After the incident that happened yesterday, Aomine allowed me to stay at his house. He introduced me to his parents, they were nice enough to allow me to stay as well. They embarrassed him a couple of times in front of me, teasing that I was his "girlfriend" and to be honest with myself, I laughed for the first time in a few years. Thank you, Aomine.

I wrote in my diary.

I sighed and leaned back in the chair. I looked around the room I was staying in, I was glad that they let me stay.

I earned only a few texts and phone calls from my sister, some of the texts saying:

"Where the fuck are you?"

"You little shit, better be home."

"No wonder Father never liked you."

"Mother is dead, realize that. This is reality."

"Whatever."

It didn't worry me. She didn't care at first anyways.

I heard a knock at the door, "Come in." I said and watched as Aomine open the door. "Um,"

"Morning." I started,

"Morning." He replied.

It wasn't like I knew him, or it wasn't like I was use to him. It was only that I was happy to be away from someone who caused and causes me so much pain.

Thank you, Aomine...

"Um, breakfast is ready." Ah...I can tell you aren't yourself again.

I wish I could say that, you should be yourself rather than being someone you're not. If you can't be yourself, you're nobody.

"I'm coming down." I closed my diary and placed it in the drawer that was underneath the desk I was sitting at. I walked past Aomine with a slight smile and watched as his cheeks turn red.

He followed me down the stairs and went to the table.

I walked down the street with him, he held my bag which I didn't ask for.

"Dai-chan! How come you didn't come to practice?!" His girlfriend came running towards us, totally ignoring my presence. But, I was use to it.

"I'm going ahead." I spoke briefly, waving to him. I ran before he could say something.

I walked past (Ex's Name) and looked straight ahead.

"So, you're hanging out with him now, huh?" I stayed quiet as I slowed down to stop. My back faced his back as we stood a good two metres away from each other.

Better than staying with someone who completely made fun of me.

Better than someone who can't stop thinking about himself.

After all this time...

I didn't glance over my shoulder, but I heard him turn around.

After all this time, you embarrassing me, you making fun of me. You still come after me. Why? Why do you do it, (Ex's Name)? Is there something you want from me?

"So, that's what you resort to? Someone who's famous because they're a sports player? Seriously, you could do better." He placed a hand on his hip when I glanced back. I irritatedly turned to face him.

Usually I don't turn around for people like him.

"Is that what you're talking to me for? After all that, you come back just to tell me I could do better? He's better than you. Don't talk about someone like him like that ever again if you aren't perfect, (Ex's Name)." I retorted, feeling the anger build up inside. He gave me a unimpressed face and scoffed.

"What, is he getting you to suck his dick or something that you're defending him like that?"

Shut up...you know nothing! You make me really irritated!

I took a step back and inhaled sharply, taking deep breaths.

Don't get so worked up, (First Name)...

Remember, he isn't worth your time.

I shook my head and calmed down my scrunched up face. I closed my eyes for a second and realized.

This is the person that knows nothing about me. This is the person that was trying to get in my pants. This is the person that can't hurt me anymore.

Only people I care about can hurt me...but, that's bad.

That's right, he can't hurt me anymore. But, he never did in the first place. Because, I never cared enough.

I'm a changed person, I now have feelings since everything with him is over. He doesn't matter anymore. He isn't a bright person.

That's right.

I'm a changed person, people like him don't matter.

"(Ex's Name), you-" I was cutoff when I realize someone swiftly punched him to the ground.

All I saw that day was Aomine coming from nowhere, punching (Ex's Name) to the ground. Defending me. Fighting for me.

Why? That's something I have to ask.
