"Ooh. Three days. How am I ever gonna come up with all that money? What's the use? I'll never get out from under that maniac. My days are numbered..and the number is three. It's hopeless." Fagin says as he comes inside soaking wet.

"Kid." Alexis says as she drops a dog biscuit in front of the cat.

"Thanks." The kid says as he begins eating on the dog biscuit.

"That reminds me. I saw DeSoto's nose. Who did that? You? You. That took a lot of guts." Fagin says as the kid steps forward allowing Fagin to pick him up and pet him.

"Cute kid." Alexis thinks as she smiles watching the kid with Fagin.

"We've never had a cat in the gang before. We can use all the help we can get. Ahhh. All right. Time for bed. We've got a big day tomorrow." Fagin says as Einstein walks past Alexis with a book.

"A book?" Alexis asks.

"Yep." Einstein says as he tries to get Fagin to hold the book.

"Aww no. Oh all right. But just one chapter tonight. Umm let's see. Here we are. Here we are. Chapter seven. Sparky stopped and he rolled in a field of wildflowers. The dandelions tickled his nose... 'til he laughed out loud. And caught his eye. It was Bumper the rabbit. Sparky jumped to his feet... and ran toward Bumper barking loudly. Woof. Woof. Well you try it sometime. Ruff! R-Ruff! Well that's because you're a dog. Sparky knew that Bumper would run and that he could chase him over the field. But Sparky would never catch him or hurt him... because Sparky was not that kind of a dog." Fagin says as he and some of the others fall asleep as Alexis goes over and lays beside Rita.

"Hey Alexis." Rita says as she and Alexis see the cat curling up beside Dodger.

"Adorable." Alexis says as she smiles.

"It is. Reminds me of when you first joined us. You wouldn't leave Dodger's side for the world." Rita says as Alexis looks at her.

"I still wouldn't but he's my best friend alongside you and Tito." Alexis says as she smiles.

"Well I'm glad you joined our group. Makes me glad to have a girl around." Rita says as she then falls off to sleep.

"Yeah." Alexis says as he smiles before calling asleep beside Rita.
