Wei Ying's eyes slowly fluttered open and light began to pour into his pupils, making them smaller under the strain the light had on him. After he had woken up a bit, the first thing he noticed was that his pounding head had eased lightly and that he did not feel so weighed down by the fever that had once struck him. He still didn't feel his best self though, although it was much better than he had been before.

The next thing he noticed was that he felt extremely warm in the situation he was in right now. Wanting to feel it more, he shuffled closer to where the heat was coming from. Where was the heat coming...from? Realising that the heat source was only next to him and not a blanket which would've heated all of him, he quickly raised his head and stared next to him.

To his surprise, next to him was a body, but not just any body, it was the body of his secret love. Lan Zhan was laying peacefully next to him with his eyes shut and arms around Wei Ying's waist, holding him tightly to his body. Wei Ying's eyes widened at the sight, but they soon softened again and just looked at the man in front of him.

After a while of looking at his unusually gentle features, he decided that he wanted to savour this moment. Making sure not to wake the sleeping beauty up, he slowly sunk back down and relaxed once again into Lan Zhan's warm body. He placed his head on his love's chest and snuggled tightly into him.

With the movement, Lan Zhan stirred awake once again. When he saw the position Wei Ying was in, he tightened one of his arms and brought the other to his lover's hair, stroking gently in a reassuring manner. Wei Ying was loving all the attention he was receiving and accidentally let out a sigh of delight. Instantly, he froze and so did Lan Zhan's actions.

"Wei Ying?" muttered Lan Zhan, cautiously as if he was afraid to speak too loudly. As a response, Wei Ying let out a hum and turned his face so that his eyes met the golden orbs. Both of them stared into each other's eyes for what seemed like ages, in a world of their own, until Lan Zhan moved his eyes and looked up at Wei Ying's forehead.

Gingerly, he lifted his hand and placed it gently onto Wei Ying's skin, feeling his temperature. "Your temperature has settled. Your fever is starting to go" Lan Zhan spoke as he moved his hand away and sat up. Wei Ying still clung to him and therefore was dragged up too, causing his head to spin slightly. Quickly, he moved to grip his head in an attempt to settle the whirl in his brain.

Lan Zhan's eyes widened and he wrapped his hands around Wei Ying again, supporting him. "I'm fine, I'm fine" Wei Ying giggled and tried to move Lan Zhan away, but his hands were unmoving and felt like they were stuck to his body.
"Lay back down" Lan Zhan worried as he pushed Wei Ying's body back onto the comfy mattress before attempting to leave.

Wei Ying rapidly grabbed Lan Zhan's hand and stopped him from moving anymore as he knew Lan Zhan didn't dare forcefully pull him with the condition he is currently in. "Lan Zhan please don't leave me, can't you see I'm still not better" Wei Ying pouted as he stared into those golden eyes once more. Instantly, Lan Zhan froze after hearing that his lover wanted him to stay and comfort him in his time of need.

"It is inappropriate. I should not have been next to you in the first place" Lan Zhan whispered as he stared at the floor. Wei Ying could tell that Lan Zhan didn't mean the words he was saying, he knew him too long and too well to know his tells. As he looked at the gorgeous man standing before him, an idea popped into his head and a slight smile curved on his face.

"Pretty please, Lan Zhan, it will for sure help me get better quicker. You are so warm that my fever will disappear in no time" Wei Ying pulled out the biggest puppy dog eyes that he possibly could and stared right into Lan Zhan's soul (after the other had lifted his head again).

After some thought, Lan Zhan sunk back down onto the bed, looking hesitant. As quick as he could, Wei Ying cuddled up to his side and placed his head on Lan Zhan's lap. He sighed and closed his eyes once more.
"Thank you, Lan Zhan..." he whispered, tiredness seeping into his already soft voice.
"Mmn" was all Lan Zhan said before he once again placed his surprisingly soft hands on Wei Ying's face, moving a strand of hair from his eyes.

Wei Ying's eyes widened at the sudden contact as his lover's skin touched his own. Slowly, his head trueness round to meet the beautiful eyes of the man above him.

"Lan Zhan..." Wei Ying muttered quietly, but still loud enough for the latter to hear.
"Yes?" Lan Zhan's eyes met his and it was as if the world had stopped for the both of them.

The silence wasn't awkward at all, instead, it was beautiful and pleasant, making them both smile internally and a little bit externally. However, the silence was soon broken when the smallest of the two spoke in a hushed voice.

"I have something to tell you..."
"What is it?" Lan Zhan stated bluntly but a hint of knowing was badly hidden in his voice.
"I...umm...well, you see..I..." Wei Ying just couldn't get the words out. He was struggling with how to say what he wanted to. He paused, thinking about how he could say these certain words without wrecking everything he had with Lan Zhan if it goes the wrong way.

Just when it had finally found the words, a strike of nausea hit his stomach and throat. Sitting up quickly, he rushed to where an empty pale was and hunched over it, throwing up everything left in his stomach. Tears formed in his eyes and one by one they started to roll down his face. The strain in his stomach hurt so bad that all he wanted was someone's comfort, anyone would do.

Lan Zhan sat on the bed, eyes wide as he watched the boy stumble forwards and fall with a 'thump' onto the floor. As soon as tears started to well in Wei Ying's eyes, Lan Zhan moved faster than he ever had before, rushing to his love's side. Carefully, he brought Wei Ying into his embrace, after the boy had stopped throwing up, and patted the sweat and tears off with his sleeve.

"It's okay. You're okay. Don't cry, I'm here" Lan Zhan spoke soothing words, holding the boy he loved tightly in his arms. With the lack of energy, all the words that Wei Ying had previously wanted to share, came out.

"Lan Zhan... I like you so much, I have from the first time I saw you. If you don't feel the same, forget I said anything, I just really need to tell you..." his voice faded at the end, regretting all that he had previously said. He regretted it even more when he felt Lan Zhan's body tense up. Panicking, Wei Ying got up quickly, despite nausea and spinning room, and tried to leave the Jingshi.

However, as soon as he opened the door, someone's hands grabbed him and pulled him backward. Wei Ying stumbled back but was stopped as he landed on a soft, but warm, chest.
"You haven't heard my response. Why are you leaving?" Lan Zhan's deep voice came from above him, right next to his ear. A shiver ran down Wei Ying's spine at the closeness and at the fear that struck him.

"Well...what is your r-response?" his voice quivered slightly at the end and looked at the floor. Lan Zhan lifted his hand and gently twisted the boy's head, facing his own. There was a while of silence and Wei Ying didn't know what to do, so he just sat there, waiting for whatever response was to come as he stared into golden orbs. But he couldn't stay quiet for so long, per usual Wei Ying.

"Lan Z-Zhan...Please s-say something" he muttered as he tried to look away but the grip on his chin was too strong.
"Don't move. I'm not done looking at your beauty yet" Lan Zhan stated, keeping his stare tight on Wei Ying's features. Wei Ying gasped slightly and his eyes had gone wide.

"Wei Ying, do you really not already know my answer?" he stated while smoothing Wei Ying's face with his thumb, hand still on his chin. Baffled, Wei Ying shook his head, tilting it to the side in wonder. Lan Zhan smiled slightly and moved Wei Ying into his arms, hugging him tightly with his head on his shoulder.

Leaning down, Lan Zhan's mouth next to Wei Ying's ear once again, he spoke softly. "You're not very observant, Wei Ying. How could you not have realised that I have, too, had feelings from the first moment I saw you," a soft half-laugh came from his mouth.

Wei Ying was in utter shock as he pulled away and stared wide-eyed at the man close to him, almost as if they were about to burst from his skull. His features, however, were soon overtaken by a gleaming smile that stretched across his face.

Quickly, he leaped forwards and embraced Lan Zhan. He giggled as the other man stumbled backward but managed to support himself and wrapped his arms around Wei Ying's waist. "Careful" Lan Zhan warned as he picked his lover up and carried him towards the bed, placing him down gently. Wei Ying's smile faded somewhat and was replaced by a slight look of confusion.

"You are still sick and need to rest" he firmly stated but worry was evident in his words. Wei Ying smiled and laid down again, getting comfy in the blanket before looking back towards his love once again. "Fine, you win this time, Lan Zhan but I have a condition," a smirk etched its way onto his face as he saw Lan Zhan's curious look.

"Mmn, what is it?"

"You have to lay with me and help me get better quicker" Wei Ying extended his arms and waited for Lan Zhan to come to him. Without hesitation, Lan Zhan walked over to him with a subtle smile and sat down next to Wei Ying.

Immediately, he moved closer and placed his head onto his, now, boyfriend's lap. Lan Zhan stroked Wei Ying's hair and recovered his body with the blanket, making sure his lover was comfy enough to get some more rest.

Wei Ying closed his eyes at how content he felt knowing that he finally had everything he wanted. He had a lover who he has always wanted, comfort and he was no longer feeling alone in the world. Even though he had a family, he never felt truly accepted into their life, he felt like an outsider in his own home. Now, however, with Lan Zhan and himself finally expressing how they feel about each other, he actually felt as though he belonged somewhere. Felt as though he was finally needed by someone, somewhere in the world.

Conscience slipping away from him gradually, he relaxed into the man's legs more, Lan Zhan felt his weight becoming heavier and smiled knowing that he was finally getting some more rest. A genuinely happy smile was set onto both of their features, and they relaxed fully into each other's company.

After a few minutes, the room was filled with the heavy breaths of the couple. They were both now sleeping soundly, holding each other lovingly, feeling that both belonged somewhere after a while of trying to find themselves. Finally, there was someone out there who loved them, for them, and wouldn't leave them no matter what.
