Ruka isn't dead.

The Christmas season was in the air at Tengen's house. The tree was fully decorated, decorations were all ever the house in an organized, flamboyant way. It was perfect and tonight was Christmas eve. Only one more day before the day of festive joy and cheer and Rengoku was especially excited because they were having Christmas with his side of the family. That night Tengen and Kyojuro were having some dinner at their house with their friends, Shinobu, Mitsuri, Iguro, Sanemi, and even Tomioka was there. It was a fun night, most were going to be sending time with family and loved ones which is what the Christmas holidays are about. For some people at least. The friendly dinner ended at about 10 o'clock at night but what ever. Kyojuro and Tengen both fell asleep spooning each other. When Tengen woke he quicky noticed that his husband wasn't in bed with him, so he dressed for the day. He walked into the kitchen thinking his husband would be there but found some hot, freshly made pancakes and a note saying 'for you xx'. Rengoku had made breakfast for him, Tengen smiled. "Morning love" said a familiar voice, and the lovely chef walks in the room wearing skinny jeans, a over-sized sweatshirt that was clearly Tengen's, and he had a bold red apron with white lace on the bottom edge. Rengoku walked up to Tengen and gave him a big hug. "Merry Christmas babe" Tengen said returning the hug and gave a quick kiss on the head. "Merry Christmas" replied Rengoku, readjusting his apron, Tengen smirked at the action. "Trying to be cute, and sexy in one, eh?" He said smugly, his husband scoffed at comment. Which in turn made Tengen give a small chuckle. "Just eat your breakfast and get your face ready because we're leaving soon" Rengoku said pointing at the pancakes. "It's quite early to be going over to your families house" Tengen replied. "It's quarter past nine, someone slept in" Rengoku said in a joking manner. Tengen had eaten his breakfast and finished getting ready and was walking out the bathroom when the car keys were thrown at him. "Your driving, come on" Rengoku said carrying a bag filled with presents for his family. "Okay, okay someone's in a a rush to get there" Tengen said jokingly. "I don't want to keep them waiting" he replied, walking to the front door. Tengen quicky grabbed his phone and wallet then followed his husband out the door locking it behind him. The car ride to Rengoku's parents home was about a 20 minute drive, so they turned on some music. Just some generic Christmas music. And the drive there went by very quickly. They parked right outside the house, and Rengoku grabbed the bag and went straight to the front door leaving his husband behind. His younger brother answered the door to him. "Senjuro!", "Aniki!" Both embraced each other, it had been a while Rengoku has seen his brother. "Merry Christmas Sen" Rengoku said cheerfully stepping inside the house, "merry Christmas" Senjuro replied. Tengen was standing just outside the door and smiled at the two brothers. "Merry Christmas bubs" called a woman voice it was Rengoku's mother Ruka. She came up to her son hugging him, and kissing his cheek. "Come in, come in" she said doing the hand gestures, leading them to the living room. Tengen had closed the front door behind him and followed. The house was nicely decorated it was a warm fiery feeling being in this house. "Oh, Tengen lovely to see you" Ruka said hugging him. "Oh I'm finally noticed" Tengen said jokingly, softly laughing hugging Ruka back. Rengoku and Ruka also laughed. Senjuro also walked up to hug Tengen. "I'm glad you could make it, you two" Ruka said walking to the kitchen in the next room grabbing something. "Well thanks for inviting us" Tengen said sitting on one of the couches, Rengoku join to sit down next to him. Ruka came back with with a small plate of gingerbread men. "Kyojuro you made it" a man's voice called out. It was Shinjuro Rengoku's father. "Father it's so good to see you" Rengoku replied getting up and going over to hug his dad. "And remember Tengen is joining us this Christmas" he cheerfully said. "Merry Christmas, Shinjuro" Tengen said walking up to the older man giving him a hand shake. Tengen knew Shinjuro wasn't a big fan of him even though Kyojuro and him have been married for well over a year. He's was just protective was all. "Merry Christmas" Shinjuro replied. The rest of the day was fun with all the gifts that were given and a little nerve raking for some with Tengen almost getting beaten up. But all in all it was a fun family time.
