It had started when Tommy was very young. Dad and Technoblade had to go, because the voices were acting up and they didn't want to hurt him.

Them leaving hurt more than Techno's axe ever could.

Wilbur raised him whenever they left, which was at least twice a month, one week per adventure.

Why didn't Dad stay with his kids?

Wilbur taught him to walk. Wilbur taught him to say Dada, even if it was to him and not Dad. Wilbur taught him songs, and let him play his favorite guitar.

Wilbur taught him friendship, how to respond to emotions, Wilbur taught him how to live.

But Wilbur didn't know how. Wilbur had to raise himself.

Wilbur didn't know how, and he fell in love with a woman who left him and a baby boy. Tommy watched him try to raise the fox, and he helped him by doing more chores, and singing the songs, and Fundy's first words were Dada and Unka Tm. 

When Techno brought home an amnesiac orphan instead of killing him, Ranboo joined the family. Wilbur and Tommy raised him too, but they didn't know how, and neither did Tubbo, the kid Phil found in a box with a bee, abandoned. (Phil abandoned him too)

Phil didn't raise Tubbo either.

Tommy was the one who spent hours learning Enderman and Ghast language, Wilbur learned fox. Phil didn't learn either one. Techno stuck with Common and Piglin.

When Phil and Techno would leave, Wilbur and Tommy were in charge. Wilbur would go shopping and make food, Tommy would stay home and teach the kids, and Tubbo would alternate depending on the circumstances.

Phil and Techno, despite their week long adventures, never brought home anything other than the occasional trophy for winning a tournament.

And Tommy just got used to following Wilbur, calling him Dad in private. Calling him Dad instead of Phil.

Tommy followed Wilbur to the SMP.

Tommy followed Wilbur to rebellion.

Tommy followed Wilbur to L'Manberg.

Tommy followed Wilbur to exile.

Tommy followed Wilbur to Pogtopia.

Tommy followed Wilbur, because that was all he knew how to do.

And now, Tommy was going to follow Ghostbur, one last time.

Into death.

Phil didn't deserve his family.
