(Rin's P.O.V.) You weren't expecting that now were you?

I was walking to the academy on a fresh spring morning. I could smell the fragrance of the beautifully bright flowers. As I observed the scenery, I saw Kakashi. My eyes lit up and a smile adorned my face as I saw the young silverette, until I noticed that he was waiting for something, or rather someone.

'Who could he be waiting for?' I thought to myself.

All my questions were answered when none other then (Y/n) walked out of the building. I watched in silence as they began to head in the direction of the academy.

At first I was going to catch up and walk with them, until some random thoughts popped up in my head.

'Why did they walk out of the same house together?'

'Why do they also walk home together everyday?'

'Why is it that she seems closer to Kakashi then I am?'

'Do they live together?'

'Are they dating?'

The last two questions made me feel a weird feeling. It could be sadness, jealousy, anger, or envy. Maybe even all in one. I tried to shake off all the thoughts as I rushed to school.

I sit down at the back of class and stare out the window deep in thought.

"Hey Rin, are you okay?"

I look over my shoulder to see a worried Obito.

"Yeah I'm okay." I answered, nodding my head.

He gave me a doubtful look so I flashed him a bright smile. He blushed a bit and looked away as the teacher walked in. The teacher started going on about something but I wasn't paying much attention.

"Okay class, follow me outside where we will start practicing." Noboyuki-sensei said.

At this my ears shot up as I immediately followed Noboyuki-sensei's directions. He led us to an open area near the school and asked us to get in a group of two. As he said that my eyes searched the field quickly and spotted (Y/n) walking over to Kakashi.

'This is my chance!' I thought to myself. I ran to (Y/n) and grabbed her hand before she could reach my beloved Kakashi. Just as I did that Obito grabbed Kakashi by the arm.

"Alright. Now that everybody has a partner you can begin sparring.

[(Y/n)'s P.O.V.]

I was just about to ask Kakashi to be my sparring partner when someone came up to me and grabbed my hand. I looked to the person slightly annoyed but then softened my facial features when I saw it was just Rin. My normal expression became that of a confused one when I saw that she was not looking at me but someone else.

"Okay class, follow me outside where we will start practicing." I heard Noboyuki-sensei say.

I looked at Rin and took a couple steps back before she stopped me by asking a question.

"I'm sorry, what exact are we supposed to be doing? "She asked with an apologetic smile.

I shook my head at her question but answered her anyways. "We are s-supposed to be showing off o-our ninjutsu and taijutsu in a l-little practice b-battle, letting us both see some of our w-weaknesses and strength so we can i-improve them." I explained.

She nodded and took a couple steps back. "Thank you." She said as we both bowed and took our stances.

She came full speed at me. I quickly stepped to the side, effectively dodging her attack, and stuck my right foot out. She tripped over it but regained her balance turning for a high roundhouse kick to my face.I ducked before it could connect with my skin.

"Hey (Y/n)?" Rin called out as she threw some shuriken at me.

"Yeah?" I said as I took out my kunai knives and blocked them all and threw some of my own at her, making sure that they're not aiming for any vital spots.

"Is it okay if ask you a couple of questions?" She asked as she dodged all of mine by simply running off to the side.

"Sure." I said as I made a couple of hand signs. "Fire Ball Jutsu!" I shouted as a medium sized fire ball came flying at her. Just as it looked like it hit, a burnt log fell from where Rin last stood. I feel a breeze behind me as I turn around quickly, putting my arms to my chest in a x like figure, quickly blocking her punch. I cringe at the impact thanking myself for turning around in time.

"What is your relationship with Kakashi?" She asked as she jumped away releasing more shuriken my way.

I blush a bit but I don't believe anyone noticed. "W-what do you mean?" I stuttered as I dodged all the shuriken this time.

"Are you two dating?" She asked with a more serious face as she sped towards me again getting ready for close combat.

"No. W-why do you ask?" I said as I blocked a punch with one arm and used my other to let my palm connect with her stomach, making her fly back a couple inches. After she regained herself she came at me again.

"You two seem pretty close." She said with a glint of sadness in her eyes as she pulled out her kunai and aimed it at my arm.

I countered with my own and infused my chakra with my free hand, sending a punch strait to her chest. "What m-makes you s-say that?" I asked.

"Well for starters, you two are almost always together; you even walk home together. I also saw you walking out of the same apartment while I was on my way here."She breathed out as she tried to get up from the hard blow I gave her.

"T-that's because we are j-just really good friends and we live right n-next to each other. Not to m-mention I'm really good friends w-with his father." I explained as I decided to drag this mini battle of ours out. I could've ended the battle 2 minutes ago if I pleased but then it wouldn't have been as interesting.

"Is that so?" She asked as she finally recovered and came flying at me with a flurry of punches.

"Yeah." I said as I dodged all of her punches and caught the last one. I tightened my grip around her fist and grabbed her other arm. I swung my legs forward making them connect with hers in one swift motion. As she fell backwards I twisted her body around and so her back was toward me when she dropped to the floor. I pinned her arms to her back as she struggled to get out of my grasp. "You done?" I asked her.

"Nope." She said as she bucked upwards with a great force making me jump off her.

This time I charged at her as she got up. I threw a fake punch, as she went to dodge it I used my other chakra infused hand and hit her right in the gut. She grabbed her stomach as she coughed up a bit of saliva and gasped in pain. Seeing that she let her guard down for a moment I dropped down and sweep kicked her feet making her drop to the ground. I pulled out my kunai knife back out and held it right to her face as I stood over her small figure. She turned rolled over to see me pointing a kunai knife right at her, she sighed in defeat.

"Alright, you win." She declared as I put my kunai knife away and stretched out a helping hand. She looked at it for a moment before excepting it , allowing me to pull her up.

"You are a very powerful fighter, I wish to spar with you again." Rin said with a smile on her face as she shook my hand.

"Thank you, you are p-pretty good yourself." I said as I shook her hand.

"By the way I got to ask, do you like Kakashi?" She asked, her face suddenly hardening.

I looked at her dead in her eye."And if I said yes...?" I questioned as my face also hardened. 'Before I came to this place, I did have a small crush on Kakashi, but back then I neglected it because I felt that it was wrong to have feelings for a character that was "not real" and WAAAAY older than me. But now here I am. In this world. Getting to meet the real deal. Not to mention, he's my age!' I thought to myself.

"Then from now on we shall be love rivals." She said, holding a steady gaze. I return her gaze, going over my words carefully before speaking them.

"Then so be it. From this day forth, Nohara Rin, you and I are rivals in love."I declared.

"I don't plan on losing." Rin said with a smirk of her own.

"Neither do I." I said as we shook hands once again.

"May the best woman win." Rin said as she retracted her hand from mine.

"Thanks, I will!" I said with a closed eye smile.

With that, we walked to our sensei as he studied the others fighting. He looked up from the small little battles to see us standing beside him.

"Ah, you two are finished! Congratulations! May I ask who won?" Noboyuki-sensei asked.

-"She did."

-"I did." Rin and I said at the same time.

"Well, congratulations (Y/n), and Rin, I'm sure you two had a great fight." Noboyuki-sensei said in a cheery tone.

"Thank you Noboyuki -sensei!" We said simultaneously.

I scan the field in search of your two black eyed friends. It didn't take long to see Kakashi and Obito. Obito was on the floor looking pissed and Kakashi was standing in front of him, arms crossed and a bored expression painted on his face. Kakashi bent down lending a hand to Obito, who unwillingly excepted the hand, and pulled him up. Once they were done shaking hands and stuff They look over and see me and rin staring strait at them. Obito's whole face seamed to light up once he saw Rin. When Kakashi and I eyes met we looked away. I blushed a bit thinking back at me and Rin's earlier conversation. I looked to the side and see that Iruka also finished sparring.

I'll make sure to congratulate him on winning later on. I turn back around to see that Kakashi was now in front of me and Obito in front of Rin.

Third person P.O.V.

"Congrats on winning." You spoke as you neared the silver headed boy. He only shrugged at you, to him, it wasn't much of a big deal. Placing both hands in his pockets as he looked at you from the corner of his eyes.

"You say that as if I'd lose." He slightly scoffs, making Obito annoyed by the second.

Catching onto this, you turned to Obito and smiled. "You fought well. Hang in there."

At your words, Obito only gave you a determined grin. "Bext time I'll beat him for sure." All of which, Kakashi had only scoffed at.

"Hey Kakashi! Congratulations on wining the fight!" She said in a very cheery voice.

Kakashi looked at her slightly annoyed but excepted the congrats anyways. You, on the other hand glared daggers at the brunette which she returned with a mischievous smirk.

During your little exchange, your teacher called you guys back to the classroom to finish up the days lesson.
