"No way!" Mas erupted from her seat as she saw Hikaru walk in with his arm slung around Yuri. "Y-You-"

"Careful there Mae." Yuri sighed but smiled at her friend. "By the way thank you." She winked.

"Woah woah wait." Mae shook her head and pointed her finger at the two. "Are you an item?"

Yuri looked to Hikaru. "No I deep down inside want to kill him."

"Dito." Hikaru smirked.

Mae blinked confused.

"Yes Mae we're an 'item'." Yuri rolled her eyes.

It was like watching a ticking bomb, slowly Mae let it settle in then..."ahhh I'm so happy!" She jumped around. "I never thought you would actually like him back." She chuckled.

Hikaru glared at Mae. "Whys that?" He grunted.

"Yuri's so perfect are you're so..."

"Annoying?" Kaoru suggested.

"Pestering?" Yuri added.

"Angry?" Haruhi as well joined in.

"That enough!" Hikaru fumed.

"There there." Yuri sighed. "Looks like Haru was right." She winked at him making him blush slightly but still looked angry.

"Awww!" Mae and Kaoru cued at the two.

"Stop." Hikaru hissed.

"Embarrassed?" Yuri flicked his cheek.

"Hmph." Hikaru grunted.

"I feel bad Satoshi had to experience that."

Mae nodded as did the others. "Chika is coming to the host club for lunch today." Mae smiled.

"Oh that's Honey senpai's brother right?" Yuri asked. Everyone nodded short after.

"He can be a little...rude." Mae silently said as if it were a curse.

"So?" Yuri shrugged.

"Obviously you don't mind." Hikaru poked her.

"What was that?" She glared at him and he glared back.

"Will they be okay?" Haruhi blinked at them.

"Yeah Yeah." Mae and Kaoru waved their hands.

"Chika !" Mae waved at the gloomy boy with his arms crossed.

"Cool type?" The Hitachiin twins snapped their fingers at the same time.

"How about no type." Chika sighed lazily.

"Girls will be all over you." Hikaru suggested.

"Dont care." He sighed again. He then looked up and saw the hostess Mae smiling at him. "Hm wasn't expecting you to be in high spirits." He rose his eyebrow.

"Chika..." Satoshi nudged him.

"You didn't tell her?" The boy smirked. "Well won't you be in for a surprise."

Mae looked at the two. She didn't want another dilemma but as the saying goes, curiosity killed the cat. "What is it?"

Chika looked at Satoshi once more. "Your beloved Takashi is getting married in two months time."

"Mae." Yuri sighed looking at the frozen girl.

"I-I'm fine." Mae gulped and plastered a smile over her face. "Let's finish lunch."

No one said anything else but several glares were directed to the small brother of Honey.

Mae continued on to most people it would seem as if nothing had happened. She still held a smile on her face and made small jokes.

But most of the Hosts could see through her act.

Time seemed to pass quickly and with little excitement to what they were used to. It was like a breath begin held in before the last huge wave.

"Mae." Haruhi breathlessly jumped into the host club a few days later.

"Sister." Mae scoffed.

"I-I-" Haruhi pushed on her hair. "Me and Tamaki-"

Maes eyes lit up. "About time!" She yelled and ran over swooping her sister up in a huge hug.

The two laughed together but some of the guests looked at them confused.

By this time they had already forced Chika into hosting. And of course he had taken over the role of the 'cool' type.

"I'm so happy." Mae held her own cheeks in excitement.

Haruhi nodded with a soft smile and tint of pink on her cheeks. "I am too."

"Awww Haru!" Mae cried.

"So it finally happened?" Yuri strut over.

"It did." Mae frantically nodded her head.

"How about a double date?" Hikaru snuck up.

"Please." Yuri shook her head and pat his shoulder. "Oh Mae there's a new guest." Yuri pointed.

"Right." Mae nodded. She had recently taken over Kyoya's job of keeping track of the host club. Of course she did have some help from Satoshi.

Soon the host club emptied out leaving just the hosts behind. Everyone was on top of Haruhi asking about how it had happened. Mae followed them in this step but her mind was blank.

It wasn't fair, she thought, that she would always think of him and from now on he would think of his wife. Wife, what sickening word Mae cringed in her head. She was so jealous so lost.

And the old agreement that they would be together after this school year. Was that all along false?

All she ever wanted was to be with him. She took in a big breath and decided to forget about it for now. She should be focusing on her sisters happiness and Yuri's.

Mae hummed a tune on her way out of the school. She was quiet and felt under the weather. She wouldn't deny that she was suddenly envious of both her sister and friend in their success in being with people who cared about them.

And well Mae...she was slowly becoming self conscious that Mori never even really liked her. Was she just this pestering love stuck girl?

"Huh," Mae let a painful chuckle out. "I guess it's really over now."

"Now what's this?" A familiar snarky voice came.

Mae turned on her heels slowly. She wondered if she was correct in her guess. "Kyoya?"

"Miss Fujioka." He bowed.

"I thought I told you not to call me that."

"Well you're still just a high school student."

Her face darkened. "Yeah right."

"Is something wrong?"

"Yeah...Takashi is getting married."

"So you heard." He nodded.

"You knew?"

"Of course I did." He pushed his glasses up.

"Oh." She hung her head. "Hey Kyoya, do you know if she like really pretty and wealthy."

"I have heard she is a looker as well as in great financial stability."

Mae forced a smile. "Yeah thought so. Well goodby-"

"But she defiantly is a downgrade."

Mae stared at him in surprise. "Downgrade?"

"Well compared to your looks and personality she doesn't quite match up."

"Oh." Mae didn't hide her smile. "Thanks."

"Miss Fujioka." He walked closer. "I have a proposition for you."

"Really? What?"

"Well it appears my family would prefer I enter the 'dating scene' and as it looks you're at a lonely time-"

"Uh Kyoya?"

"I think we should date."

"I don't think so." Mae stood still. "That's a bad idea."

"How So?"

"Kyoya," Mae looked at her feet. "You don't understand how much I care about him."

"And hes getting married."

Mae winced. The words felt like salt thrown onto a slug. "Fine." She whispered then walked away feeling her heart hurt with pain.

But reader, the funny thing about fate is there's no running away from it.
