Clones of myself rushed around the shopping area, gathering much needed materials. I had just walked out one of the stores myself, holding a bag full of random items. In two days time, everyone was to take the final exams and graduate from the academy. Despite that, I knew that Kakashi was to graduate early so I took it upon myself to get him a present. I guess you can say that once I had obtained one gift, I ended up buying a whole bunch of them for future events. Future events like promotion to Chunin, Jonin, ANBU, birthday(s), war events, and even a couple things for Minato, Kushina, Rin, Obito, Iruka, and Guy. Before I could even finish Guy's and get to Asuma and Kurenai, I found myself almost broke. Not completely broke seeing that I tend to separate my money into categories such as spending, emergencies, and saving. Although, I was broke enough to just about panic. It appears that the little snacks I had bought myself would have to last me until I become a full fledged ninja.
I sighed as I jumped from rooftop to rooftop in hopes of getting to my apartment. My aching feet begging to stop but my head silently willing my body to move. Once my apartment was in sight, I dashed up the side of it and went through my window. Upon arrival, I saw that all my other clones had beat me to it and had already brought their bags and items into my room. Setting down my own bags, I plopped onto my bed, seeing that I had came through my bedroom window.
'Now... where am I suppose to put all of those gifts?' I thought to myself. Glancing lazily around my room, my eyes landed upon my bookshelf full of scrolls. "Hm."
Time skip
Looks like Kushina and Minato left for another mission for the house was completely empty of people when I had arrived.
I fell face first onto my bed, immediately burying myself deep withing the comforter and soft, fluffy, pillows. I had successfully sealed and grouped the presents into the scrolls and stored them under my bed. I made sure to write notes on each and every one of them and give them a time lapse, that way if some stupid stuff happens, it wouldn't open until the day that I am actually suppose to give them. I even took the precaution of freezing some of the treats over in ice to make sure that they don't go bad as they wait. Sadly, all of that takes up a lot of time and chakra, leaving me as drowsy as ever. Despite it only being five thirty in the afternoon, I ended up falling into the deep, warm, and comforting abyss of sleep.
I awoke to bright and somewhat welcoming sun peaking into my room. Reaching over my bed and latching onto my phone, I open it up to the home screen and see that I had approximately three hours to get to school. Rolling over to my side, I stretch like a cat before pushing off my bed and leisurely walking to my bedroom door to complete my daily routine.
It wasn't until I was fully dressed and ready did I notice the highlighted day on my calendar. Tomorrow was the graduation day...
'I better spend some time with everyone before we get grouped off into different teams.' I thought to myself. 'But school comes first.'
Grabbing my bag and changing back into my regular human for, seeing that I was a neko at the moment, I exited through my window, not bothering to lock it behind me.
Kakashi's P.O.V.
I was now just a few feet from (Y/n)'s apartment. Walking past her window, I heard a soft "Thump."Turning around, I had spotted the one I was trying to get to.
"Good morning, Kakashi-kun!" She chirped.
"Good morning."
I looked around, scanning the area. 'Where did she come from?' I thought to myself. 'She couldn't have been behind me this whole time, and one does not simply fall from the sky.' The sound I heard was more like someone was landing, so she couldn't have climbed down from the window.
"When did you?" I started.
"I jumped." She stated simply as she pointed to her window. Looking her over again, I couldn't find a simple scratch, meaning that she must have landed perfectly on her feet. But how, She lives on the top floor?!
"Earth to Kakashi, come in Kakashi-kun!" Snapping out of my thoughts, I was met with (Y/n) waving her hand in my face worriedly.
"Huh?"
"Yo Kakashi? You okay?" She asked.
"Oh- Yeah. I'm fine."
She looked at me as if she was not pleased with her answer but shrugged it off.
"We better get going or we'll be late for school." She suggested before turning around to walk ahead. I only watched her, thoughts fogging my mind. Today was the last day at the academy meaning that there is a possibility that we may be split up.
Now hearing a light "tsk" and a light grip on my hand, I looked forward to see that (Y/n) had grabbed a hold of my hand and was now pulling me towards the academy.
"Tch. Kakashi-kun, the final exams is tomorrow. You better not be this spaced out when you become a ninja." Although she had seemed annoyed, I could still hear the light tease in her voice.
At the rate that she was walking, it didn't take long for us to reach the academy. Entering the building, we walked into our classroom and took our seats. She eventually let go of my hand and I inwardly sighed at the loss of contact.
"Good morning, (Y/n)-chan." I heard a voice greet. Taking a quick glance at who it was, I had spotted Iruka who had just took a seat in front of us. Paying him no mind, I began to go back into my train of thoughts.
Seeing that today was technically the last day and there is a possibility of us getting split up when we are put on our teams, I would have to spend as much time with her as possible. Also, last night, I had thought about it for a while, but I had finally made up my mind. Before any of that could happen, I will confess my love to her today.
At first I wasn't as confident because I was never sure about how she felt towards me. She was never upfront about her emotions like Rin or the other girls, nor has she ever appeared to be interested in me. Every time I think that she had gave me a clue, she would then completely change up and put me into the friend-zone. But now, after the Sakura viewing festival that had accrued a couple of days ago, I am sure that she feels the same. And so, as a result, I will tell her how I feel after school. That way, we could be alone without any interruptions.
"Good morning class."
I looked straight ahead to see that our sensei had arrived and began to start class.
"Today we will..." I zoned out again not being able to focus.
Time Skip
Class was now dismissed and I had gotten up and turned to my side. "(Y/n)-" I cut myself off once I had noticed that she was no longer there. My eye twitched in annoyance at the fact that she had disappeared so quickly.
Now running out of the classroom, I began to search the crowd for her. Spotting Obito, I walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Hey, have you seen (Y/n) anywhere?"
"Yeah, she went off with Iruka." He told me as he pointed in the direction of which they had left in. I nodded before running in that direction.
Twenty minutes of searching later, I had saw Iruka walking in the distance. Eyes brightening immediately, I ran over to him and looked around.
"Oh hey, Kakashi." Iruka greeted. "If your looking for (Y/n), she took off to meet with Rin and Obito."
"Thanks." I muttered before fleeing the scene. Once I was out of earshot, I let out a growl of annoyance. How can on person be so hard to locate?
Finally spotting Obito and Rin just about thirty minutes later at a ramen shop, they had told me that she had went to go train with Guy. It wasn't until then that I had decided to take a break. If I know those two, it would take a while for their training session to finish. Unlike the others, I wouldn't dare to interrupt because I know that Guy would only challenge me, ruining my time alone with (Y/n).
Perching myself comfortably on a tree branch, I waited an hour before seeing a (h/n)-ette walk pass with a backpack on her back.
Must be her. I thought to myself before jumping down from the tree.
"(Y/n)!" I called out.
She turned around and looked at me. "Hey Kakashi." She smiled- well closed eye smiled that is.
Not having any patients, I grabbed her hand and began to drag her to a place that she knows all to well.
"Where are we going?" She asked.
"You'll see." I answered.
"But I wanna know." She whined. I smiled at her childishness.
"You will soon enough." I assured her.
I continued to lead her out of the village gates and into the forest. I glance back over to her to see that she was looking around in reconization. I had stopped in middle of a clearing and let go of her hand. In a trans-like state, she instinctively walked over to a boulder and sat on it.
"Brings back some memories doesn't it?" I asked her.
"Yeah..." She whispered, staring into the calm blue pond. I walked over and sat next to her. "So,what's the deal about you bringing me back here?" She asked.
"This seemed like a perfect place with no distractions." I explained.
She tilted her head to the side confusedly, making me explain further.
"There is something I wanted to tell you."
"Well, as long as we are sharing information, then I have something to say as well. But you go first." She said.
"(Y/n)..." I began. "I-." I cut myself off when specks of white caught my eye.
"Times up?" She cried confusedly.
"Times up?" I repeat out loud.
I looked down to see that half of her legs were covered in light blue light.
"Your legs!" I exclaimed in horror.
She looked at her legs before letting out a surprised gasp. She quickly regained her calm posture, but I could see the worry dancing in her eyes.
"Whats happening?" I asked her.
"I don't know! I-" She stopped herself by clutching her head and falling to the side. I instantly caught her and held her close to me to stop her from falling.
"Is there anyway we could stop it?"
"I'm afraid not... But don't worry." She assured. "I'm sure we will meet again."
"How can you be so sure?!"
"I just am. Believe in me. I will find a way. Could you wait for me?"
"(Y/n)..."
By now, her legs were completely covered in an off-white color and all that was left was her hips up was the only thing left. Her arms were rapped around my shoulders for support as I held her lower half firmly. She took of her (color) Hair tie that she always wears and handed it to me.
"I left some scrolls of presents underneath my bed for everyone." She began. "I'll leave you in charge of distributing them for me while I'm gone. The first ones are for the graduation tomorrow. I will also leave you my favorite ribbon to hold onto. That way, you can return it to me once I return." She explained as she began to rap it around my arm. "Think of it as my form of a promise, kay?"
I can only nod as the blueish white light made its way past her belly button.
"Hey, don't cry." She whispered softly as she wiped a tear that I never even noticed was there from my eye. "I'm afraid this is goodbye for now."
My eyes widened as the rest of her began to glow brighter. "No, you can't go yet!" I cried. She turned a bright blue and her body began to deteriorate. I hugged her closer as the blue specks around us began to increase. "Please don't go, I...I lo-" She bursted into a million specks of blue and white lights. "-ve you..."
I fell to my knees hugging myself as I stared at the ground. Silent tears streamed down my face as the little lights floated about the air freely before fading into the still night air. I looked up to see the moon was out. I never noticed how dark and cold it was until now. I sat there helplessly and held onto the ribbon that was loosely tied around my right arm.
Eventually, I stood up slowly and began to walk home, silently hoping that this all was just a genjutsu and that she would be at home chomping away at some dango.
"Yeah. That's got to be it." Closing my eyes, I gather up all my chakra and shout, "Release!" Not seeing any changes here, I run back to the village with all of my remaining strength. I ran past the gates, past the dango shop, the ramen shop, all of the other shops, and straight to her house. Not bothering with the normal entrance, I climb to her window and entered through there.
"(Y/n)!?" I called.
But there was no answer. The place was deadly silent, not a single soul to be found. I searched the whole house and found absolutely nothing. Going back to her room, I opened the door and spotted something across her bed. Walking up to it, I sit on the bed and grab the object that had caught my attention. Pulling it onto my lap to get a better view of it, I realized that it was a picture of us from the festival.
"Could you wait for me?"
Her soft and assuring voice rang out through my head. I cried quietly, letting my tears hit my lap as I grip the picture.
"I'll be waiting for you...(Y/n)"

See, what'd I tell you? You guys are gonna hate me for what I just did. Alas, it can't be helped. I'll make up for it in the future.
I already started working on the original sequel to this, but it is currently closed for editing, and developing. I'm sure the original readers are already aware of it's existence. Anyways, once I get far enough in writing it, I'll publish it for all you people to read.
Before anything though, I just want to warn you, I will write/do a lot of things that you guys may not understand, but I promise you this.
They WILL be cleared in the future and maybe someday, I could come back and explain everything in the end.
Until we meet again~
