Loki's POV
The Next Day
Loki watched as Elin approached the throne of Asgard and knelt respectfully. She was oblivious to his presence there until she looked up and saw him.
"Loki?" she asked softly.
"Oh, good," Loki grinned "She lived to see another day,"
"What's happened to put you on the throne?" she asked, cocking her head to the side.
Loki's grin fell. "Thor's banishment,"
Elin straightened, which Loki didn't think was possible with her extremely straight posture.
"I'm sorry?"
"Thor has been banished. Father has fallen into the Odinsleep. With my mother loyally at my father's bedside..." Loki sat forward. "I am king,"
Elin bowed her head. "What does this mean for the wedding?"
"I have canceled it," Loki informed her airily. "I could have enforced it, but since it was my father who was planning it and I had no desire to follow through with it... I took a separate approach,"
"Which is?" she questioned.
Loki grinned, admiring her freely. Nobody was there to stop him, so why should he restrain himself as he had for so long? He was king, after all.
"Come here, my dearest, Elin," he instructed. "Come... to your king,"
Elin smirked and blushed, standing. Her skirt flowed down to her knees and her hips swayed as she started up the dias, approaching the throne. Loki's heart fluttered at the sight of her beautiful blue eyes and her deep red lipstick, her muscular arms, her curvy waist...
Elin didn't usually wear a corset, but he could see that the medics had slipped one under her dress. All that did was make him crave her even more. He longed for nothing more than to rip it off of her already beautiful body.
He couldn't take his eyes off her gentle, delicate hands as she reached him. His fingers tightened around his father's spear and he grinned, reaching out with the hand that was not holding it and grasping her forearm, gently pulling it down a bit.
"Loki?" she asked softly.
"Hush, darling," he replied tenderly.
Elin went silent, blushing freely.
"Everyone in this room is dismissed," Loki announced. As one, all of the guards, maids, and servants in the room exited. With a hard clang, the doors shut.
Suddenly, the room held only Loki and Elin.
"Look at me," Loki purred, standing and cupping her face in his hand. Elin obeyed, her cold, blue eyes met his. A rush of lightheadedness flooded Loki's head as he bit his bottom lip.
"Kiss me, Elin," he pleaded quietly.
"I- I-" Elin turned a deeper shade of pink.
Loki pressed his finger to her mouth, hushing her.
"That," he stated gently, "Was an order from your king, my love,"
"L-Loki-"
"Unless I'm mistaken," Loki traced her jaw with his finger, drawing her nearer. "You follow your king's orders,"
Elin studied him cautiously, pressing their foreheads together.
"I thought you'd never ask," she whispered, "My king,"
Slowly, Elin slid her nose beside his and pressed her soft lips against his. He passionately and deeply kissed her back, savoring a delicacy he never thought he'd be able to taste. Elin did not hesitate to do the same, snaking her arms around his neck and pulling him as close to her as he could get. Dropping the spear and letting it roll down the dias, Loki hugged Elin's waist and pressed himself against her.
He felt her fingers drive into his hair. A tremble went down his spine, and he kissed her harder. He drew her nearer and nearer until he could no longer breathe, but he wasn't going to stop because of that, though. He'd waited far too long for her.
His hands fell to her legs, where they slid under her dress and up to her corset. She stiffened at the feeling of his cold hands but did not stop him from grabbing one of his daggers and slicing clean through the material of her corset. He ripped it off of her and tossed it away, sliding his hands out from under the skirt of her dress and holding her midsection where the corset had just been.
"You don't need a corset," he breathed. "You're perfect,"
"I love you," she whispered breathlessly.
Loki's heart stopped because of the intensity of its beating. He grinned, drawing back.
"I love you, too," he replied quietly. "I love you, I love you, I love you,"
Loki backed up, taking her hands.
"I have a very serious question for you," he said softly. "Something that's been delayed far too long,"
Elin's eyes began to glisten as a small smile crossed her face.
"I had to adjust my methods a bit," he grinned, backing up and reaching into the thin air behind him. He snatched something from the air and hid it behind his back.
"I thought that since I lost my track a couple of days ago... I'll skip right to the question," he stated, falling down to one knee and revealing what he'd hid behind his back.
Elin grinned and covered her mouth at the sight of a beautiful, sheathed sword in front of her.
The one she'd desired the day they'd hung out in the town square.
"Elin, my best friend, my love," he declared, "Will you give me the honor of being your husband?"
Elin's response was immediate.
"Yes,"
