(Shuichi's POV)

As the school day started, I was able to calm my nerves just a bit. Since Kaito was now sitting next to me, I could feel his gaze come across me a few times, especially during attendance. I felt myself flush when I was going to be the next called. Once again, I felt his purple eyes.

"Shuichi Saihara." Called the teacher. I raised my palm.

"P-Present." The teacher then continued to call names for attendance. I laid my hand back down and took a glimpse at Kaito. He quickly looked back at the board, with a smile on his face. I flushed knowing that he was looking at me through attendance but paid no mind to it.

After a while in our homeroom class, Kaito started to pass me notes.

"Hey, dude! What's your favorite planet? From Kaito!" He drew little rockets and stars on the note. It was absolutely adorable. Favorite planet? I've never thought about having a favorite planet before. I thought for a moment. I've always seen pictures of planets and what they symbolized, so I tried to use some of my prior knowledge. Neptune symbolizes dreams and healing, I think that's really nice. I wrote down Neptune on the note, along with a small doodle of the planet (which turned out to be just a circle with stars around), and gave it to Kaito. He stared at the note with a serious look, then looked back to me and gave a thumbs up. Somewhat confused, I returned the gesture.

After our first classes, it was time for lunch. Usually, I would sit outside near the benches, and eat my lunch there. Now, for the first time, someone is sitting next to me. The bench where I sat gave off a relaxing aura. It was near an old cherry blossom tree in front of the school gates. I was able to look at our school from the sides and watch other students while pondering. Honestly, eating lunch alone was one of my only decent experiences I would have in school. Eating my bento, and watching from afar. This time, I shall be with Kaito. He sat very close, our knees were touching, it was a pretty awkward position for me at first.

"What'd you get for lunch Shuichi? My grandma helped make mine today, heh!" Kaito looked up, and suddenly put something in my mouth.

"Have some of my octopus sausages!" Kaito grinned as I started to chew, it was not bad at all. The sausage was of course kind of cold, but it still tasted great.

"It was good, thanks Kaito." I was still getting my bento unwrapped, while I could see Kaito eagerly waiting for it to be revealed.

(Kaito's POV)

This was going well! I was able to feed Shuichi! HELL YEAH!

We could hear the baseball team practicing during lunch, which wasn't all bad, but I really wanted to spend some time with Shuichi in silence. I think he's the type of guy to like quiet places, which is another reason why I've been trying hard to keep my voice low, but of course, it's hard for a guy like me.

When Shuichi opened his bento, it looked amazing. The Tamagoyaki looks so fluffy?!

"Dude! Did you make all that yourself?"

"Ah, no. My aunt likes to make my Bentos sometimes. My cooking isn't all that great." Shuichi started to nibble on the teriyaki. I still kept my eyes on the fluffy tamagoyaki.

"Hmm, I bet your cooking is amazing too!" I said. I could see his ears turn slightly red after the comment.

"Y-You think so?" Shuichi said. I nodded. Shuichi then picked up the fluffy tamagoyaki and placed it on my lips. He pressed it to close! To get out of this situation, I quickly ate it. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING-

(Shuichi's POV)

KAITO STARTED TO CHOKE OH NO.

I had no idea what to do, but I started to hit his back and offer him my water. He drank the water and stopped. Oh, thank God.

"Are you okay!?! Do you want me to get more water?" I asked.

"*cough* No, no it's okay! I just ate too fast, heh." Kaito looked up to me and smiled.

"That tasted super good man! Thanks for letting me have some!" Once I knew he was okay, I calmed down.

After that incident, I talked to him about all sorts of things. He talked about planets and music.

"Hey, dude, what kind of music do you listen to?" Kaito asked me as I ate my veggies. I never really had a specific type of music that I would only listen to, but my aunt and uncle would play all sorts of songs in the living room.

"I like all sorts of music, my aunt likes to listen to city pop, so I started to like it as well. If it's not that... I had a huge punk phase in middle school. I really enjoy that kind of music as well." Kaito gave me a blank stare. Oh yikes, did I say too much?

"Bro... you have to show me those songs! I need to find new music to listen to, maybe when we're in your house we can listen!" I immediately started smiling like an idiot. I even had to turn away!

"A-Alright! I'll make sure to show you!" I said.

(Kaito's POV)

Today was going way better than expected. I can't forget about the best part of today though! I'M GOING TO HIS HOUSE!!!

We both still had a few classes before we could leave, I honestly couldn't wait. I finished my food, then the class bell rang.

...

It was our last class, science. This day went by with such a breeze that I couldn't remember nearly anything in our last classes. Maybe cuz I was paying more attention to Shuichi...?

"Alright class, presentations are due by the end of this week, and we will be presenting next Monday." Said the teacher.

"If I see that more students finish their projects earlier, then I shall shorten the presentation to this Friday instead of next Monday, understood?" I'm guessing a bunch of students finished already, that's fine. Shuichi and I are almost done too.

I then took a glimpse at him, Shuichi had his hat slightly lower again, but he didn't seem to be troubled.

Since it was the end of the day, I could see the light getting fainter. The class was less bright, so it looked much more comfortable. If I'm not mistaken, Shuichi likes darker places. He must enjoy the sunset, huh? Once I noticed that I was staring at him again, I turned away. Ugh, again!? I looked at the time, we only have a few minutes of class left. I had to force myself to not stare at Shuichi again, so I just looked out one of the front windows. The leaves were stirring from the wind, and I could see birds flying around. This is nice.

(Shuichi's POV)

Once the school day finally ended, Kaito and I walked to the entrance together. Since the beginning of school, he's been looking at me quite often. I've gotten used to it by now, I'm just wondering... why?

Once we made it, I could feel the weight on my chest get released.

"Alright bro, let's go!" Even though the sun was setting, Kaito's grin brightened up my entire view. It was calming...

"Y-Yeah! Let's go!"
