"Your mom is going to die"

Nayeon has gone over to Jeongyeon's home for the last time with the pure intention of truly cutting ties with her.

Jeongyeon on the other hand is hanging on to the last thread of connection to her beloved Nayeon.

"Please. Keep my mom out of your mouth. I don't care if go millions of wons in debt, I just want to have control of my own life again."

"Your life will be ruined in the long term, for what? Some short term happiness"

"I haven't felt happy in a long time thanks to you. I'm done living for others. I'll prioritize my mom, but I'm going to start trying to be happy with what I have now.

Please, I'm really asking you to leave me be. If you really love me as you say, you'll support me.

Goodbye Jeongyeon."

Jeongyeon lifts her hand ready to reach for Nayeon to keep her. But her last words rang in her mind.

'I should support her if I love her...'

Nayeon escapes from Jeongyeon's mansion of a home satisfied yet empty. Jeongyeon had been the biggest part of her life for the past years.

Regardless of their latest years as a fake couple. Nayeon is still fond of their earliest memories of being innocent middle schoolers.

Jeongyeon was once the only person she had in her life, but their relationship ruined everything.

'It's for the best'

Nayeon leaned her head on the bus window thinking about her now bittersweet memories with Jeongyeon.

"Yah! When did you break up?" Jihyo interrogated Nayeon at the Twice lunch table

News about Jeongyeon and Nayeon's breakup flooded the school.

"Don't worry. It was a mutual decision" Nayeon assured her friends.

The last thing she wanted was for things to be awkward within their friend group. All she wanted was to pursue a drama free, happy life.

"But she keeps staring at you from the track table"

Nayeon peers over to where the track team sits and sees Jeongyeon looking straight at her.

They immediately break the awkward eye contact.

"Oh well. At least you're moved on Nayeon. Now we can go partying as single ladies." Momo says with too much excitement in her voice.

"I don't have time for partying" Nayeon rolls her eyes.

The group of friends continued to chatter.

"Shoot your shot"

Chaeyoung tells Mina at their own isolated table

Mina raises an eyebrow

"Nayeon is single now. And you're first in line"

"We're just friends Chaeyoung"

"So you're telling me you wouldn't want to date the Im Nayeon? The girl anyone would get on their knees for at Hanlim?"

Mina stops to think. She'd never even considered seeing Nayeon in a romantic way...

'Me and Nayeon...?'

Mina violently shakes her head out of thinking further into such ridiculous thoughts. Nayeon just got out of a long toxic relationship. There's no way she would be ready to date.

And there's no way she would want to date Mina... right?

"Don't miss your chance Mina. Because everyone else is already taking theirs."

Coincidentally at the same moment Chaeyoung and Mina look over to see the a group of boys circling Nayeon.

One boy has flowers in his hands. Mina can't make out what he's saying but based on the boy's action of offering Nayeon flowers he probably confessed.

'Don't miss your chance...'

Mina repeated Chaeyoung's words in her head.

—-

Mina creaks open the door to the practice room with a lunch box and envelope in her hand.

Since their friendship rekindling Mina and Nayeon are once again inseparable. Just like any other day, Mina is dropping off dinner to Nayeon. Since it's Friday Nayeon is training until late.

Mina doesn't want to walk into the room quite yet. She peaks through the small crack in the door she created.

She grins at the pretty sight.

Nayeon's hair is disheveled. Beads of sweat trail the side of her face down to her neck. Her loose cropped t-shirt reveals her collar bone and smooth mid drift.

Mina swallows hard.

'I should stop'

Ever since Chaeyoung brought up the idea of being more than just friends with Nayeon, Mina has been more and more attentive to Nayeon.

She often catches herself staring at Nayeon for too long. Her throat tends to dry up. And she's a little more careful about what comes out of her mouth, worried she may come off the wrong way.

Mina gently opens the door all the way and meets Nayeon's warm brown eyes through the mirror.

"Minaya"

Mina raises the lunch bag with a wide grin. Nayeon and Mina proceed to sit against the wall to eat.

"What's that?" Nayeon points to the white envelope Mina laid on the floor.

"Oh it's for you"

She hands the envelope to the now expecting Nayeon

"It better not be money. Because I told you I can manage Mina"

Mina smiled and shook her head no.

Nayeon breaks open the seal and reaches in. She pulls out a rectangular piece of cardstock.

"It's a VIP ticket that gets you the best seat in the whole auditorium. You have to come I can't perform on stage with so many people"

"I was already going to be backstage supporting you Mina" Nayeon gives Mina a smile of reassurance

"Yeah but I want to be able to look at you as I perform. You calm my nerves"

Nayeon's mind stuttered. She cover her left cheek with her hand as she felt it warming up.

"Of course I'll go and I'll sit in this spot for you, so you better look at me!"

Nayeon reaches for a hug and Mina warmly hugs her back. The two stay in that position for a short moment before finishing their meal.

—-

Nayeon takes a seat. Mina was definitely right about it being the best seat in the house. She's dead center 3 rows out from the front.

The audience cheers as the red curtains open.

When Mina first appears, Nayeon swears her heart stops.

'Wow'

Mina twirled and leapt. When she had the chance she looked into the audience.

'Nayeon'

Mina's heart was pounding out of her chest. Her nervousness was flowing through every ounce of her body.

Yet the moment she made eye contact with Nayeon and she flashed her favorite bunny smile, Mina had all the confidence she needed.

It was like that for the entire play. Mina glanced at Nayeon when she needed comfort.

When the play ended and it was Mina's turn to come out and bow to the crowd alone Nayeon made sure to scream.

"I LOVE YOU MINAYA~~"

Mina turned red all over. She knows that cute voice by heart.

'I love you too Nayeon'

After the play was over, Nayeon has no clue what the plot line was, all she remembers is how gorgeous Mina looked.

The way her body gracefully spun. The way her peach lips were constantly parted. The convincing emotion she kept in her acting eyes.

Nayeon just couldn't get Mina out of her head. Or was it her heart.

The entirety of the play Nayeon's heart felt completely full with heat. Not only that but Nayeon sat tall knowing feeling proud that she was the person Mina needed to support her. She liked and wanted to be the person Mina wanted.

She's never thought or felt like this towards someone before.

'Do I like Mina...?'

Nayeon shook her head trying to get rid of her unusual thoughts.

A smile was plastered on Nayeon's face as she made her way backstage to congratulate Mina. She knows how hard Mina worked and couldn't wait to properly shower with all the attention.

She opened the back door with a tiny bouquet of roses, Mina's favorite. It wasn't much but it was the most she could afford now that didn't have Jeongyeon's money to support her.

Nayeon suddenly felt nervous and embarrassed, she thought Mina deserved something bigger and grander.

"Come with me" Kazuha whispered to Mina

Mina twirled around in the elegant manner Kazuha has fallen in love with. Mina was originally her enemy, but gradually Kazuha couldn't help but fall for her.

Kazuha was ready to confess her feelings as her the friendship was growing through the play rehearsals.

Kazuha grabbed Mina's hand and pulled her to an isolated part of backstage.

"These are for you" Kazuha handed Mina a gigantic arrangement of flowers.

"Wow- thank you Kazuha, I wasn't expecting this from you"

"Well then you probably aren't expecting this either"

Before Mina could try to process what Kazuha was implying warm lips were pressed against hers.

Mina didn't kiss her back, but she didn't pull away either. Her body froze and allowed Kazuha too kiss her longer than she expected.

When she finally pulled away she kept her hand on Mina cheek.

"I like you Mina. A lot. You don't have to say yes right now but please go on a date with me."

Nayeon searched all around backstage and asked everyone where Mina had gone. She kept searching until she found her.

She turned the corner but came a screeching halt when she saw a sight that created a pain strong enough in her chest to make her clench her shirt.

Kazuha and Mina were kissing.

'When did they get together? Why didn't she tell me? No. Why should I feel upset. I'm not jealous. I shouldn't be jealous.

Mina is gorgeous. She's the perfect girl. Of course someone else would want her. I'm just her friend. And she's my friend.

But why does it hurt so bad...'

Nayeon impulsively wiped the unexpected tears that starting to drip down her eyes. She looks up to the stage lights to end her crying before running away and ignoring their conversation.
