Starscream POV

"E-Enigma?" I said quietly, but to my surprise the creature could hear what I said and tilted her head, again at the name I called her. I then heard laughing and saw Silas, cackling like a hyena at how speechless we all were, but also loving what he did to her. Turning Enigma into a full on Cybertronian, a predacon, fully loyal to him and him alone.

"Hahahaha, seeing your faces has been worth all the pain S-139 has put me and my men through. She was persistent and stubborn but couldn't beat our science or our torture methods."

I just glared at him, and everyone was as well, but then I felt something... off with my bond. Megatron and Optimus were talking with Silas and as they were doing that, I decided to see what was wrong with my bond. It was a faint emotion, but one I knew all too well, loneliness.

I dug deeper into my bond, and I knew the Vehicons, Insecticons, and other officers were looking at me, but I didn't pay any attention and focused on the bond. Usually, I wouldn't do this in battle, but I knew that whoever was trying to communicate with me needed help and wanted to talk to me. I also could tell that Thundercracker and Skywarp were doing it as well and I quickly opened my eyes and gestured for them to stall until I could figure out what was going on.

My main goal was hoping that this calling was from Enigma and that she was trying to connect with us again to break free from Silas control. One of the Vehicons saw that I was working on something and most of the crew knew that when I focused hard, I was communicating through my bond with my mates.

I saw it was Steve and he nodded, while others blocked my view from the M.E.C.H. soldiers and Silas.

"Hey! What was the whole point of getting her? Why not somebody else?" Silas was none the wiser of my true plan to stall and answered the question while I closed my optics and dug deeper and deeper into the bond.

Eventually, I reached the main part and started speaking through it, with Thundercracker and Skywarp with me.

'Hello, who is this?' I asked and waited, but then heard low growls outside the bond.

When I opened my optics, I looked at Enig- the now predacon Enigma, who still looked confused, but when I heard what Silas was saying, I knew I could use it to see if she could understand me.

'Listen to me, when Silas asks you something, don't answer. Stay quiet, this will let us know we can hear you.'

I said and I heard Thundercracker and Skywarp agree, but also a faint, 'U... u...s?'

I heard her say it and I tried not to smile in front of anyone, but I was happy she could talk through it.

'Yes, now please listen, he is about to say it and don't answer or obey.'

I could feel she understood, but still not fully trusting towards us, but I needed to know if this creature had a will of its own.

"Now as you can see, she is even better than before, isn't that right S-139?" The predacon didn't answer and stayed quiet, not uttering a sound, even when Silas said the command again.

"Stupid beast, still disobedient even with all the memory wipes, you still find a way to not listen. Even that useless code couldn't save you." Silas said and I perked up at what he just said and communicated through the bond again.

'Screamer, he just-'

'I know Warp.'

I said quickly and Thundercracker said, 'If she has something like that embedded within her processor, then that means that-'

'It could be the key to unlocking her memories!' I said and dug deep again to communicate with her again.

'Please listen to me, I know you don't trust me or the other voices you hear, but please just listen.'

I didn't hear any response and thought that she wouldn't believe me, but then I felt a new emotion emerge from her, understanding and intrigued. I looked at her and she nodded very slowly that it wasn't recognizable, but if looked closely enough, could be identified.

'Good, now listen closely to what I am about to say.' She subtly nodded again, and I continued.

'The code that is within your system, can you try and communicate what it looks or feels like with your code if you connect with it?'

She then looked at Silas and I knew she was using it to hide her own means of understanding, but I could tell we were running out of time. After a few moments I heard her trying to talk, but it came out as a few statics, but still could be heard.

'Code... opposite... mine... cannot... sync.'

'Okay, now I want you to try and fuse them together.'

She looked a bit taken aback, but I quickly said, 'You were someone that taught me that no code is useless. I think that the code isn't useless, and you and the code need to sync together.'

She still felt hesitant, but my words to her seemed to drive her to want to try. I even tried to send some emotions over to her and her optics flickered a bit at what I sent, which was belief in her and love.

She seemed even more determined to find answers and closed her optics, focusing on syncing the two opposite codes, which didn't look easy. I kept on sending the emotions over to her, as did Thundercracker and Skywarp, giving her the confidence, she needed to keep trying. I focused back on the conversation, which was nearing an end and I was praying to Primus for a miracle.

"Now, enough talk. Let me show you what she can do now! S-139: Attack!"

Silas pressed the remote and everyone waited for her to strike, but she never did. Silas pressed the button again and again, but nothing ever happened.

"What's wrong with this thing! Listen to your master!" Silas screamed, but then she roared even louder than the first time we saw her.

Everyone covered their receptors with their servos and tried to block out the noise, even the predacons and Insecticons did so as well due to the sheer power of it. When the roar ended, she opened her eyes, revealing not purple optics, but piercing blue optics, glaring at Silas and his men.

She growled and started to slowly walk towards them, with them all cowering and some tossing their weapons away. While everyone, besides me, was looking so confused at what was going on.

"Woah, what's happening? What's going on?"

Bulkhead said and I stepped in and said, "'No code is useless.'" I started walking towards the front of everyone while they listened to me.

"That was one lesson Enigma taught me and how we were able to find her. She always had a contingency plan for everything... even being turned into a Cybertronian." The predacon looked at me, but not with the same look as before, but one of 'love' and 'caring' within her optics.

She looked at everyone else and they looked shocked at how much calmer she was now. Silas still didn't understand and said, "What do you mean she prepared for this?!?!"

Optimus then came up to me and said, "While this is a good turn for us, what do you mean Starscream?" I then started telling everything that happened while they were talking.

"Alright, before I tell, let's deal with them first." I looked at everyone and they nodded as I nodded at Enigma, to which she blasted at them all. However, she didn't burn them, but froze them in ice. Some tried to escape and make a run for it, but they were all too little too late. After a few moments, all of the M.E.C.H. soldiers were all frozen, some with sheer fear or rage on their faces, mostly rage on Silas.

"That will hold them for now, they are not dead, but will remain in a frozen state until they are thawed out and taken by the humans." I said and everyone looked confused at me and how I knew this. Before freezing them, I told Enigma not to kill them and she agreed, only trapping them from escaping.

I then said, "As for what was going on, did you notice how others were dragging the conversation about what happened with Enigma and how she became like... this."

I pointed to the predacon and then added, "Like they were... stalling for something?" Megatron thought for a moment before realizing what was really going on.

"You were communicating with her, trying to unlock her memories that were hidden, while the others stalled." He spoke.

"That is correct, my Lord."

We all turned around to see the pred... no... Enigma taking to us in the predacon form. Even if I knew it was her, I still could make my processor believe it was actually her. She walked up to us and when she was only a few meters away, I stepped forward and was just staring at her now blue optics. It was almost like they were sparkling back at me, but I quietly asked her, "I-Is it really you?"

I was terrified that it wouldn't be, and it was just another human test subject, but through my spark, I felt something open within the bond. I knew Thundercracker and Skywarp could feel the change and how familiar the bond felt. The predacon then started to speak through our bond.

'Yes Starscream, when we first met, you saved me from an energon explosion.'

I could feel tears pierce through my optics as she continued the story.

'You were always called the 'traitorous mech' and 'unloyal mech' because of your reputation in the Decepticons as the Second-in-Command. However, in reality you are the most loyal, kind, and caring mech I have ever met. One that has risked his own spark to save not only his mates, but for all of your... family.'

My spark began to beat so much, and I didn't even realize I began crying and flung myself to hug her. I wrapped my servos around her neck as she wrapped her wings around me. I cried even harder than before, but then pulled away, looking back at everyone and nodding a lot.

"IT'S HER!"

They all lit up and the Decepticons walked closer. They were cautious, but Enigma then said, "If you don't believe me, then how about this: Me and Megatron sparring for the first time."

All the Decepticons roared in laughter as Megatron began to turn a deep blue on his checks. But as soon as everyone stopped laughing, they realized who she was and all hugged her, screaming, "ENIGMA!"

They all cried as Enigma wrapped her wings around all of us and they cried even harder. The predacons and Insecticons were nuzzling and purring while they wrapped around her, just like the other troops. All of the Decepticons were saying something, but it was hard to hear with all the crying and rejoicing for her return. I don't know how long we hugged, but when we all pulled away, I still had to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

Megatron then said, "Ho-How is this even possible? How did you get your memories back?"

She smiled and said, "Well, before the explosion, I was able to brainwash my mind with all my memories and made sure that they would stay hidden in the back of my mind in case something like this happened. This was one of my contingency plans if I ever fell into the wrong hands."

Everyone stood there, mouths wide open at what she said, and I heard someone say, "What?"

We all turned to see Bulkhead and when Enigma saw him, she jumped in front of us, teeth bearing, claws out, and growling at them. I realized that she must've thought that they were still the enemy and were ambushing us.

I immediately stepped in front of her and said, "Enigma, it's okay! They're with us!"

She stopped growling and picked up her head as Dreadwing said, "They found out what truly happened to you and the truth behind the attack."

Enigma still looked confused and shocked by this discovery but stopped growling. She then started to approach the Autobots, very slowly and cautiously. However, when she approached, her armor started to shift, and she transformed!

Her Cybertronian form was unlike anything I had ever laid optics upon. She was just like any other predacon form, but she had different blue colors on her armor, high heels like me, and sharp claws. Her wings were long and sharp, with long tails with some spikes along the back of it. She wore long spikes attached to her wings that could almost touch the ground, but what really caught my optic was the insignia on her chest... was of Decepticon origin.

(Here is what she looks like now, just ignore the skull and art isn't mine)

Everyone was, again, shocked at how she looked and even more that she could transform even when she has only been online for a short amount of time. She walked up to Optimus and the other Autobots, her expression remained unreadable.

All of us weren't sure how much she remembered since she last saw Optimus Prime killing, or trying to, kill her. Smokescreen then came behind and stepped in front of Optimus and the other Autobots, clearly amazed by her.

"A-are you Enigma?" He asked and Enigma nodded... and he then did something interesting. He started shaking her hand, and speaking very fast to her, clearly excited to finally meet her.

"Oh, my Primus! It's so good to meet you! I've heard a lot from the Decepticons about your abilities! Can you train me!"

All of us looked shocked, but Enigma just started laughing.

She laughed very hard, but tried to catch herself and said, "O-ohh my, you're too funny rookie! Yes, I will, if that is fine with you Optimus?"

Optimus seemed taken aback by this, but Bumblebee started beeping, 'So... Enigma... no hard feelings?'

Enigma looked confused and said, "What do you mean?"

Arcee stepped up, looking very nervous, and added, "F-For trying to terminate you all those times on the battlefield."

Surprisingly, Enigma just smiled and said, "There is nothing that needs apologizing for. As far as I'm concerned, we have no quarrels."

Bulkhead then stuttered, "B-But what about-"

"Look, I don't know what has happened since I left and I am still a bit disoriented at everything that has happened, but from what I can gather, you have helped my family survive... and for that I am very grateful to all of you. Thank you, Autobots."

They all looked surprised, but Bumblebee chirped a lot and hugged her, which surprised all of us, but she just laughed at how playful the scout could be.

"Woah, easy Bumblebee, there will be plenty of time for hugs and chatting, but for now... I wish to go home and see everyone else."

I smiled and made my way towards her, bringing her into my embrace and whispering incoherent things into her receptors as we heard a groundbridge open. Everyone smiled and they began walking through, leaving only me, Megatron, and Optimus.

I looked back at my mate, and said, "Are you ready for the reunion?"

She looked at Optimus and Megatron and said, "Yes, can't wait to see everyone. However, someone needs to tell me what has happened since I have been gone."

Megatron put a servo on her shoulder and said, "We will definitely do that, but let us go."

We began walking, but not before Enigma turned to Optimus and said, "Thank you, for everything Optimus Prime. If Primus was in front of us now, he would be proud of how his descendent is leading."

All of us looked at her, amazed by her words, but all smiled as I grabbed her hand-er servo and we all walked through the portal, bringing home a war hero.
