Over the next week, Jennie only saw Lisa for a few hours each night. Every day, she could feel Lisa slipping away from her, and there wasn't anything she could do about it. Frustrated, Jennie gave Somin some orders, setting her plan into motion. Tonight they were going to have a nice, romantic meal together and spend some quality time together. Lisa hadn't been deployed yet, and Jennie was determined to make the most of the time they had left together. Of course, she could understand why Lisa was pulling away, but she was going to leave either way, and Jennie would have to deal with the heartache of missing her whether they spent the next few weeks attached at the hip or barely seeing each other at all. The only difference was that she'd prefer to spend as much time with Lisa as she could.

She stayed at the office late that night, waiting for Lisa to call her before deciding to leave. Somin poked her head in around six, informing Jennie that she'd fulfilled her requests, and Jennie dismissed her for the night.

It wasn't until six o'clock that Jennie's phone rang. She smiled as she answered it, listening to Lisa's voice come through.

"Hi! I'm just leaving work now; I'll be there in like an hour. Are we still on for dinner tonight?" Lisa cheerfully babbled.

"Hi, no problem. Yes, I'll sort out dinner," Jennie assured Lisa.

"Great! See you soon, bye," Lisa said, before the phone went dead.

Jennie smiled slightly to herself, refocussing her attention back onto the plans for J-Corp's latest product. She still had a while before Lisa would make it back to the city so Jennie thought she'd make the most of her time at the office.

Jennie stepped out of the shower and padded back into her room. She quickly got changed before heading out to the kitchen, making sure everything was in order for when Lisa got here, which should be any minute now.

She shut the oven door at the sound of a knock on the door, and quickly untied the apron around her waist, throwing it onto the counter as she rushed to the door. Throwing it open, Jennie smiled widely at Lisa, leaning in to give her a hard kiss.

"Oh, hi," Lisa blinked in surprise, taken aback by Jennie's bright expression and forwardness. "You're in a good mood."

"Well I am now," Jennie murmured, kissing Lisa again; softly this time. She gave her a once over, taken in the shirt and jeans that Lisa was wearing. Obviously she'd already been home, which meant that she wouldn't need a shower before dinner.

Taking Lisa by the hand, Jennie pulled her inside and shut the door, before setting off back down the hallway with Lisa in tow. At the end of the hallway Lisa stopped in her tracks, looking around the room with wide eyes. There were flowers covering every surface, and candles flickering softly, bathing the room in an orange glow.

"Oh, wow," Lisa softly murmured, turning to look at Jennie with a smile on her face. "What's the occasion?"

"Does there need to be one?" Jennie asked, raising an eyebrow at Lisa as she smiled smugly.

Lisa walked over to the nearest bunch of flowers, reaching out to gently touch the petals of one of them. "What kind of flowers are these?" she asked.

Jennie came up behind her, wrapping her hands around Lisa's waist and placing her lips to her neck. "They're called plumerias," Jennie told her, kissing her way down Lisa's neck.

"They're beautiful," Lisa said, closing her eyes and revelling in the feeling of the kisses Jennie placed on her neck. Suddenly Jennie pulled away, walking around the kitchen counter and opening the oven.

"The first course will be ready soon," Jennie smiled, enjoying the look of surprise on Lisa's face.

"The first course?" Lisa asked, walking over to Jennie to see what she was cooking. Her path was blocked by Jennie's hand as she cut her off mid-step.

"No, you sit down. It's a surprise." Jennie grinned at her. "A good one I hope. I've been getting better." Lisa sighed, giving Jennie an exasperated look, even as she walked over to the sofa.

"Would you like a glass of wine, or did you want to wait until we eat?" Jennie asked, pulling a pan out of the oven and setting it on top of the stove. Shuffling around the kitchen, Jennie pulled out plates and other ingredients, finishing the prep for the main course.

"I'll just wait until we eat," Lisa assured her, "which I can't wait for, because whatever it is smells amazing."

Jennie let out a quick laugh, knowing that Lisa would lie to her even if it was awful, just so Jennie's feelings didn't get hurt. "Do you want to put some music on then?" Jennie asked, gesturing to the record player and stack of vinyls.

Lisa got up and walked over to it, rifling through the stack of records, before pulling one out with a triumphant smile on her face. "How about Philip Glass?" she called over to Jennie.

"Whatever you want," Jennie replied, shrugging indifferently.

Lisa laughed, sliding the vinyl out of the cover and placing it on the record player. "Please, I know Metamorphosis One is your favourite piece," Lisa told her, dropping the needle down onto the vinyl and filling the apartment with music. Jennie smiled at the first notes of the piano, taking comfort in the soothing song.

Adding the final touches to their starters, Jennie picked up their plates and carried them over to the table, setting them down gently. Lisa wandered over, curious to see what they were eating, and starving from a long day at work.

Jennie pulled out Lisa's chair for her, giving her a warm smiled as she gestured for Lisa to sit down. With a quiet laugh, Lisa let Jennie help her into her seat, murmuring her thanks. Walking around to the other side of the table, Jennie sat herself down and poured them both a glass of wine.

"This looks so good," Lisa said, not even trying to disguise the surprise in her voice. "What is it?"

"Um, it's rockmelon bruschetta with goat's cheese and prosciutto," Jennie informed her, picking hers up and inspecting it.

"Fancy," Lisa commented, giving Jennie a wide smile as she took a bite. She mumbled her approval through her mouthful of food and Jennie laughed softly, shaking her head as she took a bite of her own.

They both talked about their days as they made their way through the starters, and once finished, Jennie carried their empty plates to the kitchen, insisting that Lisa stay seated whilst Jennie prepared the second course. A few minutes later she walked back over with another two plates, and set Lisa's down in front of her.

"And here we have salmon with a quinoa, brown rice and vegetables," Jennie explained as she took her seat.

"Did you actually make all of this yourself?" Lisa asked sceptically, eyeing the food.

"Um, yes, I did actually," Jennie huffed, pretending to be offended by Lisa's scepticism. "I mean, did pick foods that didn't really need to be cooked too much, just in case."

They both laughed as they dug into their food, and Jennie was pleasantly surprised to find that she had actually done a pretty good job. "The dessert is by far the best part though," Jennie told Lisa.

"Ooo, what did you make?" Lisa asked, cutting up her salmon and popping a piece into her mouth.

"Well I didn't make it, but you'll thank me for that," Jennie laughed. "I picked up some chocolate pecan pie from your favourite place, and I remembered the ice cream this time."

"Oh my God, yes. You spoil me," Lisa smiled widely at Jennie, her eyes lit up at the thought of the pie.

"Hardly," Jennie smiled, feeling pleased with herself. Everything was going great so far, Lisa wasn't pushing her away.

After they finished the pie, Lisa carried their plates over to the kitchen, finishing up a story about one of the soldiers in her platoon. She opened the dishwasher as Jennie extinguished the candles on the table. "Oh, it's fine, just leave the dishes," Jennie told her, moving to turn off the music.

"No, no," Lisa argued, "you cooked, so I'll clean up."

Jennie walked over to the kitchen, smirking to herself as she came up behind Lisa and grabbed her by the waist. She kissed her just below her ear and heard Lisa's sharp intake of breath. "Leave the dishes," Jennie whispered in her ear, smiling as the plate slid out of Lisa's hand and clattered back into the sink.

Jennie turned her around and pressed a hard kiss to Lisa's lips, her hands trailing upwards and grabbing a fistful of Lisa's shirt as she pulled her closer. Lisa kissed her back slowly, the passion behind Jennie's kiss taking her by surprise. Running her tongue along Lisa's bottom lip, Jennie deepened the kiss, one hand cupping the side of Lisa's neck as the other untucked her shirt. She felt Lisa's hands come up and tangle in her hair.

She managed to get Lisa's shirt untucked and her fingers went to the top button, fumbling slightly as she tried to undo it. Lisa pulled away slightly. "Jennie," Lisa whispered against her lips, her hands still entwined in Jennie's hair.

"Mm?" Jennie murmured in reply, her hands going to her own shirt as she started unbuttoning it.

"What're you doing?" Lisa asked quietly, breathing heavily.

Jennie let out a breathless laugh. "What does it look like I'm doing?" she smirked, undoing the last button and letting her shirt fall to the floor. Lisa's eyes widened and her mouth hung open as she tried to form a coherent sentence in reply.

"Wha-, um, y-you," Lisa stammered as she looked at Jennie stood there in her lacy bra. Jennie cupped Lisa's face again, placing a teasing kiss on Lisa's lips, before gently biting her lip.

"How about we go to my bedroom," Jennie suggested, her hands trailing down Lisa's body before she took her by the hand, walking backwards. Lisa stumbled forward as if in a trance, and then shaking herself out of it, moved towards Jennie quickly. Jennie let out a squeal of laughter as Lisa smoothly picked her up, and wrapped her legs around Lisa's waist. Their lips found each other again, and Lisa started towards the bedroom.

They bumped into the counter and the wall, but eventually, both laughing in between kisses, they made it to the bedroom door, and Jennie fumbled behind her for the handle. Lisa carried Jennie over the threshold of the bedroom, before setting her down and kicking the door shut behind them.

Lisa looked behind Jennie, letting out a quick laugh as she took in the bedroom. There were more flowers and candles spread around the room, and rose petals laid upon the bedspread.

"What is it?" Jennie asked, pushing aside the collar of Lisa's shirt to place a kiss on her collarbone.

"Oh my God, you're trying to seduce me," Lisa laughed, her eyes crinkling at the corners as she covered her mouth with her hand.

"What?" Jennie said, bringing her head back up to look at Lisa in confusion.

"The three course meal, the flowers, the candles, the lingerie," Lisa listed as she laughed. Jennie's eyes went wide at Lisa's words, and she let out a surprised laugh.

"Oh fuck me, I'm seducing you," Jennie exclaimed, biting her lip to stop herself from laughing.

Lisa started laughing again and Jennie couldn't stop herself from joining in. The two of them stood there laughing in the semi-darkness of the room, their faces lit orange by the flickering light of the candles. Jennie reached out to pull Lisa closer, and they came together in a slow kiss. This kiss was different, filled with desire and longing.

And then they were both moving quickly as Jennie's hands undid the row of buttons on Lisa's shirt, and Lisa stripped off her jeans, placing desperate kisses on each other's lips. They both stood in front of each other in their underwear, and Jennie cracked a smile at the flowers on Lisa's knickers.

"Are those daisies," she asked, pulling Lisa closer by the waistband of them.

Lisa flushed with embarrassment, crossing her arms as she looked down. "Well I clearly didn't know or I would've, I don't know, wore something that matches," Lisa sighed, rolling her eyes at Jennie.

"I like them, they're... cute," Jennie laughed, bringing her hands up to cup Lisa's cheek. She gently rubbed her thumb along one of Lisa's cheekbones, before leaning in to give her a slow kiss.

"Cute," Lisa grumbled, "that's exactly what every girl wants to hear when they're stood in front of their girlfriend in their underwear."

"I'm also thinking... other things," Jennie admitted, her voice barely above a whisper as she trailed one hand down Lisa's back and kissed her way down her neck and along her collarbone. She heard Lisa's breathing hitch as Jennie's kisses trailed further down.

"Jennie," Lisa whispered, one hand running through her hair, and grasping a handful of the dark locks. "Jennie, wait."

Jennie straightened up at Lisa's words, gently cupping the side of her neck as she searched Lisa's face with concern in her eyes. "Is everything okay?" Jennie asked, worried that she was assuming too much.

"Can we just... sit down for a second?" Lisa asked, looking at the bed. Jennie nodded and led her over to the bed, sitting down next to her, but leaving a considerable gap between them.

"Am I-, did you not want..." Jennie trailed off, her forehead furrowing in concern.

"No!" Lisa exclaimed quickly, before she calmed back down. "No, that's not it at all. I mean, of course I do... but do you?"

"What do you mean?" Jennie asked, her concern turning to confusion as she gave Lisa a quizzical look.

"Jennie, you told me you were a virgin," Lisa reminded her.

Jennie sat there in blank silence for a moment, waiting for Lisa to continue. When she didn't elaborate, Jennie gave her an exasperated look. "Well yeah, I am, but that's because of my personal decision to not fuck the first person I could find. What's that got to do with anything?" she asked.

"I just-, I want you to be sure. I want it to be special for you," Lisa explained. "I don't want you to rush into things because you think that you should."

"That's not why I'm doing this, okay?" Jennie told her. "I can feel you slipping away from me and I just-, I want you back. I want you. And it will be special because it'll be with you, and I love you, and that's why I bought this ridiculous lingerie and a thousand roses." She gave Lisa a smile as she spoke, shrugging nonchalantly.

"Oh," Lisa mumbled softly. "I'm sorry. I-I'm trying to make it easier for you, for when I leave. And for me too."

"But I don't want that," Jennie argued quietly but firmly. "I want you whilst I can have you, and when you go, I'll figure it out. But I don't want half of you when you're still here, because it's going to hurt either way, and I'd rather hurt knowing that we made the most of our time together."

"I'm sorry," Lisa apologised, trailing her fingers down the side of Jennie's face. "I thought I was helping."

"It's okay," Jennie told her, waving away her apologies. "Just come here and kiss me."

"We don't have to. I won't keep my distance, I promise, so we don't have to do this right now," Lisa assured Jennie.

"Please, that's not the only reason why I want to sleep with you," Jennie laughed, laying one hand on Lisa's thigh and sliding it upwards, smirking as she raised an eyebrow at her.

Lisa let out a quiet laugh, and the next thing Jennie knew was she was pinned down beneath the weight of Lisa, with her mouth pressing hot kisses all over her. Jennie's heart was racing as Lisa's kisses moved lower and lower until she hit the waistband of Jennie's underwear. And then Lisa was pressing kisses to the inside of Jennie's thighs, sending waves of heat through Jennie's body.

Moving back up, Lisa recaptured Jennie's lips with her own, and guided her further up the bed. Jennie shoved the pillows out of the way, before bringing her hands up to take Lisa's glasses off. Lisa straddled Jennie and one hand searched along Jennie's back for her bra clasp, which she quickly undid. Jennie slipped her bra off and threw it across the room, shivering with pleasure at Lisa's gentle touch.

"Just tell me if you want me to stop at any point, or if something's wrong," Lisa whispered, her hands warm as they explored Jennie's body.

-----

Jennie woke up the next morning to Lisa pressed up against her back. She wasn't sure what time it was as she sat up, bleary eyed as she yawned. Pulling the sheets up around her naked body, Jennie looked down at Lisa, eyes shut and mouth open slightly as she breathed evenly.

Sitting up and glancing around the room, Jennie ran her fingers through her tangled hair as she looked for her clothes. Lisa stirred at Jennie's movement, and a second later her eyes opened and she smiled up at Jennie.

"Good morning," Lisa murmured, rubbing her eyes as she sat up. The covers pooled down around her waist and Jennie bent down to press a kiss to the exposed skin of Lisa's shoulder.

"Good morning," Jennie smiled back, brushing the hair out of Lisa's face so she could kiss her.

"How're you feeling?" Lisa asked, looking around for her glasses. Jennie plucked them off the nightstand next to her and held them out to Lisa with a smile.

"Mmm, good," Jennie told her, her eyes bright and her cheeks slightly flushed.

"Good?" Lisa echoed, her eyebrows raised slightly with concern.

"Very good," Jennie whispered, smiling as she leant in to give Lisa another kiss. Lisa mirrored her smile as she brushed Jennie's hair away from her neck. Her smile dropped and she looked up at Jennie with wide eyes and a look of panic.

"Please don't be mad," Lisa said, biting her lip as she tried not to smile.

"What?" Jennie asked, her pulse speeding up as her body went into alarm mode.

"I may or may not have accidentally given you a hickey, right... here," Lisa laughed, poking the spot on Jennie's neck gently.

"You're kidding right?" Jennie said, her eyes going wide at Lisa's words. Lisa covered her mouth with her hand as she tried not to smile, throwing Jennie an apologetic look. Jennie's hand clamped down on the spot that Lisa poked, and she scrambled out of bed to check in the mirror on her vanity.

"Fuck!" Jennie swore, looking at the purple bruise on her neck. "It's not funny, Lisa!" Jennie said, turning around to scowl at Lisa, who had flopped down on her back and dissolved into a fit of
