screamed back.
"Oh! You are impossible! You are impossible!" Taylor screamed as he takes a frustrated sigh and was making his way out, but he seen a familiar face. "Oh! Hi, Mia" He greets her.
"Nice to see you, Taylor" She responds. He smiles and walks out.

Evangline was reading in the cafe. A cinnamon pie and a chai latte on her table along with different colored highlighters. A pen in one of her hands.
"Pride and Prejudice" Evangline hears a voice.
She looks up and sees Jess with his own book in his hands. "Have to let me read it after you're done" he said and sat across from her.
"Didn't peg you as the Jane Austen fan" Evangline said, closing her book to look at Jess.
"I am open minded" Jess told her.
"Taylor has been on everyone's ass about it" Evangline said and took a bite of her cinnamon pie.
"Yeah, I know. It's funny to see him walk around town questioning people" he said and smiled at the girl.
The setting was now the town meeting. Of course, Evangline standing in the back. Observing everyone. Watching everyone argue. Making her own side comments in her head.
"Because we are dealing with the Jess situation" Taylor said and Evangline started to draw in her book. She heard the conversation now and then.
"Couldn't buy her head of lettuce for her lunch, she drove straight to Woodbury". Then the crowd got loud again, which meant Evangline started to focus on one thing to cancel them out.
"That Jess boy is bad news, and I bet that Evangline girl had something to do with it too. They spend a lot of time together" Evangline poked her head up once she heard her name being brought up.
"Woah! Woah! Do not bring me into this! Don't even know what is going on. Don't blame anyone until you have hardcore evidence. Innocent until proven guilty! Jess has done some bad things but don't act like you are all saints. We all have our reasons. And Taylor for the love of God, stop dragging things to where it's blown over proportion. Leave it be" Evangline spoke her mind.
Everyone was looking at her in shock. She looked at everyone and walked out of that meeting.
She ran to her old house and sat on the porch. Her palms on her eye lids. Thinking about what she just had done. She sat in that position for about thirty minutes. She opened her book and began to read.

Evangline was getting a few groceries for her mini fridge at the Inn. When she was at checkout, she saw Jess and Rory talking.
"You actually went? Those things are so 'To Kill a Mockingbird' " Jess told Rory.
"Yes, I went, and Luke went too and when he got there everyone ganged up on him. They want you gone. They told Luke that too. Someone brought up Evangline and tried to drag her into your mess but Evangline, both defending you and herself" Rory told him.
Evangline grabbed her things and headed out the store and overheard Jess.
"Wow. Bummer. Kind of a stupid thing for her to do".
Evangline shook her head and continued to make her way to the Inn.
Now, the girl was at Luke's. She was sitting at the table closest to the door. Her baby pink mug in front of her. Her sketchbook and Pen also on the table. Contemplating on what Jess meant.
"Luke where's my toast?" Rory asked him.
"It's gonna take a while. My big toaster is broken, so I got stuck with just this dinky one" Luke told her.
Then Jess moves the big toaster.
"How's that happen?" Luke asked in shock.
"You're gonna break that" Jess told him and Luke looked over at the boy. "I don't fix things".
"But yesterday..." Luke questioned.
"I've got school" he said making his way to the door.
"Hey Evangline" he said looking at the girl.
"Hey Jess" she said and opened her sketchbook.
When she did look up, she had seen him, and Rory make eye contact. There she had seen it. The little sparkle in his eyes when her eyes met his.
"I get it now" Evangline said in her head still looking down at the sketchbook.
In her sketchbook. There was a girl looking at a boy and a girl. The boy and girl were dressed nicely and the girl in casual clothes sitting on a bench admiring the boy. At the bottom of the page, in cursive were "the other women".
