EVIE stared at Will, doubled over in laughter. "Me?" he sputtered out in between bursts. "Powerful?"

Evie's dad didn't break his gaze. Evie was... well, flabbergasted was the only way to put it. He'd pulled her aside as soon as she'd entered his house. "Your mother sent you, I suppose. You had the dream?" She was shocked as she hadn't told anyone, save for Leo and Will.

Her father had then proceeded to explain that the four original Elementals now roamed the world, looking for worthy people on which to bestow parts of their powers. She'd laughed in his face at first, like Leo had. A blast of water straight from his hand kind of straightened things up. Then, he'd invited the boys inside and Evie had been forced to show her ability to breathe underwater, which she hated. She felt like a freak.

But now Evie knew there were others like her, it made her feel better. Accepted, even. It was crazy, as she hadn't even met any of them yet, apart from the two boys. Her dad had promised to try to seek the help of the sea elemental to guide them to a place where more people like her, Leo and Will would be safe.

Evie's dad frowned. "Not what I expected. Anyway, come inside so I can summon the sea." Evie exchanged uncertain glances with Leo and Will as they followed Mr Spencer back to the room with the lounge. He directed the three of them to the sofas. "Sit."

Then, Evie's dad stood up tall, took a deep breath, and began to recite the strangest thing she'd ever heard. "By the power vested in me by the Lord of the Sea, I call on you to help these three young elementals find their way."

Will snorted. "Are you serious? This is too far." Mr Spencer's face stayed impassive. He pointed behind Will's head, and where Evie looked where he was pointing she nearly fell off the sofa.

Standing behind her was a stern-faced man who looked to roughly be in his fifties. He had a steely grey beard and hair, and he wore a dark blue suit. He held a trident in his left hand. "And, Will Joseph, that's what I'd expect a child of the wind to say," the man said distastefully.

Will actually did fall off the sofa. Evie's father bowed low. "My lord, I thank you for your presence." The Lord of the Sea acknowledged him with a nod. "These young ones made a worthy trip, even if one of them is a child of the wind." He eyed Will, trying to climb back on the sofa and failing because he couldn't take his eyes off the strange man.

The Lord of the Sea approached Evie. "Eve Spencer, one of mine. I have never regretted the day when I chose to give you your abilities." Evie nodded. "Thank you, my lord."

The man turned to Leo, who just looked gobsmacked. "Leo Rico. All four of us fought over you, sensing you would be one of the greatest," he said, clearly disgruntled. "Unfortunately, Earth won you. Probably for the best, seeing how it has worked out."

Finally, the Lord of the Sea turned to Will. "Ah, Will Joseph. From the day you were born you radiated an aura of huge power. However, regrettably, it was obvious you'd be an out and out wind child. The Wind blessed you with almost the full extent of her powers. You have only unlocked a tiny corner of what you can do."

Will finally recovered his voice. "So, Sea Dude, where are us three supposed to go?" The Lord of the Sea frowned. "Did you just call me 'sea dude'?"

Will nodded. "I'm not one for formalities. Please could you answer my question?" Sea Dude nodded, annoyed. "I will transport you myself to a place where more of your kind rest safely. You will learn many things there, and quickly unlock the rest of your abilities."

Leo opened his mouth to speak, but the Lord of the Sea held up his hand to stop him. "After this, I foretell that soon you will have to embark on a quest. Somehow, I feel the world is at risk."
