Taehyung POV

-flashback-

"... And she's quite forward so don't be surprised if she says something about the way you look or asks you a relatively blunt question. Also, she's really tall and has the softest short brown hair I've ever felt. Well, that is apart from yours but anyways. Oh! And for some reason, she always carries lollypops in her purse so if she offers you one, it's not poisoned or anything. And she never really stops talking. She's also quite sassy and probably won't hesitate to joke around with you even though she's never met you. Since we are going to a cafe, I'll let you know ahead of time that she always adds ridiculously excessive amounts of sugar in her coffee so it might be weird but that's why I'm telling you now. Also, as much as she hates to admit it, she's really clumsy and is constantly breaking things and knocking them over and tripping over her own feet. I remember when we were leaving my apartment yesterday and she had finished tying her shoelaces and we were going down the stairs but she still managed to trip over her tied shoelaces, after getting off of the staircase. So, I'm just saying, she's pretty clumsy. And..." Mihyun's bubbly voice chatted on as she thought of every possible thing I might need to know before meeting her best friend, Soohyun. After weeks of hearing from Mihyun about how much she was dying to meet me, we had planned to meet up at the cafe today.

As much as I tried to hide it from her, I was nervous. I knew there wasn't really anything to be that nervous about but I also knew that this was Mihyuns best friend and I knew how close they wore so I didn't want to mess it up. All my thoughts were calmed as I felt her warm hand wrap its way around mine. Her delicate fingers reached between mine and tangled themselves together.

"And if you do mess up or anything along those lines, I'll be there. So don't worry. She may seem like a lot at first but she's really a sweetheart." Her angelic voice was both comforting and calming the same time. "And plus, I don't see any and can't think of any reasons why she won't adore you as much as I do." Her hand tightened around my own and she shuffled closer to my side as we walked.

She looked up at me with her honey-dripping golden eyes and her cheeks squished up as she smiled widely at me. I grinned down at her and pecked her nose, sending giggles though both of us.

-

The bells above the coffee shop door my jingled as the two of us walked hand in hand into the cafe. Mihyun pulled me over to a table where a tall short-haired brunette sat with her face buried in her phone.

"Soohyunie, we're here." She said in a quiet voice. Almost whispering it into her ears. I figured it might have been in hopes of her not doing what she ended up doing anyway which included her looking up at the two of us, her gentle doe eyes reminding me of Jungkook's, then letting out a high-pitched squeak, and proceeding to gather the attention of every other person in the shop by jumping up and down giving my girlfriend a half hug/half strangle while she excitedly cheered her name. I guess they hadn't seen each other in a while? And by a while, I meant 48 hours.

Once all of her excitement had finally simmered down and Mihyun and I had taken our seats across from her, she turned her eyes to me.

"So, you must be Taehyung." Her eyes squinted together as she stared at me for what seemed like way longer than you would normally look at a person, but then again, I was warned about this.

"Well, he does have at least a little bit of fashion sense." Her head turned to glance at Mihyun as she spoke. "And by the looks of it, he takes good care of his skin." Mihyun giggled at her words. "What? I'm just saying." Soohyun defended with a grin.

"Well, you do know his job, correct?" Mihyun asked.

"Ahhh, yes, I remember. That explains the clear face and style." She added before speaking again. "So, what do you like about our Mihyun here?" She put on a serious face and pretended as if she had begun interrogating me.

"Oh, my god! Soohyun! Taehyung, just ignore her. What would you like to drink?" Mihyun's cheeks had flooded with pink and she blinked her eyes at me, embarrassed. I chuckled and looked back at her friend. Who still stared at me, waiting for my response, as if she was the one ignoring Mihyun.

"Well, to start, she is the most beautiful girl I've ever set eyes on." I started with a smile. Mihyun hid her head in her hands after lightly hitting my shoulder in embarrassment. I continued, "But, her beauty isn't just something on the outside. The more time I spend with her, the harder it gets to leave each time, because when I leave I know I won't get to look to my side and see someone who is beautiful on the outside and so kind-hearted, warm and beautiful on the inside as well." I smiled to myself as I spoke about her. I looked at Soohyun who sat with a Cheshire grin in the seat across from us, while my girlfriend still had her head buried, but now it was in my side rather than her hands.

"Well, I like this one. Keep him." Soohyun giggled as Mihyun hid in embarrassment and giggled into my side.

Taehyung POV

I leaned my head on my arms which lay folded over the kitchen counter. The condensation on my unfinished glass of water began to slide down the side of the glass and pool together beneath the cup.

I couldn't control my mind as I replayed the moments before and the entire scene of my spilling my guts to Yoongi hyung. It felt as though I was reliving the moment my life flipped upside down and I could only sit and go through the pain as my heart shattered again after hearing about Mihyun.

As I fell deeper into a spiral of heartbreak that I didn't notice my hyung who had placed himself in front of me. He stood there staring at me before grabbing a paper towel and placing it under my glass of water to suck up the condensation puddle.

"Obviously, you know you messed up. But, I can't let you continue to eat away at yourself the way you have been, Taehyung." Yoongi's voice met my ears but I neglected to look up at him. "So get up, put some clean clothes on and we are going out." I looked up this time, only to see his face which flashed a smile before turning towards the living room. I rolled my eyes and groaned before turning around and sulking my way to my room. I really didn't want to go anywhere at the moment but maybe it would be good. Maybe I could figure out what to do.

After putting on some cleaner clothes and some softly scented cologne, I made my way to the living room where Yoongi hyung was waiting on the couch with his phone in hand. I cleared my throat to get his attention and he looked up, smiling again. Probably in amazement that I actually listened to him. He stood up and walked over to me, ruffling my hair before grabbed his jacket and wallet.

"Let's go, Taehyungie. We're going to get some drinks because, after the events of today, I need it, which only makes me believe that you need it more." He grabbed his keys and walked out the door with me close behind.

After the short drive to the bar that he had decided to go to, we climbed out of the car and headed directly to the bar. The entire room was filled with the pounding beat of the music and there was a cluster of people who had gathered in the center to dance. Yoongi ordered us drinks and we sat at the bar, spinning out chairs around to observe the crowd. The bartender then placed our drinks on the counter behind us. I took a sip of the strong liquid and let it run through me at lightning speed.

"Let's go sit at a table, it might be more comfortable, and I'll be able to hear myself think," Yoongi suggested. To be honest, the last thing I wanted was to be able to hear myself think but I nodded anyway and we made our way to a table which wasn't surrounded by a cluster of drunk people. My thoughts sizzled in my mind and I longed to shut them up. I glanced at my drink, which was half full and grabbed the glass, taking another sip of the mind-bending liquid. It would take a few of these to get my system out of order, but this could be considered a start. I gulped down the last of the substance in my glass and looked at my hyung who had done the same as me.

"I'll be back, hyung. I'm gonna go get us more drinks," I said, standing up and beginning to make my way back to the bar. I watched the crowd of people who were dancing, their hands either in the air or roaming the person next to them. There were women dressed in skin-tight dresses that stuck to their skin in a way that showed off their curves. The men mostly wore button down shirts with tight jeans or pants.

My eyes darted from couple to couple, some of them in heated kisses and some just dancing, my eyes passed by a couple, the girl dressed in a slinky maroon dress and the man wearing a button-down shirt. My eyes drifted off of them but then for some reason, went right back. The woman standing in front of the man looked too oddly familiar for me to remove my gaze. I watched as their closeness escalated to a kiss and I watched the woman's messy brown hair fall to the side as she tilted her head.

Looking closer, I felt like some weird creep, but I couldn't seem to take my eyes off of the woman. It was like I was being pulled towards her. My eyes wouldn't look away and I observed their motions, the way her delicate hands moved down his back and back up to his hair, smoothing down the man's jawline.

Suddenly, the woman pulled away from her partner, her face blocked by the man. I noticed her head move out of the way of his as she glanced around the room. My mind froze when I saw her face.

It was her.

I watched in pain as the man pulled her back towards him and kissed her again. My blood boiled at the sight but it went from boiling to freezing when her eyes which hadn't closed since he began to kiss her again, had locked on to mine.

We stared at each other, far apart from each other but still feeling the radiating emotions of the moment. Her gaze finally snapped off of mine when the man began to gently shake her shoulders, realizing she hadn't been kissing him back like before. Her eyes darted to him, then back to me, before seeming to let a switch go off in her head.

Faster than I could have blinked, she had begun to run away from the man she was with. I spotted the table that she had run to and watched as her friends were shocked to see her grab her bag and proceed to run all the way outside. They stood up, yelling out after her. I saw Soohyun, who had stood up and was making her way after Mihyun. Finally forcing my feet to become useful, I quickly made my way to the door of the building, running after both girls.

"Soohyun!" I yelled after her as I had almost caught up to her. I reached the outside of the building just as I saw Mihyun climb into a taxi which drove off before Soohyun could catch her best friend. Soohyun hurriedly began to run back into the building.

"Soohyun, wait!" I chased after her again and she still didn't hear me as she searched through her purse for something. She pulled out what I assumed was her keys and muttered something to the rest of her friends who were calling Mihyun and trying to figure out what was going on, before turning around again.

"Soohyun! Wait, please!" She finally heard me and turned her gaze to where I was standing. I watched as her eyes turned from worry to shock then seemed to begin blazing with fire and she stepped towards me.

"You! What did you do!" her voice seeped anger as she spat out her words. "You already shattered her heart once, then once again after that, are you here for round three?" her venomous words were probably not undeserved but I wasn't sure what she meant about breaking her heart more than once. As far as I know, I made the worst decision in my entire life and never brought it back up again. But, I gave up on trying to figure it out as that would just be wasting time.

"No! No, I never meant to hurt her! That was the last thing that I was trying to do and now I know that was the worst decision I've ever made in my entire life. I can't live with myself knowing she's in pain which is why I'm asking you not to go after her this time. Let me go. Let me fix this." My voice was frail and hesitant.

"Please." I begged her. Her eyes seemed to soften a little bit as she nodded at me slowly. I nodded back but stopped when she grabbed my shoulder. I turned around.

"But don't fuck it up this time." Her sharp words rang through my head and I nodded again before running out of the building.

Mihyun POV

I clambered my way out of the taxi and made my way to my apartment building, pulling my high heels off of my feet before rushing up the stairs to my front door. I unlocked it and slammed it closed behind me sliding down the solid rectangle to land in a pitiful position on the floor. I grabbed my shoes and hurled each one across the room hearing them crash onto the floor.

My shaking and clammy fingers threaded themselves through my hair as I dropped my head to rest between my two knees. I looked up and walked over to my bed, unhooking my earrings and necklace as I tossed them onto the mattress.

A small box stuck out from the underneath side of my bed and I frowned as I remembered what was inside. It was like the hundreds of photos of us which lay inside were mocking me. My brain was drowning in confusion and I had a frozen image of his broken face in my head. I aggressively kicked the box farther under my bed and started to make my way to the bathroom, wanting to remove my makeup, when a knock on my door made me stop in my tracks.
