Evening
-Naomasa's car-
We get back in the car to return to the agency.
(I feel like I've seen a lot of different sides of Mr. Sakura today. I've never seen him act kind of humane before.)
I must be staring at the side of his face as I think this.
Naomasa: "What?"
Y/N: "Huh?"
Naomasa: "I don't like being stared at."
Y/N: "Oh... I'm sorry."
Naomasa: "You didn't have anything to say?"
Y/N: "Um..uh... I was just thinking about how much your clients seem to like you."
Naomasa: "...They're just all very nice people."
Y/N: "That can't be it..."
Naomasa: "All they ever do is help me."
In his cold tone, though, I can hear something warm.
(I think that's because you were so nice to them...)
He doesn't say any more than usual, but this time I feel like he's actually talking with me.
Y/N: "Um..."
Naomasa: "What?"
Y/N: "What made you decide you wanted to be a lawyer, Mr. Sakura?"
Naomasa: "..."
A silence falls over the inside of the car.
Y/N: "Mr. Sakura?"
Naomasa: "Is that information necessary?"
Y/N: "Huh...?"
Naomasa: "..."
Mr. Sakura doesn't say another word after that.
(Maybe I shouldn't have asked him about it...I guess I got carried away. I'll have to be more careful next time.)
I look out the window, and watch Mr. Sakura's reflection in the glass.
(I guess I can't tell what he's thinking just by looking at him like this... Come to think of it, why is he working for a detective agency rather than a law firm? I hope I can ask him that too someday.)
The car slowly passes through town, now bathed in the colours of the sunset.
