Two Invisible Moons

"The two moons were up in the sky,

among the wind and clouds."

#WINisWIND

In a night, how many times have you looked upon the sky and watched the moon?

For me, I did it more often than I can count.

Nevertheless, it felt different than before.

I used to dream that I would be so happy if I were the moon high up in the sky. It would certainly be better than being the invisible air or a rock which no one cared about.

Today, I realised that I thought wrong.

In truth, the moon that we saw from here might look shiny and beautiful, however, no one stopped to think that the moon in the sky had been shining for others alone, day by day. The epitome of loneliness.

So, I didn't want to become the moon anymore.

The air was still the air, the wind was still the wind. We could be happy just by being ourselves and didn't need to be in the centre of attention. It's enough that we were happy and proud to be ourselves.

What about the love story of the moon and the air?

Well, the air had evaporated, up high and became the cloud, embracing the moon, and eventually developed to be the wind moon. Both invisible moons stayed together, and hidden in the sky.

This was how our story ended — Me and P'In.

One Invisible Moon was still in the sky and the other Invisible Moon was hidden behind the clouds.

We were still in love and happy, but we didn't announce our relationship to the public. P'In was still actively working as a UNISTAR member. Although DomKati already knew that P'In had a boyfriend, they still supported P'In as they always did. Compared to before, when some of his fans used to think that P'In might become a monk after graduating, now they thought that he might marry me instead.

However, it wasn't a surreal fairytale. Not everyone accepted our relationship. Some of his fans couldn't accept it, so they quit the fandom or changed to support someone else. Before, P'In didn't have any anti-fans, but now he gained some. Some people still bullied me on social media, but it wasn't often, and I had already gotten used to it.

Although some of P'In's fans became anti-fans, the number of his fans didn't decrease at all, instead it increased steadily as he had also become an idol for the LGBTQ community now. P'In became the face of many LGBTQ campaigns to support the idea that our society should treat every gender equally.

As for me, MW Entertainment initially wanted to debut me as an idol. They told me that my fans had increased a lot since the UNISTAR contest. My looks and image also matched various types of projects. I received many offers, including participating in a boy band and acting. There was also a director who asked me to be the main protagonist in a boys' love series too.

Well, in the end I turned down every one of them because P'In wasn't happy with those projects. He said if I joined the boy group, I would have to stay in a dorm with other boys, and P'In didn't want to see me paired up with other boys.

The boys' love series was even worse. P'In was against projects that would involve me hugging or kissing other male actors, let alone any love scenes. This sent PD Kwang to his wit's end. Eventually, I worked as a freelance artist under MW Entertainment. I would only do some part-time work whenever I had free time. I could select the work I wanted to do. The only condition was that I couldn't work for other entertainment companies. So most of my work revolved around variety shows, advertisement shoots or acting as a supporting character in TV dramas and music videos.

I was totally fine with P'In limiting my type of work as I understood him. Plus, becoming an idol wasn't my dream anymore. If the situation was reversed and P'In needed to stay in the same room with other members, or he was paired with other male members or he acted in a love scene with someone else, I would feel a bit jealous too.

Because of this, PD Kwang was always complaining to us. It was quite troublesome when an idol had a personal relationship. However, PD Kwang understood how we felt because he said his boyfriend was a jealous guy as well.

In conclusion, our life went on smoothly. We didn't need to talk a lot, but we could understand each other without needing to say much. I was so happy to be his boyfriend and if I could be with P'In forever, I didn't care whether I lived a fading life or not anymore.

Today was Rose Day. A year has passed since I became an XU student. I was currently in my second year, and Rose Day was one of the biggest events at my university. Every Moon from all faculties would give a rose with their name tags attached to anyone who they thought was the most beautiful.

My university was very crowded today, since a lot of Unity came to see P'Wayu and P'In, me as well. Because I have lived like a fading person since the UNISTAR contest ended, people rarely saw me in public.

Even though today was an important day, I was still fading.

P'In wore our university uniform, with the UNISTAR brooch on his chest. He was standing near the garden lake, away from the crowd. P'In was very handsome as always, like the first day I met him.

As if he was an angel.

P'In was waiting for me, with the rose in his hand. It was similar to what I got last year. But somehow, the feeling might be different. It made me excited.

"Can see?" P'In asked when I arrived.

I laughed.

"Why're you laughing?" He asked curiously.

"Nothing." I held my laugh, stood by his side and watched the fish in the lake.

"I just recalled the first day I met you," I said.

"You said the exact same thing to me."

"Really?" P'In was thinking. "Oh, right. That time you looked confused too."

"R...really?" I gasped. "You still remember?"

"Yes." He said.

I was impressed. We both still remembered the first time we met.

"It's yours..."

Suddenly, P'In handed his rose to me. My heart raced.

"T...Thank you."

I took it. I felt so happy and shy. Even though I got it last year as well, this year felt even more special.

His rose with the tag written 'IN, Business Moon, 4th year'.

"Where's your rose?" P'In asked. His eyes were fixed on the rose in my hand, which had the tag written 'Win, Business Moon, 2nd year'.

"Do you want it?"

"Yep." P'In didn't hide it at all, he even reached his hand forward.

"Give me."

My face blushed.

"But...they said I should give it to the most beautiful person for me." I was hesitant when I realised the meaning of this rose.

"Aren't I?" P'In tilted his head, his expression as blank as can be.

"Huh?"

Wait. Just for one rose, P'In was willing to be beautiful? Seriously?

"You're handsome, not beautiful." I explained.

"But I want your rose." P'In didn't seem like he would give up until he got what he wanted.

"So are you okay with the meaning?" I asked.

In truth, I was just worried if he would feel weird receiving this rose, as it was for a 'beautiful person'.

"Why not?" P'In said. "I give you, isn't because you're beautiful."

"Oh...?" I blinked.

He didn't give it to me because he thought I was beautiful?

P'In looked at me gently.

"I gave it to you because I like you."

He was very direct, so I lowered my head shyly.

"Last year as well?" I was bashful, I kept moving my fingers randomly.

"That time, I thought it suited you." P'In said.

"Oh?" I was a little confused.

Anyway, P'In was this kind of person. What he said was what he meant, nothing more. He might have said it too briefly that we needed to interpret it.

"Then, I'll give you too." I handed the rose to P'In.

His lips curled into a smirk, then he took it.

"Give me because of what?" P'In asked.

"Because..."

I already had the answer in my mind, but it took a lot of courage to voice it out.

"Because I want you to be mine."

Oh no. I wanted to hide myself. It was too embarrassing!

Nevertheless, P'In leaned closer to me, my face was so hot by now.

"W...what're you doing?" My voice trembled.

"What did you say?" He asked.

"You didn't hear it?"

"I heard." He was smiling.

"But I wanna hear it again."

I immediately felt like I was melting to the ground.

"You want the rose, but I want you."

As soon as I said that, I saw the smiling moon shining in front of me. P'In gave me a happy smile and touched my head softly. I could feel the love from him.

"Cough! I found you!"

Suddenly, we were interrupted by someone — P'Wayu.

I had a weird feeling about this because my invisibility didn't seem to work with P'Wayu anymore. Perhaps because he already saw me without makeup too many times. Consequently, P'In was also no longer invisible to P'Wayu as well.

"N'Win krub. I'll give you my rose, as I like you the most."

P'Wayu grinned and handed me the rose with the tag written 'Wayu, Engineering Moon, 3rd year'.

I widened my eyes because it was the rose that could start a war among DomWhai. A war that was even worse than American football.

However, P'In blocked P'Wayu from coming closer to me.

"You can't!" P'In stared at him.

P'Wayu raised his eyebrows and smiled.

"Well, P'In. We only have one rose though, and there is no rule that we can't give it to the same person."

"I won't let Win get it from anyone else." P'In said sternly.

P'Wayu whistled.

"Well, well, you're such a narrow minded person. You want Win to be your exclusive fanboy?"

"No." P'In denied.

"Huh?" I didn't expect this. I thought P'In would say yes. He didn't want me to only be his DomKati?

P'Wayu seemed surprised as well.

"Win isn't my fanboy."

P'In turned to me and then looked at P'Wayu.

"He is my boyfriend."

His words shocked me and P'Wayu.

Was P'In influenced by P'Wayu's lame jokes?

"Win." P'In called my name.

"Yes?"

"Which moon only belongs to IN?" P'In asked me with such a serious expression.

"Uh..." I was stunned by his question. It was unexpected.

"If you answer it wrong, I'll be sad."

It was so obvious that I needed to answer this one correctly.

"The moon who is named 'Win'." I answered.

My face turned so red, even my ears were red.

"What? P'In?!" P'Wayu couldn't accept it and went frantic.

Actually, P'Wayu's lame joke wasn't any better.

"Wayu." P'In called him and pointed in another direction.

"Look at the dog."

"Huh? Dog where?"

P'Wayu turned around immediately.

"Did that Dog Moon dare to come here?"

I was also confused, as I didn't even see a single dog.

However, P'In just held my hand and rushed away from there, while P'Wayu was distracted.

"P'In..." I exclaimed.

"Shhh..." P'In gestured for me to stay silent.

So I just smiled.

He just wanted to spend time with me, just the two of us.

I wanted to be alone with him too.

We were both holding hands and running, passing through the group of students and crowd, but no one noticed us.

Even though both P'In and I were the University's Moon.

Even though P'In was a UNISTAR member, and I was the first runner up of the UNISTAR contest.

The both of us could stay in the sky, hidden among the wind and clouds.

Only the two of us together, only the two of us able to see each other.

We were the two Invisible Moons.

Existing, but unseeable.
