(Update: Apparently the two chapters are out of order? I'm not so sure but I think so. So for those reading this chapter before the summer break one, then the story's in the wrong order- you can jump to the summer break chapter before reading this one.)

"I haven't been on a plane since moving to Japan," I murmured to myself.
"Hey, look. You can see the island from up here." My mother pointed out. I looked out the window and saw a huge island in the middle of the sea we were flying above.

The island was shaped in a triangle with circular lands at each corner consisting of landed properties, skyscrapers, and more.
The middle of the island had more facilities that are connected to them. A building taller than the rest sat in the middle.
Before the trip, I did some research on I-island so I knew what to expect from it. The island was protected by a barrier surrounding the perimeter of the island, which had a security level that is equivalent to that of Tartarus prison.
"Looks so cool!" I said excitedly, taking my phone out to take a photo.
"Is the photo even clear when you take it in a moving vehicle?" My mother said.
"It's clear enough."
"This plane will soon begin its descent to I-island" The pilot informed.
I turned my phone off and placed it on my lap.
"You should change into your hero costume in the bathroom. You asked the school if you could bring it with you, right?" My mother inquired. "Yep!" I responded.
I stood up and grabbed my case from the compartment above my seat, rushing to the bathroom. It was a race to get dressed before the plane landed.
After getting through the immigration inspection, I got a view of the island outside the airport entrance.
I gasped in excitement as I took in the view of the vibrant-colored buildings and skyscrapers. Some had curved roofs of red and surrounding them were grass and flowers of varying shades.
Greeting the visitors of this island were two quadrant-like structures with yellow-colored text saying "Welcome".
"It's so pretty!" I gleamed.
"Y'know, people on this island are allowed to use their Quirks as they wish, so there's a lot of attractions in the pavilions that use Quirks that we can go see." My mother told me. "First, let's head to the hotel. My bag's heavy. "
"Please," I replied.
————
I wanted to stay in the hotel room for a little longer but my parents encouraged me to explore since they had to stay inside to finish up some work.
I started making my way to one of the attractions, which was a villain course.
I walked over to the counter.
Awkwardly, I told the lady at the front desk that I wanted to try out the course. She gave me a nod and registered me in, informing me to wait inside the building.
"Thank you," I bowed, pacing inside.
As I waited for my turn, I watched the other contestants defeat the robots on a tall mountain in The Central field.
"I'm number 30..." I murmured to myself. Number 27 had just finished, and number 28 was coming out.
But as I watched, I noticed the person looked familiar. One look at the person's hair and I realized who it was. "Kirishima?!"
How is he here...?!
Kirishima went up and easily destroyed the machines with his hardened arms, causing the machines to break and explode as he climbed up.
"A clearance timed at 33 seconds! He's in eighth place!"
I clapped quietly from inside the stadium, good for him!
"Please welcome our next Challenger!" The host said
Then, to my surprise, Bakugo stepped forward.
"The attack scores have been reset! Ready...go!"
He immediately created huge explosions to launch him into the air, using more flame power to take down the machines, a blow for each of them.
When there was only one left, he shouted out loud, "DIE!"
"Look at that time! Only 15 seconds! First place!" The host said, her mouth in an "O" shape.
I looked around, wondering if any of my other classmates were there. I then noticed Yaoyorozu, Uraraka, Jiro, Iida, and Midoriya in the stands.
They're all here...?!
But within a few seconds, I saw Bakugo yelling at Midoriya as everyone tried to calm him down. I looked at the host and waved my hand awkwardly, pointing at the field. She nodded and announced my turn.
"The scores have been reset! Let's see how our next challenger does!"
I took a step out. Well, a hero shouldn't be afraid to show their strength, I got this, no backing out now.
I looked up and saw my classmates' looks of surprise. I waved at them in response.
"Ready? Go!" The host exclaimed.
I took my staff out and shot myself upwards, shooting water at each robot I saw, rendering them malfunctioned.
Transforming the water emitting from my staff into platforms for me to fly on and shoot, I hit the last robot in the center of its torso with water being shot like a projectile. It burst into another explosion upon impact.
As I made flew back to the ground, I could hear the host. "Woah fast! 20 seconds! She's in third place!"
My friends were congratulating me as I flew over to the stands.
"Kanami! How'd you get here?" Kirishima inquired,
"My family got an invitation to the Expo," I answered.
"You think you could beat me, huh Kanami?!" Bakugo scowled.
"The opponents are robots and my Quirk is water-based, of course they'd break easily," I told. "Plus I took longer than you."
I then noticed there was an unfamiliar blonde girl with them.
"Who's she?" I whispered to Uraraka.
The girl seemed to have read my face and her smile was immensely bright as she introduced herself. "Nice to meet you! I'm Melissa Shield. You must be one of their classmates, your quirk is really interesting! Do you have any support weapons or anything?"
I could sense a strong passion in her, it made me feel comfortable.
"I'm Raiha Kanami." I introduced. "All I have is this battle staff I guess, It only contains some of the water I emit and I can use it in melee combat."
I pressed on the buttons on its sides to shorten it.
"Oh, it's compact!" She said,
"Mhm."
"We've got a new challenger coming at the last minute! Will he come out on top? Or fail in front of the entire expo!" The host announced.
I look over the railings to see Midoriya in a starting stance. "What?"
"Bakugo forced Midoriya to try the course out to see if he could get a better score than him."
"I see..."
I saw pinkish-red lines covering Midoriya's body. Then, smoke clouded the air.
"The attack course is set! Ready..go!"
He runs up the hill as fast as lightning, punching each machine down with a strike.
"An incredible run! He's in third place with 16 seconds!"
The crowd cheered loudly. I, too.
"WHAT? NO WAY" Bakugo yelled. What followed was gibberish I couldn't comprehend.
"AHH! THIS IS INSANE! 14 SECONDS! THIS GENTLEMAN HAS GOTTEN TO FIRST PLACE!" The host loudly squealed, making my shoulder jump.
We all looked down to see Todoroki enter the field.
"Todoroki's here, too?" Midoriya said.
"Another one from U.A.?" Melissa asked in surprise.
"Yes," Yaoyorozu replied. "Your class is amazing! You're gonna be such great heroes" Melissa praised.
The girls and I looked at each other with a bit of blush on our cheeks. "Oh please, you're too kind." Yaoyorozu smiled.
Suddenly Bakugo used his explosions to launch himself towards the field and at Todoroki.
"OUT OF THE WAY ICYHOT BASTARD,"
"Bakugo-" Todoroki said in his usual calm voice.
"YOU CAN'T JUST APPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE AND SHOW ME UP"
"Oh, the others are here too."
"DON'T IGNORE ME. WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING ON THE ISLAND ANYWAY?"
"My father was invited so I'm representing."
"Um the next person is waiting-" The host said.
"SHUT UP I'M DOING IT AGAIN."
"EVERYONE PLEASE STOP YOUR GONNA MAKE THE WORLD THINK THAT U.A. IS FULL OF DEGENERATES." Iida promptly chided, dashing over.
In a panic, me, Midoriya, and Kirishima rushed over to help. Kirishima held Bakugo from behind, trying to get him to stop moving around so much while I helped to create a shield to try and prevent Bakugo from scrambling.
"Calm down, calm down! It's my turn," I heard a familiar, feminine voice say.
Haruka?! Today's full of unexpected appearances.
"Haruka, what are you doing here?" Iida asked.
"I got to go with Todoroki. Extra ticket." She vaguely said, making a creature to push the guys out of the way.
The host readjusted her microphone and coughed. "U-Uhm, anyways, let's welcome our next contestant! The scores have been reset for you. Ready...go!"
We made room for Haruka and watched as she stayed still on the ground, raising her hand to make a line of three creatures spawn up the mountain with limbs strong enough to hit the robots down.
"Great job! 20 seconds, tied with another in third place!" The host announced.
"Good job!" I praised, giving her a high-five.
"Thank you," She smiled, "That was exhilarating."
