I slowly open my eyes to be blinded by a bright white light. I blink rapidly trying to get them to adjust. When they do, the previous memories come flooding back and I realize my pain is gone; only my legs feel somewhat sore.

I dart up and look around the room to see I'm in the guild's infirmary. I look and see closed curtains three beds down from mine. As I get up, the door swings open revealing Mira.

"Good to see you're awake," she says.

"How long was I out?"

"Only a day, and if you want to change, your bag is on the chair behind you."

"What about Mystogan?" I ask.

She hesitates and sends me a soft look. "He was in really bad condition. Wendy managed to stabilize him and she's done all she can. We just have to wait."

"Wait. What do you mean Wendy stabilized him?" I ask, slightly confused.

"She uses healing magic; that's why you don't feel any pain. She's resting now."

"Thank you, Mira," I say.

"I'll leave you alone with him," she says, exiting the room and closing the door.

I get up and walk over to my bag. I take out a pair of sweatpants and a loose t-shirt. I walk to the bathroom and take a quick shower, getting the rest of the dirt out of my hair.

I change, walk out of the bathroom, and over to the curtain. I hesitantly put my hand on the end and start pushing it back slowly.

My eyes start to sting as I look down at Mystogan's limp figure. He still has his mask on with only a hospital gown. I sit in the chair next to the bed and stare at his face. I then take his hand and encase it in both of mine.

"You have to be okay," I whisper through light tears.

I sit there for what seems to be hours, staring, waiting. I watch his face every once in a while it scrunch in pain. My stomach growls, bringing me back to the world. I decide to go down to the bar and get some food. I stand up and kiss Mystogan's forehead on his mask.

I walk out the infirmary doors and down the stairs as people give me questioning and confused looks. I sit on a bar stool looking at Mira.

"What's everyone's deal?" I ask.

"They're just wondering how and why you were with Mystogan. I mean, he got so badly injured and this has never happened."

"Well, that's understandable," I mumble. "Can I get a (F/F) and a water please? I'm starving."

"Sure thing." She turns and walks into the kitchen.

I stare at the different brands of alcohol on the wall when a pink haired air head walks up behind me.

"So, (Y/N), when do you think I'll be able to fight Mystogan?" he asks.

I turn to him with a death glare and he slowly backs away. "Nevermind."

Mira walks back over with my food and drink. "It's on the guild," she insists, setting it down.

"Thanks," I smile, starting to gobble down every bit of it.

"(Y/N), I want to see you in my office immediately," I hear Master order from the second floor.

I quickly finish my food and head up to his office, going in and shutting the door. "Yes, Master?"

"Tell me what happened."

I sigh and explain the whole attack with the journey home. It hurts the more I think about it, but push my feelings aside.

He stares at me with extremely shocked eyes. "A dragon?"

I nod. "If Gildarts hadn't shown up, we'd be dragon food."

"This isn't good. Thank you for bringing him home."

"Of course," I nod, walking out of his office and back to the infirmary.

It's been three weeks since we were attacked. I've stayed by Mystogan's side almost every moment of the day, waiting for him to wake up. The only people allowed to see him are myself, Master, Wendy, and Porlyusica.

I sit on a chair and stare out the infirmary window. I glance over at Mystogan's unconscious figure then back to the scenery.

"Don't you dare die on me you asshole."

"That's not very nice," I hear a rough voice reply.

"Well, you are one," I let slip out then dart my head back to see the lower part of Mystogan's mask pulled down and his eyes on me.

I feel the tears build in my eyes as I jump up and tackle him in a calm yet firm hug. "I'm so happy you're awake."

"I'm glad you're okay," he says, hugging me back.

"How do you feel?" I ask.

"Fine. My back and ribs are a little sore, but that's it. How long was I out?"

I pull away and sit in the chair next to his bed while he sits up against the headboard. "Three weeks. Wendy and Porlyusica have been helping you everyday and Master made sure no one was aloud to come up here."

"Damn. At least I'm alive...and starving."

"What do you want to eat?"

"Burger, fries, and a water. If you don't mind?'

"Not at all. Be right back," I say, getting up and jogging out of the infirmary doors and down the stairs into the noisy guild.

"Mira, can I get a burger with fries and a water please?"

"That's unusual for you."

"It's for Mystogan."

At my words, the whole guild goes silent. I don't turn around and instead wait for the food. When Mira hands it to me, I finally turn to see all eyes on me, unsure of what to do, I say the first thing that comes to mind.

"He's awake and he's going to be fine."

After another second of silence, the guild erupts into cheers. I roll my eyes and walk up the stairs and back into the infirmary. I look to see Mystogan has changed into a pair of grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt.

I walk over and hand him the tray of food that he quickly starts eating. I sit back, watching him eat, and can't help but chuckle.

I'm so happy he's back. I don't know what I would do without him.

After finishing, he sets the tray on the side table. "Want to go for a walk? It's kind of late so there shouldn't be many people on the streets," I ask.

"Sure, but considering I haven't walked in three weeks, you might need to be my crutch."

I let out a small laugh. "Deal," I agree, standing and putting out my hand to help him up.

He puts his arm around my shoulders and I put my arm around his waist for support. The close contact makes a blush form on my cheeks, but I use all my energy to push it back.

"Ready?" I ask.

He pulls up his lower mask as far as he can and pulls his hat down just enough for him to see then slips on his sandals. "Yup."

We walk out the infirmary doors where the remaining people in the guild go completely silent.

"This is getting old," I mumble.

We slowly walk down the wooden steps to be met with all eyes on us. I just shake it off as we start walking through the crowd of people and toward the door. Not even Natsu dared to say something. Even though no one except Master knew what happened that day, everyone assumed it must've been pretty damn horrible if it could wipe out Mystogan who's rumored to be the strongest member of Fairy Tail.

When we walk out the doors, I can hear murmurs about what happened and if we were a 'thing.' I ignore them as much as possible and keep walking while holding up Mystogan.

The sun is just beginning to set with a few early stars in the sky. The streets are basically deserted with only a few citizens here and there.

We walk into Magnolia Park before one of us finally speaks.

"So, how did we get out of that? I only remember some things, but it's all kind of spotty," he questions.

"Like what?"

We sit on a bench, continuing the conversation while he pulls the bottom part of his mask under his chin. "The roar striking me after my attack, flying through a couple trees, then I heard you say you were sorry."

"Yeah, that sums it up, I guess. Except we wouldn't have gotten out of there if Gildarts hadn't appeared and saved us."

"Gildarts, huh? I guess we were pretty damn lucky. Also, how'd we get home?"

"Well..." I pause, cracking a smirk. "I had to carry your heavy ass all the way back to Magnolia."

"Wait, wait. You ran all the way back to Magnolia with me on your back?" Mystogan starts laughing hysterically.

"It was either that or leave you for dead and I obvious would never do that because of how much I like you." I put a hand over my mouth as my face turns fifty shades of red from embarrassment.

"What?" he asks, staring blankly at me.

"I-I n-nothing!" I turn away, only for him to grab my chin and bring my head back to face his.

"I, uh, like you, too," he reveals, hesitantly closing the gap between us with our lips crashing together.

I sit stunned for a moment then kiss him back. It's rough with passion, like he's wanted to do this for a long time. We pull away all too soon and look into each others eyes.

"By the way, why did you say you were sorry?" he asks.

I stare at him trying to process what had just happened and what he just said. We simultaneously sit back on the bench while he wraps an arm around my shoulders.

"I was sorry because I couldn't protect you," I look up at him to see he has a confused look.

"We're both alive now and that's all that matters," Mystogan assures me, kissing the top of my head.

"We should head back to the guild. It's getting late."

He groans as I help him back up and he secures his mask. We walk back to the guild in silence, enjoying the now dark starlit sky.

When we get back, almost all the guild members have went home. We manage to sneak past them and up to the infirmary where I help Mystogan back into bed and we kick off our shoes.

As I turn to walk over to the other bed, I stop when he speaks. "Lock the door."

"Uhh, why?" I question as many thoughts race through my head, causing my cheeks to tint pink.

"Get your mind out of the gutter. I want to take off my mask and I know Master told everyone not to come up here, but I can't risk Porlyusica or Wendy seeing me," he states, taking off his full mask revealing his messy blue hair.

"Oh." I walk to the door and lock it, going back to the bed I've been sleeping in for almost a month.

"Come over here," Mystogan demands.

I raise an eyebrow and walk over to him where he then grabs my arm and pulls my into the bed with my back to his chest.

"This is the other reason," he whispers huskily in my ear, sending a chill down my spine.

I smile as he wraps his muscular arm securely around my waist and close my eyes as we both drift off into a peaceful sleep.
