Toph was utterly surprised when Sokka kissed her. She had been in the middle of a sentence when she felt him lean forward. His breath fluttered her hair, and their lips met agonizingly slow. There was a warm feeling in her stomach, almost like molten rock, that spread through her entire being. She focused on him now.

He had scooted closer to her, and was touching her checks in a swirling movement with his finger tips. His other had was gently twinned around her jet black hair. Toph didn't know what to do. After all, this was new to her. So she let her brain take over, enjoying the feeling of his soft lips moving against hers. She felt her hand grab a hold of the front of his parka while her other arm snaked around his warm neck. She messed with his ponytail, accidentally pulling the rubber band free. His chin length, chestnut hair flowed down to its original state of hanging around his smiling face.

She made a sound of apology against his mouth.

He smiled and managed to breath out against her lips, "Ssokay," before he kissed her again. Toph laughed, but was caught in the kiss again. Nothing, nothing could compare to this moment, the moment she had dreamed about for a long time. They staid like this, intertwined and lips on lips, for a while longer.

Someone cleared their throat. Her eyes shot open, and she pulled her lips away from Sokka's. His hands where caught in her hair. She couldn't pull her arms from around him, so she turned her ear, trying to hear who had disturbed them. She blushed, picturing Hakoda standing there, but she remembered hearing that he would be gone for a while. Still, she was utterly embarrassed, for any person that had seen them kissing could tease her. Sokka spoke.

"He-hey guys, didn't think you'd be home so early."

Toph processed his words in her mind. Now realizing who he was speaking to, she turned even more red, and she gave an audible gasp of embarrassment.

"Well... this is awkward," Aang stated.

Katara had a different reaction. She seemed almost excited. She punched her fist in the air.

"I knew it, I knew it! Yeah!"

Toph clutched his parka tighter in her small fist. She swallowed loudly, stalling them, in order to buy her brain time to think of something intelligent to say. It was still foggy from kissing Sokka. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. She tried again, this time succeeding. ( Well... sort of)

"Ung. I me-mean, we were just... Sokka was trying t-t-to fix my... I... Uh!" she breathed in frustration. She squeezed the back of his neck, gently, trying to communicate her SOS message. He understood her.

"I was trying to fix her... her... her hair pin! Yeah, I was trying to fix her hair pin." He didn't sound too convincing, with his pausing in between words and what not, but it would have to do. She wasn't sure he was trying his hardest to cover up what they were doing. She guessed this meant that he didn't care what they thought, as long as she was there with him.

"Sure you were," said Katara," and I'm airbending."

She wasn't surprised that the waterbender hadn't believed him. He didn't have enough time to come up with a decent lie. Toph was pretty sure she wasn't even wearing a hair pin, and he had stopped to think a couple times. She tried Sokka's approach on things with a funny remark.

"I don't know, are you airbending? I can't see, remember?" she seemed to be reminding them of this often.

"Yes, of course I remember. I was being sarcastic, and it's not possible for me to-"

"It is fully possible for you to airbend. I would just have to-" Aang tried to explain.

"Alright! My point is that you two were kissing. There's no denying it," she could tell that Katara was smirking by the tone of her voice. It implied that no further explanation was required for why they were kissing. She guessed it was obvious. Toph had been in love with him ever since she joined the group. She had turned hopelessly in love when he had saved her at the last battle with the Firenation. She didn't think it was clear for everyone to see, but it looked like Sokka was the only oblivious one, as usual.

Still, she objected. She held onto the hope that she could cover it up. Why, she didn't know. After all, this is what she had always wanted. When he said her name, it sent shivers down her spine. The way he had knotted his hands in her hair... well, she liked it. His smile, the way he could get under her skin with sarcasm, and that stupid ponytail, which he refused to change, all made her tingle.

"Fine, you caught us." Toph decided that she didn't care what the others thought. She loved him. This made her smile. He had feelings for her, and it was more deep than their friendship had ever been.

Hey guys! I'm sorry it took so long, but it was fun to write. I'm afraid it's too short. If any of you think so please tell me in comments. Thanks!
