Spottedpaw opened her eyes. She seemed to be in a dark shadowy forest, which seemed all black. She was in a bush, hiding and watching two tabby toms looking at each other, one with blue eyes another with amber. Other cats around them seemed to be practicing as the two talked. Each group were fighting, learning deadly moves. What were the doing?
She jumped when she noticed Jayfeather was next to her, and another, she had ragged grey fur and her ear was slightly torn. A large Russell mad them turn around.
"What do you want?" A large black tom hissed. Spottedpaw observed him, and had a feeling that she knew this tom. Is this my memory?
Without fear she thought of what to say and then said it. "What are you doing?" She demanded aiming to see the fighting cats, but they had all seem to vanish. The black tom finally looked at her.
"Nothing." He just said. That sly tom! She growled slightly and continued. "I mean why are you training cats deadly attacks!" Her gaze harden as she watched the tom. Finally a named popped in her head, Brokenstar.
"Why would we do such a thing?" He asked innocently. Spottedpaw refused to be played with like a toy. "That's what I would like to know!" Brokenstar purred slightly, and flicked his tail invitingly
"Explore a little, see as much as my home as you like." He urged. Spottedpaw looked to the forest. "Okay." She was ready to go but Brokenstar interrupted.
"But of course, if I let you see the Dark Forest, StarClan must let us visit their hunting grounds." he showed his teeth. Spottedpaw realized that this wasn't her memory, it was Spottedleaf's! "Isn't that only fair?" He sneered.
This time the ragged she-cat spoke, Yellowfang, Spottedpaw remembered. "Never!" She growled.
Brokenstar blocked the path of the three cats and watched them. "Then you cannot come into my territory." he shrugged an turned away. Jayfeather was getting ready to pounce but Spottedpaw blocked his path. "That is not a fight you can win." she told him.
Jayfeather looked as if he was about to argue and then sighed, nodding his head. They were about the leave when Spottedpaw stopped. She looked to Yellowfang, "Go home." the words seem to come freely. "Jayfeather and I will will see what they are up to."
Yellowfang sighed and nodded, "Very well, be careful." Spottedpaw looked to Jayfeather and turned back to the Dark Forest. "This way." she whispered and headed for a bush. A shadowy she-cat was showing death blows.
"Always aim for the throat..." her voice seemed faded. The cats who watched seemed pleased to be trained. Spottedpaw was frighten how they liked seeing how to kill a cat, but before they could see more, Spottedpaw could hear a call.
"Spottedpaw? Spottedpaw get up already!" Spottedpaw's head bolted up, Jayfeather was sniffing at her. "W-What?" Still surprised about her dream she looked around the den.
"Jayfeather?" She spoke up before the medicine cat could continue. "What happened in the Dark Forest?" She said almost in a whisper, still shaking from her dream.
