"RUN!" Clem yelled as Louis and Aasim turned around. It took them a minute to process what was happening, but as soon as Clem shoved them to move, they realized that just behind them was a horde of walkers.

The three ran from the stream; past the rabbit traps; and past Willy and Aasim's traps to the front gate. Louis and Aasim was a bit a head of Clem, so they weren't really paying attention.

"This isn't how this hunting trip was supposed to go!" Louis said in a bit of worried voice. They had wanted to get to the gates before the horde could catch up.

"No shit." Aasim responded.

Clem glared at the boys, before refocusing her attention to the path. Louis stumbled a bit, making Clem now focus on him.

"Louis! Are you-" Before Clem could finish her sentence, she tripped over a root in the ground and tripped. She slammed her head on a nearby rock, falling out cold as her body hit the rocky path.

The boys turned around and quickly ran to her side. They were both petrified. Louis and Aasim both helped lift her up; despite her being so light; and got her back to Ericson's.

Violet, Marlon, and Brody were awaiting the three at the gates.

"Oh my god! What- is she okay?" Violet asked, quickly letting the three in.

"We don't know!" Aasim said as Marlon rushed over to help the boys with Clem.

. . .

Ruby stood atop Clem. Watching down on her, bandaging her head up.

"She still has a pulse, so that's good." Ruby said, placing her middle and index finger on Clem's neck.

Violet stared blankly at Clem. Her heart was racing. She squeezed Clem's hand and swore under her breath for letting this happen.

"Please be okay, Clem." AJ said as he held Clem's other hand, slightly pouting, and obviously on the brink of tears.

. . .

Clem finally fluttered open her eyes. Everyone was sitting around her. Just as they had been for the past two days. Clem was out cold for three days, so nobody really noticed her sitting up.

AJ glanced up and clapped quickly.

"Clem's awake! Clem's awake!" AJ said, giddily. Everyone quickly turned to Clem. Clem's eyes darted from one person to another.

"Clem!" Everyone yelled, racing over to her side. Clem flinched away from everyone, slightly biting her lower lip.

"I don't know who you guys are." Clem said, a bit taken aback.

Everyone shared a glance, before finally realizing what had happened that faithful day.

. . .

From there on out, everyone was gentle with Clem.

"Hey Clem? Wanna draw with me?" Tenn asked. Clem nodded quickly, a huge smile spread across her lips. She started to draw with Tenn. Tenn drew Clementine's hat, which earned him a weird look.

"What's that?" Clem asked.

"Oh. It's your hat."

"My.. Hat?"

"Yeah. Uh. AJ has it."

Clem furrowed her eyebrows, but soon seen AJ running up with it. He handed it to Clem. She put it on and smiled.

"Um.. Who are you two?" Clem asked in a nervous tone.

"I'm Tenn."

"AJ. Your son."

Clem beamed with happiness.

"I'm so lucky!" Clem said. AJ's eyes now lit up with Clem's, giving Tenn a thumbs up.

"AJ! Tenn! Clem! Come on! We have something we need to do!" Louis yelled. Clem titled her head in confusion.

"Come on." AJ said, taking Clem's hand in his own and leading her to Louis and the others.

"Alright, yall. We're gonna try and make Clem's memory come back." Louis said. Everyone nodded. Clem just titled her head again as Violet started to talk.

"We're gonna go off of what Clem told us about her past during that game of war." Violet said, clearing her throat and leaning on the table.

"Clem.." Louis started. Clem looked at him quickly. "Back when this all started.."

"When what started?" Clem asked. Everyone thought for a moment. Clem hasn't been allowed to go hunting because of her head injury, so she probably knew nothing about the monsters that lurked just outside the gates.

"Well.. Uh.." Marlon rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

"There used to be a man who took care of you. His name was Lee." AJ said, breaking the tension.

"Really?" Clem asked, her face lighting up at the mention. Everyone shared a smiled glance.

"Yes. He saved you. You were hiding out in your treehouse and.. A wal- a monster tried to get you. He saved you though." Louis said, correcting himself before he could say anything Clem wouldn't understand. Clem smiled.

"The was nice of him." Clem said. Violet nodded.

"You met a family.. Katjaa, Kenny, and Duck. Duck was your best friend, and Katjaa and Kenny were like your aunt and uncle." Violet chimed in.

"Duck is a funny name." Clem laughed. Violet gave Clem a sad smile.

"You got captured.. Lee saved you, but got hurt in the process. You had to shoot him." Marlon added. Clem frowned.

"So he got hurt.. Because of me?" Clem asked. Violet quickly shook her head.

"Not at all! He.. You did him a favor." Violet replied. Clem glanced at her lap.

"Um.. You joined another group. AJ's family. You found out that Kenny was alive." Louis said.

"Kenny kept you and AJ safe for as long as he could, before he died to protect you guys." Marlon added.

"He.. Died too? Because of me?" Clem asked, a frown across her lips once again. Marlon shook his head.

"He was.. Uh.. Happy! Yeah. Happy." Marlon said, doubting if wether or not that was a good enough excuse. Clem smiled.

"Oh." Clem said through the smile. Violet cleared her throat.

"After that, AJ got taken from you." Violet said.

"To a place called the McCarroll Ranch." AJ added in.

"-Yeah. You saved him and eventually.. Came crashing into our lives." Violet said, a sad smile on her lips.

"You have two scars that I know.. On your shoulder and arm." AJ said, pointing.

"Why?" Clem asked.

"You got bit by a dog, and shot." AJ said. Clem titled her head.

"I never asked what your guys' names were.." Clem said, examining their faces a bit.

"Violet. Your girlfriend." Violet said, kissing Clem's hand.

"Wow. Really?" Clem asked, turning to Louis. Louis nodded with a huge smile.

"And I'm Louis! Your best friend!"

"Marlon. His best friend." Marlon said, shoving Louis a bit. Clem smiled.

"You guys seem really nice." Clem said, glancing from person to person with a big smile.

"We are." Louis said proudly.

"But if only our plan had worked." Violet said sadly, letting Clem slightly snuggle into her shoulder.

. . .

Everyday was the same. Everyone tried their best to get Clem's memory to kick start, but nothing seemed to work. The day's never changed. It was always the same.

Tenn would sketch with Clementine every morning before breakfast. Tenn would draw old memories and people, hoping that it might give Clem's memory a refresher.

After breakfast, Marlon, Rosie, and Clem would go for walks outside of the gates. Every now and then, they would run into a walker, resulting in Clem always asking, "Who is that?" Or "Let's help them. They look like they need it."

Louis would take Clem to check the rabbit traps everyday a bit after lunch. They, too, usually ran into a few walkers.

Ruby and Brody would let Clem held tend to the little flower beds they had set up, before dinner.

Omar would let Clem 'help' cook dinner with him every afternoon.

Before her and Violet's nightshift, Willy and Mitch would talk about bombs and such with her, making her excited to learn what a 'bomb' was.

With the fifteen minutes Aasim had before Clem and Violet's nightshift, he would teach Clem little things. Things like what crushes were, what walkers were, and such.

Violet and Clem would sit atop the bell tower and stargaze while on nightshift.

And every night before Clem goes to sleep, AJ would read old bedtime books with her.

Everyone took their time with her. Even Rosie seemed to notice a change in Clementine. She would stay close to Clementine and growl at anyone who got too close, as if she was protecting her.

They hoped that one day everything would click. That everything would come flooding back. Memories of her old friends, old family, and old life.

But then, maybe that would hurt too much. Clem was always down about Lee and everybody else she's lost. Maybe it was best for Clem to not remember. Maybe it would spare her some pain.

Except everybody felt like their friend was fading away. AJ and Violet took it the worse, with Rosie falling close behind. They just wanted the old Clem back. The one that knew what it was like. One that didn't feel like a little kid again.

Because if they kept this up; protecting her from the walkers; Clem would end up dead. Just like that girl with red glasses Clem would talk about. Clem wouldn't make it. They would have to re-teach her everything. AJ would teach her how to use a gun. Louis would teach her how to shoot a bow. Violet would show her how to fish. Aasim would show her how to check the traps. Everybody would, without a doubt, pitch in, but nothing would be able to bring the old Clem back. The Clem that knew far much more than any of them knew; despite more than half of the school being older than her.

. . .

Clem cuddled into Violet. AJ was sleeping across the room. He had just got done reading to Clem, and had passed out as soon as he touched the soft bed. Clem glanced at Violet, whom of which was passed out, too. Her hand was gripping onto Clem's hand, as if making sure Clem didn't go anywhere. Rosie, of course, laid next to Clem on the floor, every now and then raising her head to look at Clem.

Clem didn't understand why everyone was sad. They seemed to be down. She knew it was something about her, but she didn't know what. Clem frowned as she closed her eyes, trying to get a bit of sleep.

. . .

"I'm Clementine. This is my house."

"Hi Clementine. I'm Lee."

Clem looked around as she saw a young girl in a treehouse, and an older looking man inside of a house.

"...Lee..?" Clem asked as she looked at the two. A bright white flashed before she found herself at another scene.

-

"I'm real glad to have met you, Clementine." A man with a grey mustache said to a young, but older looking than before girl. The girl was holding a baby, and shaking her head as they all stood in front of a huge wall.

"No! I'm not leaving you."

"Kenny?" Clem asked again, seemingly right after the younger girl had said her line.

Another white flash.

-

A gunshot rang through the forest as Clem watched in horror. A little boy had just been shot in the head by the same mustached older man. Clem knew that it was because the boy was dying; but seeing it in person was more heart wenching than she expected.

-

Clem watched in horror as a man got shot in the bathroom. He held his chest as blood poured out. Clem looked behind her. A woman and a young girl. She quickly turned her head around to face a pregnant lady running into the bathroom.

-

"Christa! Run!" The same young girl yelled. A group of guys turned her way and started to chase her as the older, now not pregnant lady, yelled out for the small girl to run herself.

-

Clem watched as a man fell into an ice cold lake.

"Clem! You're light, you can save him! You just need to go." An older lady said, getting into a shooting position. The younger girl hesitated for a minute, before going and reaching for the guy. The girl fell in, before quickly being grabbed out by a lady with a yellow top on, being rushed into the house across the lake.

-

"You're a natural." The same mustached man said as the young girl held the newborn baby. Clem broke a smile at this as she watched the scene unfold before her. Before, once again, being cut off by a white flash.

-

Clem blinked a few times as she watched face flash by. All those faces. She recognized them. Lee. Kenny. Duck. Omid. Christa. Chuck. Lilly. Carley. Katjaa. Louis. Violet. AJ.

. . .

Clem jumped up in a cold sweat. She sudden movement awoke Violet and Rosie, whom of which jumped up to her aid.

"Clem? Clem?" Violet asked, making AJ stir awake. Clem looked at Violet with glossy eyes and a sad smile. She threw her arms around Violet, pulling her in for a tight hug. Violet was a bit confused, but rubbed her back anyway.

"Are you okay?" Violet asked, a bit frantic. Clem smiled into Violet's neck, letting a few stray tears fall into Violet's neck.

"Yessss... Violet.. I.. It's all coming back to me." Clem said as Violet held her still. She parted away, staring into Clem's eyes in confusion.

"Lee.. Kenny.. Duck.. Christa.. The.. The stranger.." Clem said, smiling and wiping her tears. Violet smiled widely and hugged Clementine again. Violet giggled quietly as they both fell back on the bed. Clem snuggled closer to Violet and placed her face into the crook of her neck.

"I'm so glad to have you back." Violet whispered as she caressed Clem's hair. Violet felt Clem smile into her neck, only to stay quiet and snuggle into her more.

. . .

"We can't believe this!" Louis said as he pulled Clem into a hug, rustling through Clem's hair roughly.

"Okay, okay! Enough!" Clem joked, shoving Louis away.

"We missed you, Clem." Brody said, giving Clem a hug along with everyone else.

"CLEEEEEEMMMMMM!" AJ yelled from behind. He had been sleeping, and didn't know Clem remembered anything.

Clem quickly spun around and knelt.

"AJJJJJJJJJ!" Clem yelled in response, giving AJ a big hug as he ran into her arms.

"Oh, so AJ is allowed to get a hug, but we can't?" Louis asked in a joking way. Clem glared at him and he raised his hands in defence.

"Kidding!"

Clem smiled in victory as she stood up.

"Happy to have you back, Clem." Marlon smiled.

"Who isn't?" Clem asked in a mocking way.

"Damn. Cocky." Mitch joked.

"She's allowed to slide, for now." Aasim said with a laugh. Clem picked AJ up and put him on her hip, so everyone smiled as they pulled Clem in for a hug, making her moan in defeat.

"Accept our love!" Louis said. Clem rolled her eyes, but smiled anyway as she smiled into Violet's neck, AJ hugging tightly around Clem's neck.
