A/N: SEASON 3 LET'S GO!!
Also, update- pretty sure the next two weeks won't be having any updates since exams are in less than a week now
But anyway, hope you enjoy this chapter 💗
———-

It's been a few days since the incident at I-island, and everybody has returned to Japan. Those of us who had fought against the villains were given a big warning. However, we explained to them that we only fought because that was the only way we could release the heroes inside the building.

They noted that fighting wasn't our original plan until we were put into a dire situation and left us off with a warning. Despite being drained, we were all excited for the upcoming summer. It would be a few days until camp, and during that, we can finally catch a break.

However, today the girls and I decided to go to the school pool to hang out.

"I can't believe that we are having a training camp in the woods! I bet it'll be fun!" Uraraka squealed.
"Imagine staying up and chatting or playing games!" I add.
"Mhm!"
"C'mon girls hurry! We gotta get to the pool!" Mina called.
"Wait," I laughed, picking up my pace.

We got to U.A. and went into the changing rooms to put on our school swimsuits before heading to the pool. Having gotten permission to play in it, we had brought a beach ball to hit around as we swam.

Surprisingly, some of the guys from our class were there too. They said Midoriya, Kaminari, and Mineta had invited them all for extra training.

We waved at them, going to the edge of the pool to do some stretches.

While chatting, we noticed Kaminari and Mineta enter through the doors. Both of them turned around to look at us. They had a look of slight disappointment in their eyes, ew. Glad I wore the school-issued swimsuits then...

After warming up, the girls and I got in the pool to play volleyball.
"Ready? Serve!" Uraraka started as she threw the ball in the air. We continued to play around happily, laughing and having an overall joyous time together.

"That was close...!" I said, using water to push the ball back down.

Suddenly all of us heard Iida shout, "Everyone, do you want to see which of the boys can swim 50 meters the fastest?"

We watched as all the guys got hyped up and we decided to get out of the water.
We walked over happily and offered our help. "Thanks!" Iida smiled.
"What about Quirks? Can we use them?" Ojiro asked.
"We're at school, so there shouldn't be a problem. However, you cannot cause damage to any people or buildings!"

Bakugo had a grin plastered across his face, walking over to Midoriya, "I'll crush you, Deku!" He declared, looking over to Todoroki who was sitting down, "Of course, I'll crush you, too, Half-and-half-bastard!"

We all gathered at the length of the pool, while Mineta, Tokoyami, Kota, Bakugo, and Kaminari got ready to race. "Then, on your marks...get set..." Yaoyorozu said, blowing the whistle to signal "go!"

Four of them started swimming while Bakugo leaped into the air and used his explosions to propel himself across the pool. "Explosive speed turbo!" He shouted, landing on the ground and pointing at us, "How was that? You extras?!"

"What do you mean, 'How was that?!" Sero rebuked.
"You didn't even swim!" Kirishima added.
Bakugo made explosions in his hands with a scrunched-up face, "It's freestyle!"
I rolled my eyes and laughed to myself, looking back at the swimmers coming up on the diving boards.

Next was Sero, Aoyama, Sato, Kirishima, and Todoroki's turn. Once Yaoyorozu blew the whistle, the five of them got in motion. Sero used his tape to swing himself across while Aoyama used his laser to get across but proceeded to crash into Sero. Todoroki used his ice to get across the pool, sliding on his ice skilfully while Kirishima and Sato swam.

Wow, even Todoroki chooses not to swim.

The next round was Iida, Midoriya, Ojiro, and Shoji.
They immediately dove into the water once Yaoyorozu blew the whistle, all swimming at a fast speed. Well, Iida was the fastest since he used his quirk and he was balancing on a lane rope. I observed Midoriya as the water glowed bright green, using his quirk to catch up to our class rep.
Water from Midoriya's lane splashed violently as he raced towards to other end of the pool.

Eventually, Midoriya hit the wall of the pool first and was concluded the winner!

"Wow!" Everyone applauded.
I clapped happily for the two of them as they were showered with praise. I looked around and made unintentional eye contact with Kirishima, silently laughing and pointing at my fringe to point out that his hair and fringe were messy. He let out an embarrassed grin while moving his hair back with his hand.

"The winners of each heat: Bakugo, Todoroki, and Midoriya—will race for first place. Is that alright?" Iida announced.
"Yep," Midoriya answered.
"Yeah," Todoroki said.
"Hey, Half-and-Half Bastard!" Bakugo shouted, "Don't hold back like you did at the sports festival. Come at me seriously!"
"All right." He responded.

"You too, Damn Deku!"
"A...All right, Kacchan" The freckled boy stammered.

"Then, the 50-m freestyle final will begin now!" Iida announced.

"Go, Bakugo!" Kirishima cheered.
"Don't kill the other guys!" Kaminari teases at Bakugo
"Todoroki, don't lose!" Sero shouted.
"Do your best, Deku!" Uraraka sided.
"Everyone, fight!" Yaoyorozu encouraged.
"Do your best!" I motivated.

"On your marks..."

Bakugo prepared an explosion, Todoroki formed ice around his hand, and Midoriya shone light green.

"Get set.." Iida said before blowing the whistle.

The three tried to use their quirks but they suddenly all fell back into the water. "Wh-What?" Kaminari gaped, confused. Sero raised his brow, "Their Quirks were erased?"

I turned around to the door, "Guys, Aizawa's here."
"It's 5p.m." Aizawa told us sternly, "your pool use time has now ended. Hurry up and go home"
"Come on, Mr. Aizawa!" Kaminari whined.
"We just got to the good part!" Sero says disappointedly. Aizawa shot a glare at us with his red, glowing eyes "Did you say something?". I stiffened up and answered "Nothing, sir!"
Unsurprisingly, the class said it all in unison too. The girls and I went back to change into casual clothes, then we separated ways to get home.

————

"U.A. High has finished its first semester and started summer vacation. However...those of you trying to be heroes will not receive days of rest. At this summer training camp, we'll have you aiming for even greater heights—for Plus Ultra!"
"Yes, sir!" We all cheered.

"I can't wait to go to the camp!" I told Kirishima.
"Yea! It's gonna be fun!" Kirishima vivaciously replied. Suddenly Uraraka sped past us and cheered, "I-It's time for training camp! Training camp! Training camp!" while clapping and moving side to side, but what intrigued me was that her face was so red.
But, I started laughing when Mina and Kaminari joined Uraraka in her cheering

But to the class's demise, Monama appeared to taunt us once again. "What? There are people in Class A taking extra classes? Does that mean you had people who failed the finals? What? Isn't that weird? Isn't that weird? Even though they're supposed to be way better than Class B? How can that be?"

Each sentence he said just got worse and worse, but Kendo knocked him out before he spurted anything else out. Ouch.
"Sorry!" Kendo apologized, dragging Monama away by his collar.

"We kind of met during the sports festival, but nice to meet you, Class A," A sharp teeth girl spoke. A girl with a blank face nodded at us too.

"We're getting on the bus!" Kendo alerted her class.

The girls from class B started making their way onto their bus while laughing.

"Not just the girls from Class A, but the girls from Class B will also be there! It'll be like a buffet we can pick and choose from!" Mineta drooled.
"Mineta, contain yourself," I scowled.
Kirishima took notice and turned to the short pervert, "That's about enough out of you."

"Class A's bus is this way!" Iida shouted, "Line up in seat order!"
We all excitedly boarded the bus, getting to our seats.

"Everyone, the bus will stop once in about an hour. After that—" Aizawa said.
"Let's play some music!" Kaminari loudly suggested.

I, Haruka, and Rui got to take the last 5 seats at the back of the bus, so we had tons of space. Usually, whenever classes go on a field trip, the bus gets filled with chatter until the teacher had to intervene and this class was the same. We went in and on, telling each other scary stories to help distract Aoyama from feeling ill (he got carsick.)

After an hour, we finally reached our destination. Once I got out of the bus, I stretched my arms and cracked my knuckles, ready for camping. There was chatter amongst the students but I didn't process any of it and stared at a light brown road. A jet-black car was driving over and started slowing down as it got closer to the hill we were on.

"There's no point stopping without a reason," Aizawa said. We all looked at him with confusion "Huh?"
The car I was eyeing stopped and its steel doors swung open, "Hey, Eraser!" A voice called out. "Long time no see" Aizawa greeted with a respectful bow.

Suddenly, a group of people with flashy hero costumes stepped out of the car, along with a kid who immediately walked off to the side.

Odd.

"Lock on with these sparkling gazes!" A lady in red exclaimed.
"Stingingly cute and catlike!" A lady in blue added.
"Wild, wild...Pussycats!" They both shout in bizarre poses.

I wasn't sure what to think and just stood frozen. I've heard of these heroes from my father but I never expected rescue heroes to be so energetic.
"These are pro heroes who will be working with us during the camp, the Pussycats" Aizawa informed us.

The hero fanboy, Midoriya, not surprisingly started blabbering, "They're a four-person hero team who set up a joint agency! A veteran team that specializes in mountain rescues! This year will be their twelfth workin-"
The blonde girl in blue shushed him violently and whisper-snarled, "I'm 18 at heart!... At heart...?"
"Y-You're 18!" Midoriya stammered, shaking nervously.

"Greet them, everyone," Aizawa instructed.
"Nice to meet you!" We say in unison.

"We own this whole stretch of land here. You all will be staying at the bottom of that mountain." The lady in red explained, pointing at the place.

I looked at the view from the place we were at and it was full of greenery and fauna, I took note of the delightful smell of jasmine air. Far off in the distance, I could see the outline of a wooden base.

Why are we so far?

"Huh? Then why did we stop here?" Uraraka asked.
"Could this mean...?" Tsu said.
"No way.." Sato said nervously. I caught on to what they meant, "It's morning, must we..."
"Why don't we get back to the bus, huh? Fast-" Sero suggested.
"Yeah. let's do that-" Kaminari said with his voice becoming slightly hoarse.

"It's 9:30 a.m. right now. If you're fast...maybe around noon?" The lady in red said.
"No way...guys..."
"Let's get back!" Mina yelled.
"Get back to the bus!" Kirishima shouted as the others all started to run. "Huh, wait!" I called, running along with them. "Kitties who don't make it by 12:30 won't get any lunch!" The hero added. Meanwhile, the lady in blue jumped in front of the bus and presumingly activated her quirk, sending us off the hill.

I screamed but quickly saved myself by making a cocoon of water.

I looked up and the lady in red appeared, "Hey! Since it's private land, you can use your Quirks as you wish! You have three hours! Come to the facility on your own two feet!"

I gave her a thumbs up and that's when she said "After getting through...The Beast's Forest!"

The what?

I flew over to the girls and helped them up.
"U.A. does stuff like this way too much" Jiro complained.

Kirishima got up and shook the dirt off his shirt. "It's no use complaining. We just have to go!"

Will we really take just three hours to get from her to the camp?
Oh well, at least approximately, this'll be done around late noon.

Mineta looked frantic and dashed into the forest before freezing dead in his tracks. In front of him emerged the silhouette of a menacing, jagged creature. It had horns emerging from its mouth, as well as hollow sockets for eyes. The creature shook slightly yet its limbs were thick with matte brown matter, with pieces of it crumbling with each step it took. A large abomination of soil and dirt.

"Goodness what the heck?" I said. UA sure loves going all out on things.

Koda started shouting, "Calm down, kind beast! Stay back!" As to try and communicate with it while Midoriya saved poor Mineta.
Instinctually, however, the whole class started attacking these creatures.

Todoroki froze the beast's leg and Iida smashed its arms with a high kick. "Die!" Bakugo yelled, exploding the other arm to bits.
Midoriya did the final blow, punching the beast's torso apart.

"You guys defeated that beast in an instant?" Sato praised
"You did it!" Sero said.
"You're amazing, Bakugo!" Kirishima praised.
"Not yet!" Bakugo shouted.

I got higher in the air with my water platform and shouted to everyone from below "There's more!"
"There are three up ahead! Two each on either side!" Shoji shouted.
"Seven total. They're coming!" Jiro added.

There was one approaching us already but Sero shot his tape at it and pulled the beast down by its wing, "Sato! Kirishima!"

I flew above the creatures that were busy fighting my classmates on the ground, shooting them with water to make them moist and crumble.
Haruka created a creature slightly bigger and altered it to roughly match the dirt monsters, controlling it to pummel into the cores of each dirt opponent.

Hagakure ran and distracted the dirt beasts, giving Mina time to melt their feet of them into the dirt. Immobile, Kaminari hopped onto the stock-still monster and zapped it to dust. As he did, Rui jumped in and tore the monsters around him into pieces with her avatar before they could hit her.

I saw Iida raise his arm, "Let's hurry, Class A!"

And after what felt like ages, we reached the camp. I was exhausted and the sky being orange at this point didn't help.
Gosh, my head hurts.

My back was sore and my eyes heavy, I just wanted to go to bed.
I looked around a little. Everyone seemed bone-tired. I'm pretty sure they all hit their limits.
"What do you mean, three hours?!" Sero shouted.
"That's the time it would've taken us. Sorry!" One of them apologized.
"You were trying to boast about how much better you are? That's mean..." Sato said.

"I'm hungry...I'm gonna die..." Kirishima wheezed.
"But honestly, I thought it would take even longer. You guys didn't have as hard a time beating my earth beasts as I thought you would. You guys are great...especially...you four!" The blonde-haired woman said, pointing at Iida, Midoriya, Todoroki, and Bakugo.
"Were you able to act without hesitation because of your experience? I'm looking forward to where you'll be in three years!" She continued, crowding the boys with attention.

"Mandalay...was she always like that?" Aizawa asked.
"She's a little desperate since she's about the suitable age for, you know..." Mandalay explains. "Speaking of suitable age," Midoriya said but was interrupted by the blonde lady's paw-like glove shutting his mouth. "What about it?" She said scarily.
"I-its been bothering me for a while..whose child is that?" Midoriya said as he pointed to the small kid standing near Mandalay.

I was curious about him, too.

"Oh, he's not one of ours. He's my cousin's kid." She explained, "Come on, Kota. Greet everyone. You'll be with them for the week."

Midoriya approached the kid, greeting him "Oh, um, I'm Midoriya from U.A. High School's hero course. Nice to meet you." He said as he crouched down to shake his hand, that's when Kota punched Midoriya's...

He was wheezing in pain the next moment on his knees and Iida was trying to help him stay upright. "You brute of a nephew! Why would you do that to Midoriya's scrotum?!"
Kota glared back at him and answered, "I don't intend to hang out with wanna-be heroes!"
"'Intend'? Just how old are you?!" Iida shouted back.

What happened to the kid?

"Enough with this charade. Get your stuff off the bus. Once you've put your bags in your rooms, we'll have dinner in the cafeteria. After that, You'll bathe and go to sleep. We'll start for real tomorrow. Now, move quickly." Aizawa ordered.

As I grabbed my bags, I heard footsteps approaching from behind me. "You must be Kanami, right? You have an amazing quirk. I'm Mandalay. Nice to meet you!"
I heaved my bag up and turned around, giving a respectful bow. "Oh, nice to meet you too, Mandalay."

"I heard about you a little since your father's agency specializes in the rescue section too. It seems like you have a water-based quirk. You're great at controlling it! You know, Kota over there has a water quirk too. Maybe you can try talking to him?"

Her praise over my mastering of my quirk made me feel like my soul lit up. "Ah, thank you! He doesn't seem to like heroes though."
"I know but I think you could do something. Go for it, I'll help out your bags in the room." She said with a smile. I nodded and handed her my bag, bracing myself for an insult.

I approached the kid, Kota was crouching on the ground, hitting the hard yellow dirt with a stick.

I waved, "Hi, I'm Kanami."

I cringed, it felt weird introducing myself for some reason. I kept on a smile.

I continued, "I know you're not really fond of heroes but Mandalay over there told me you have a water-based quirk."

"Eh?! So? How does that concern you?" Kota scoffed. He seemed repulsed that I even approached him, inching a few centimeters away.

I bit the corners of my lip and made water from my hand, using it to orbit slowly and beautifully around us. "I have something similar,"
