Yet again it is better to look into years and years of past papers, solving them, using specifications rather than skimming through the textbook and being lost while attempting questions. One of my biggest struggles throughout the course of two years was solving papers. They scared me because I did not know how to answer anything regardless of understanding concepts. Passive learning is only temporary and retention while using passive methods of studying is quite low. As funny as it sounds, we remember our mistakes better than notes! This is known as the hypercorrection effect. You thought you understood something but getting it wrong makes it stick better in your head.Solving papers and looking into the mark scheme would be one of the most efficient methods of learning and recollecting concepts. Subjects such as the sciences math and even the humanities to a large extent are very similar in pattern in papers. Knowing and recognising these patterns cannot be done with textbooks and knowing content. The application of this knowledge at the end is what will fetch those marks leading up to that beautiful a*.
