Julianna sent me a text message after she left and when I was already ready for bed. She told me to scout around the place and if there were any vampires, I would have to kill them. I scouted three blocks, but found no traces of vampires anywhere so I just went home. I wasn’t expecting my apartment to have lit candles and rose petals everywhere and especially, Harry. I would think that my name-calling would’ve made me be the person to have to look for him.

Harry pulled away and smiled. Feeling the guilt trying to come out of me, I shook it off and allowed myself to go back into Harry’s life.

“I thought we were done,” I whispered.

He slid his hands across my cheek. I leaned my head towards his hand, enjoying his touch. “Doesn’t seem like we’re done,” he said softly. “I’m not going to give up on us, and neither should you, Jazlyn.”

“It’s just…”

He kissed my hand. “Baby, I know that you’re scared about our kind after what happened to your parents. I know how you look at our kind, but I’m not like them. My family will protect you from the coven that will come after us.”

“Angelina agreed to this?”

“She wants you to move in with us until the threat is over.”

“Really?” Getting close to Angelina might be easier than I thought it would be able to live with them. “I thought she hates me.”

“No, she doesn’t.” He kissed the side of my neck. “She understands everything.”

“What do you mean?”

He sighed, “Angelina has a gift. She can get information out of her victims by drinking the right amount of their blood.”

“Even vampires?”

He nodded. “She drank from me and now she knows everything.”

“Everything as in…”

“She knows my feelings, what I did, or said. My guess she knows from the very first day I met you, till tonight after you broke up with me.” He placed his fingers underneath my chin and made me look up at him. “Did you only do it because you were afraid? Be honest with me.”

If I were honest with you, you’d hate me. “Yes,” I whispered.

“You don’t have to be afraid,” Harry promised me. “Jazlyn...I love you. I love you and I will do whatever it takes to protect you.”

There was a lump in my throat, tears just waiting to fall down. “You...love me?” I cracked. “Harry, you barely know me.”

“My feelings are clear,” he whispered. “I’ve lived for a long time. All my years, I never met a girl like you. You’re headstrong, stubborn, vulnerable, and your heart is so good. I love you, Jazlyn. There’s nothing in the world that would change that.”

I grabbed him and kissed him passionately. His hand knitted into my hair while the other shoved me against the wall. He slipped his fingers a little bit in my pants and pulled so that I could be even closer to him. I felt his teeth lightly nibble on my lower lip, making me sigh with pleasure. His hands swayed its way down my sides, to my back, and then to my butt. He lightly squeezed it and lifted me up. My legs wrapped around his hips, continuing for him to kiss me. His hands grabbed my wrists and placed them over my head. Harry leaned away slightly and created a trail from side to side of my chest. I titled my head back, enjoying the pleasure that he was giving me. His hands slid down my shoulders and felt every curve in my body.

I slid off him and looked deep into his eyes. He knew what I wanted and I knew that he wanted it too. He scooped up in his arms and while he kissed me, we headed to the bedroom. Harry sat me down on the bed and knelt down on the floor in front of me. He leaned over and began to kiss my neck. I tilted my head back so that he could get more access. His lips traveled downwards, kissing every open space that my shirt provided.

His fingers were playing with the hem of my shirt, teasing me. I lifted up my arms so that he could remove the shirt and I yanked open his shirt. He threw his shirt to the side and slid on the bed, hovering over me.

Harry leaned over and using his lips, he slid one of my bra straps down and did the exact same with the other. Feeling nervous, I caressed Harry’s cheek. He looked at me and took notice of my nervousness, so he lightly kissed my lips, giving me the comfort not to feel nervous. I kissed him harder. His response was grabbing my legs and pushing me up on his lap.

In one swift motion, my bra was unstrapped by the touch of Harry’s hand. He grabbed the front part of it and took it out of the way. Harry glanced down, enjoyed the view, stroked me, and continued to kiss me. Our kisses became hot and more desperate than before. Maybe it was because of the bare skin against bare skin feeling that we were having with each other.

I loved how he looked at me. He looked at me as if I was the most beautiful girl in the whole world. With every stroke and every kiss Harry gave me, I felt more and more beautiful and unafraid. I needed to feel this way everywhere. I guided his hands to my jeans that he unbuttoned willingly and shrugged it off. Once the jeans were off, he removed his lips from mine and traveled downwards. I sucked in a breath from the feelings I was getting. Harry shrugged off his own jeans and stared at me.

“Jazlyn,” he said in a husky voice. “If we go any farther, there’s no stopping. If you want me to stop, tell me now.”

I should’ve told him to stop, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t tell him to stop because of how bad I wanted him, how bad I needed him. I entwined my fingers through his hair and looked at him intensely. “I don’t want you to stop,” I breathed. “I love you, Harry.”

With his question answered, Harry continued and just as he said, he didn’t stop. Whenever I felt an emotion, Harry would kiss me and it would go away. Even when it came to the point that his fangs were exposed, he continued only avoided kissing me until his fangs were gone. From the way he was, I could tell that he truly meant what he said. He truly did love me and I truly love him. Even though I’m lying to him, I still love him. I was going to betray the man I love, but until that day were to come. I refused to let it get to me. I wanted to love Harry as much as I could until the time was to come for me to do it.

When it was done, Harry wrapped his arms around me and we both stayed like that throughout the night. He would draw patterns on my back and I ran my fingers up and down on his chest and arms. The candles that were lit continued to flicker, as we stared at each other. A soft light orange tint made Harry’s skin glow and eyes sparkle.

“It was your first time, wasn’t it?” Harry asked me.

“Was it obvious?”

He nodded. “If I knew you were…”

I rested my chin on his chest. “I would’ve still allowed you to make love to me.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

I shrugged, “Well, it was never brought up and when have you ever allowed us to have one decent conversation without you kissing me?”

“It’s not my fault that you’re irresistibly beautiful.”

I giggled, “You’re very experienced.”

“I had time to learn a few tricks.” Harry glanced down at me. “So about moving in…”

“Are you sure that’s a good idea?” I asked him. “I really don’t want to be on Angelina’s bad side more than I already am.” Or will be...

“Baby, it was her idea to let you live with us. Besides, it works out for the two of us, except you have school.”

“Well, it’s more of a program rather than school,” I inform him. That’s pretty much what Hawthorn Academy is, a program for vampire hunters. “They don’t really care that much about attendance and we don’t get graded on anything either.”

“Then there isn’t anything to worry about,” Harry smiled, kissing my cheek. “We’ll leave in the morning.”

“I thought vampires can’t go out in sunlight,” I commented, even though I already knew that they were able to walk around in the sun whenever they want.

“That’s only if we didn’t drink a lot of blood. I’m healthier than a horse so I can walk, dance, run, even sing in the sun without getting burned.”

“How long can you stay out there?”

“The longest I stayed out there was for at least five hours.”

“Wow,” I looked up at him. “What else is true about you vampires anyway?”

“I’d tell you, but then I’d have to turn you,” he laughed. “I would love answering all your questions about our kind, Baby, but Angelina will kill me if I tell you anything more about our kind. She really has big trust issues.”

“I don’t want her to kill you, so I’ll stop asking.”

“Thank you,” he said. “Do you still have a hatred for my kind?”

I sighed, “I don’t know. You and your family kind of proved what I always believed what vampires were wrong. Yeah, you drink blood, but you have such nice hearts. It confuses me a little bit.”

“We don’t enjoy the kill,” Harry uttered. “We kill to survive.”

“I know, you told me that before.”

“Do you believe it?”

I nodded, “I actually do.”

Harry caught me yawning and wrapped his arms around me more tightly. “Sleep, Baby, moving day is later on.”

“‘Kay,” I said, sleepily. Within seconds, I fell asleep in Harry’s arms. I fought off the feelings that I had at the pit in my stomach. There wasn’t time to be going through them. Enjoy what is happening now and figure it out later, I thought, and don’t get yourself killed.

At noon, my things were already packed up. Harry said that I didn’t need to worry about furniture and that I should only pack some of my clothes. Before we were to leave the apartment, I texted Julianna telling her about how I was invited to stay with the vampires. She sent me a text to do whatever it took to get information and trust out of Angelina and to be careful, along with calling her to tell her if I settled in alright.

When I walked inside Harry’s place, it looked like there was no fight that took place. Everything that was broken from Angelina’s fight with Harry was either replaced or fixed. I glanced over at Harry, who was looking around the place.

“What’s wrong?”

“I’m surprised at how quiet it is…” Harry looked around. “Where is everyone? Angelina? Louis? Zayn? Liam?” I called out.

Liam appeared in front of us. “Where have you been?”

“We made up,” Harry said, wrapping his arm around me sweetly. “Did anything happen last night that I should know about?”

“Louis doesn’t know, if that’s what you mean.”

“He doesn’t know about Niall?”

Liam shook his head and I looked at the two of them. “Who’s Niall?”

“Angelina’s boyfriend,” Harry answered. “There’s a little love triangle going on between Angelina, Niall, and Louis. It’s pretty interesting.”

“I want to hear it,” I smiled.

Harry was about to answer but Liam cleared his throat, making Harry not say anything. He leaned over and whispered, “Another time.”

I heard the soft sounds of footsteps descending from the stairs, making me look up. Angelina walked down the stairs with a man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He had a kind face, yet carried a sense of knowledge about him. Angelina was wearing a silk black robe and underneath, dark red nightgown. The man that was with her was wearing silk pajama pants and no shirt.

“Hello, Jazlyn,” Angelina greeted. “How was your night?”

“Great,” I smiled, looking at Harry.

“Good,” Angelina nodded. “I hope you staying here won’t trouble you.”

“Oh, it’s not a problem,” I assured her. “I hope we didn’t get on the wrong foot yesterday. I don’t want to make a bad impression.”

“It’s alright,” Angelina smiled sweetly. “I look forward to getting to know you. You must be a very special girl to be able to win Harry’s heart. I’m excited to get to know you better.”

I kept my smile plastered on my face. “Great! Harry has told me all about you.”

Her eyes drilled at Harry. “Not too much, I hope.” She glanced over at the mystery vampire and leaned against him. “Jazlyn, this Niall. Niall, this Jazlyn, Harry’s girl.”

He nodded once at me. “It’s a pleasure to meet your acquaintance,” Niall said respectably. Niall glanced back at Angelina, “Princess, we have much to discuss still. Shall we continue?”

“Of course,” Angelina looked back at us. “Behave,” she said, looking all of us and then disappeared right before my eyes.

“I didn’t know vampires could teleport,” I commented.

“We don’t,” Harry said, looking at me confused. “Where’d you get that idea?”

“Well, one minute we are at my apartment, next we aren’t, and just now, Angelina and Niall were there, now they aren’t.”

“We are just quick,” Harry corrected me. “We can run very fast. Nothing can be able to catch or see us unless it’s another vampire.”

“Oh,” I nodded.

“You ready to live with a bunch of vampires?” Harry asked, nudging me.

“Kind of nervous,” I admitted, especially nervous about the chances of finding out the truth about me.

“Don’t be,” Liam smiled warmly. “We’ll treat you like family here and we won’t bite, if that’s what you’re worried about.”

Harry wrapped his arms around my waist. “No biting allowed,” Harry whispered in my ear, “Unless it’s by me.”

I turned around, laughing. “Oh really?”

“Really,” Harry grinned. God, I love his dimples. “Let’s put your things in my room.” He was about to lead me up the stairs, but I stopped.

Remembering that I needed to call Julianna, I looked up at Harry. “I need to call my aunt real quick. I’ll be out in the balcony, okay?”

“Alright, I’ll be upstairs. You know where my room is.” Harry walked up the stairs with my things and I walked over to the balcony to call Julianna.

“Hello?”

I winced, realizing Victor was the one who answered, “Hi, Uncle.”

“Where are you?”

“I don’t know. The vampires aren’t showing me the location. They don’t trust me yet.”

“How can they not trust you yet? I thought you were close with them.”

I’m actually in love with one of them, I thought, but saying that to Victor will make him drop on the ground dead or make hell freeze over. “I am,” I answered. “They are just being cautious right now.”

“Why?”

“A coven is apparently after them. The one who saved me caused problems with the dead vampires’ coven.”

“So, what’s going to happen?”

“The vampires I’m with now are just taking precautions. They are just sticking together and hiding, I guess. They don’t think the coven figured it out who these vampires are yet.”

“Are you going to prepare if they do?”

“Uncle, I can’t be. I have to pretend to be scared remember? I’m not a hunter to them and I’m not willing to risk possible exposure.”

“If you’re life is in danger, you will do whatever it takes to save it, regardless if you are roleplaying or not.”

I sighed, “Yes, Uncle.”

“Get in and get out, Jazlyn, I don’t have the time to bury another family member. Julianna told me about a boy that you were with at the apartment. You and the Black Knights don’t have time for the distractions. I don’t want you to see that boy ever again. Do you understand me?”

That boy happens to be a vampire. “Yes, Uncle.”

The phone disconnected and I leaned against the railing of the balcony. Not only was I lying to Harry, but I was also lying to my family. While I was betraying Harry by being a Black Knights’ hunter, I was also betraying my family by loving a vampire. If I told either one of them the truth, I would have nothing. There was going to big ultimatum coming soon. There will be a time where I would have to sacrifice either my family or Harry. Would I actually be able to choose? Is giving up the only family I had left for a vampire really worth it? In my head, it was, but in my heart, I feel like it would be worth it.

Victor wasn’t much of an uncle. He would occasionally send me birthday cards and visit during Christmas every few times, but I was never close to him. It wasn’t until my parents’ death where I became close with him.

God, what am I supposed to do?

Sighing, I walked upstairs and entered Harry’s room. I noticed that he was staring at something in my bag. I closed the door hesitantly and unsure if I should be worried or not.

“Harry?” I said, cautiously. “Harry, are you alright?”

Harry turned around with a wooden stake in his hand. His eyes were serious and unintelligible. He lifted it up, showing it to me. I tried my best not to show emotions or what not, but it was hard not to. I should’ve known better than to pack the stake in my luggage, but then again, I didn’t know that he would go through my things.

“Why do you have this?” he asked in a serious deadly tone.
