U only call me when it's raining out...

Grayson's POV

I grabbed her hand, leading her through the forest, the crisp air blowing on our faces, staining our cheeks a light rosy colour. I look back at her as she giggles lightly. The pace quickens, and in a short amount of time, we begin running at full speed through the forest.

"Grayson, where are you taking me?" She huffs tugging on my hand signalling that she is tired of running.

"I'm taking you to see if you remember, if it's is connected," I answer looking back at her, gasping lightly for air.

"If what is connected?" She asks confused.

"If our dreams are connected," I state grabbing her handing, intwining our figures, as we begin to walk deeper into the forest.

After a short 5 minutes, we arrive. I stop looking around, remembering the forest I hadn't explored for what seemed like forever. I snap back into reality as a quiet twig being broken can be heard in my near distance. I look around frantically, noticing that Amelia had disappeared. I begin to walk in the direction of the noise and I notice the sounds getting louder and louder signalling that I am getting closer and then... It all stops.

I stop, before continuing to walk, this time faster, yet more cautious. I slow down as Amelia comes into my sight, sitting on a small rock hedge, overlooking a house. I slowly walk towards her, staring deeply at the house in front of us.

"This was your house, wasn't it?" She asked, still staring at the newly decorated home. I sit down next to her, nodding my head.

"What happened to your treehouse?" She asked, looking towards me, her head resting in her hands above her lap.

"It's deeper into the forest- wait how do you know about this, about my house and the treehouse?" I ask confused, a little alarmed.

"I guess our dreams are connected." She says breathing out lightly.

"Amelia, I'm sorry for coming on so strong, I knew you didn't remember me but I was just so, so,"

"Curious," She finishes.

"You don't have to wait anymore Grayson, I'm here, and I'm not leaving. Not today, not tomorrow, not next week, not next month."

"Why?" I ask, confused as to how this beautiful girl I had seen in my dreams would ever want to stay.

She stands up, dusting her blue denim jeans lightly with her hands, before reaching for mine. I accept, allowing her to help me up. She leads me into the forest like I had done not so long ago. She stops after a short while, looking into the distance. Her lips curling up into a smile as her eyes light up. I look ahead noticing the old, rickety tree house I once spent hours and hours in. She tugs on my arm running forward slightly. She plops onto her knees, in front of the ladder, pushing leaves away from the base of the tree. A small, dirty piece of plastic becomes visible and she smiles again, reaching for the muddy item. She grabs a tissue out of her backpack, along with a bottle of water, dropping a few drops on the end of the tissue, watching as it soaks up the water quickly. She wipes all of the mud and dirt off the surface of the plastic revealing a polaroid.

She presents it to me, showing me the photo of a young boy on his birthday.

"Because Grayson, we never gave up on each other as children, and I am not giving up on you now."

"Why?" My eyes begin to sting as a small glossy layer appears.

"Because I love you, Grayson."

"I love you too."
