It had been only a week after the Autobots had left Earth. Jack already missed them, his life was so boring without them.

It was just go to school go to work go home rinse and repeat. The bell just rang to signal the end of the school day, and all the kids ran outside. As Jack made it outside, he looked for Arcee, but then he remembered that they had left.

Jack made his way over to his ten speed, lost in the thought. He really missed Arcee, she was his motorcycle , his guardian, his best friend, and most importantly someone that Jack considered as close as family. "Hey Darby!" A voice called.

"What do you want Vince?" Jack asked as he turned towards the bully.

"I was just wondering what happened to the bike." Vince sneered. "I had to sell it." Jack said as he pulled his bike out of the rack and started to ride off. "Well you probably couldn't have gotten much for that piece of junk." Vince said laughing.

Jack immediately stopped pedaling got off his bike and walked back to Vince. "What did you say?" Jack asked the anger rising in him. "I said your bike was a piece of junk." Vince said sneering. Jack pulled back his fist and struck Vince squarely in the jaw. Vince just went down holding his jaw. "Don't you ever talk about my bike like that." Jack said as he started to walk away.

All the kids outside were shocked at this, Jack was a easy going kid that kept to himself and he just took out the scariest kid in school. Miko and Raf ran to catch up with him. Jack had been trying to avoid them lately since when he saw them he thought of Arcee and he couldn't deal with that. "Woah Jack you punched Vince." Raf said astonished. "I couldn't let him say that about Arcee." Jack said as he quickly took off.

"Do you think he'll be ok?" Miko asked. "I don't know he was closer with Arcee than we were with our partners they went to another planet together for crying out loud." Raf said. ( 6 months after the Autobots left)

Jack had got home after work, a note was left on the door for him. Jack I'm out on a date with William. See you later, Love you Mom. The note read. Jack just opened the door with the key in his pocket. His mom had been going out a lot lately with agent Fowler.  He was happy that his mom was dating again, agent Fowler treated her well, but Jack was pretty lonely.

His mom would work her shift then go out with agent Fowler and get home around 9 or 10 pm and go to bed. Jack walked into his room and laid down on his bed just staring at the ceiling thinking. Jack then looked at a framed picture he had sitting on his desk. It was a picture of him and Arcee sitting in a field. Jack smiled thinking back to that day.

(Flashback) Jack, Arcee, Raf, Bumblebee and Miko has been sent to go relax by Optimus since the decepticons had been heard from in 3 weeks and the kids had a day off. Bulkhead couldn't be there as he had been sent on a mission with Wheeljack and Ultra Magnus. Raf and Bumblebee were off to the side playing a video game as Arcee and Jack were talking, no one knew where Miko was.

"We've had quite a ride huh Arcee?" Jack asked. "Yeah it has been." Arcee said chuckling. "We've gone through Airachnid multiple times, MECH and not to mention the looming threat of the decepticons." Jack said. "Yeah partner, we've been through quite a lot." Arcee said thinking back to everything that she and Jack have gone through. "Woah partner huh?" Jack asked with a smile spreading across his face. "I figured it's about time you get promoted from junior partner." Arcee said while standing up and putting her hands on her hips.

"Jack I was wondering if it would be ok if we take a picture together?" Arcee asked sheepishly while rubbing her arm. Just as Jack was about to reply, Miko sprang out of nowhere. "Ah scrap Miko where did you come from?" Arcee asked as she slightly jumped back in surprise. "That doesn't matter, I heard the word picture." Miko said. "Of course you did." Arcee said groaning. "I'll take the picture with you Arcee." Jack said while laughing. "Good I know exactly how to set up the picture." Miko said as she set up the picture. The picture was Arcee leaning back on her wrists while Jack was sitting on her thigh with his hands behind his head.

"There photo taken" Miko said as she snapped the photo with her phone. "Send that to me Miko." Jack said. "Already ahead of you bro." Miko said as Jack's phone buzzes with the message being delivered. "Hey Jack can you send that to me?" Arcee asked. "Already ahead of you Arcee." Jack said as the message arrived to Arcee with her tapping on her wrist to look at the photo. "Thanks Jack" Arcee said happy to have a photo of her and her partner. (End of Flashback)

Jack shook himself out of that thought and stared at the ceiling again. "Why did I have to mess it up?" Jack asked himself. (Flashback) Cybertron had just been restored and the autobots were giving their goodbyes. Bulkhead and Bumblebee had already said their goodbyes to Raf and Miko. All 4 of them were letting the tears flow or trying to hold them back. Arcee was dreading saying goodbye to Jack, he had the closet relationship to her than anyone else ever.

"Hey Jack can I talk to you?" Arcee asked trying to keep her voice strong. "Sure Arcee." Jack said as he followed her and climbed the ladder. "Jack I don't know how to say this, but - " Arcee was saying before Jack interrupted. "Arcee I know you guys are going back to Cybertron, we've had quite the ride huh?" Jack asked with a sad smile on his face. "Keep in touch Jack, don't make me hunt you down." Arcee said as her voice broke and she was blinking back the energon tears. "Before I go bring it in partner." Arcee said as Jack hugged her. Arcee nearly pulled Jack off the platform, he had a special relationship with her closer than what she had with Cliffjumper and tailgate.

Jack was blinking back tears too, as Arcee started to walk away. "Wait Arcee" Jack called as he ran to catch up with her. Arcee turned towards Jack with sadness in her eyes. "Arcee please don't go, your my motorcycle, guardian, best friend and you're as close as family. Please I can't live without you." Jack said as his lip was trembling and he was blinking back the tears.

"Come on Arcee, be strong you need to go home. If you look back you won't be able to go home." Arcee thought to herself as she walked into the portal without even looking back. Jack just collapsed onto the ground in sadness that Arcee had just left him. Once Arcee was gone, Jack didn't leave his room for a whole week as he stared at the photo of him and Arcee. (End of Flashback)

Jack at this point had realized how selfish that was to ask Arcee to stay, he knew he had ruined his relationship with her. Tears streamed down Jack's face as he thought back to this.

(Arcee POV after returning to Cybertron) Arcee just didn't look back as she walked through the space bridge and once she had she looked around at the newly revived Cybertron. She was so happy to see that her home was back to its glory. (2 weeks later) Once Arcee was able to have some time alone when she went into her quarters, she processed what happened with Jack collapsed in sadness and broke down crying while staring at the picture of them. "Please don't hate me Jack." Arcee thought to herself." "Jack had begged her to stay and she couldn't even look back to him, how awful of a partner she is for doing this. Partners don't abandon partners that's what Jack had said when they encountered Airachnid, and she had just abandoned him. After all they had been through Arcee had seen Jack go from a kid that didn't want to involved with them and the deceptions to someone who had leadership traits that rivaled Optimus Prime and would put his life on the line to save Cybertron. Oh Primus why did I have to mess it up." Arcee thought to herself as she quietly cried to herself.

"Arcee are you ok?" A voice asked as a knock on the door was heard. "Yeah I'm fine" Arcee tried to say in a strong voice as she wiped away the tears and opened the door. "What's up Optimus?" Arcee asked looking up at Optimus. I was just walking by, and if I'm not mistaken it sounded like you were crying." Optimus said. "What Optimus I wasn't." Arcee said trying to act tough. "Arcee you don't have to put up an act we're family" Optimus said as he put a hand on her shoulder trying to reassure her.

"I don't know Optimus, I just really miss Jack." Arcee said. "I miss Jack as well he is a special young man that I invest my trust in." Optimus said. Arcee continued. "I know it's normal to miss him, but I really miss him. I don't know why I miss him this much." "Maybe he meant more to you than you thought." Optimus said giving a small smile as he walked away. "Did Jack really mean more to her than she thought she had Tailgate and Cliffjumper before, but she just felt closer to Jack than either of them." "Huh I guess Optimus was right." Arcee said to herself "Hope you're doing ok partner." Arcee said as she looked out the window into space."

(Back with Jack 9 months after autobots left ) Jack was sitting in the after party at the wedding for his mom and agent Fowler. He was happy for his mom, he was actually breaking a smile for the first time in awhile. "Is Jack Darby cracking a smile?" A voice called as he turned around. Jack turned around to see Miko and Raf walking up to him and sitting down at the table with him. "What's up guys?" Jack asked. "Oh nothing really except why are you avoiding us?" Miko demanded. "Miko don't". Raf whisper yelled from beside her. As Miko said this Jack's face turned to one of sadness before looking to his friends.

"I'm sorry guys it's just I miss Arcee a lot still. Jack said quickly blinking back some tears. "It's ok Jack Miko and I still miss Bee and Bulkhead." Raf said. "Yeah just take your time." Miko said. "Thanks guys." Jack said. The three of them started talking and catching up. "Oh yeah happy birthday in a week Jack." Raf said to Jack as they were eating. "Thanks Raf." Jack was turning 18 in a week.

 "Wait now that agent Fowler married your mom will you have to call him dad." Miko asked. Jack shuddered at this thought. "I hope they wouldn't try to get me to call him." Jack said. Soon the three burst into laughter again the trio of friends back together.
