To the Man I Vowed With
π‘π‘™π‘œπ‘” π‘π‘œπ‘ π‘‘

I married a man who loved someone else.

On the day of our wedding, I stood in front of him with trembling hands and a hopeful heart. Hope that he would love me the way I loved him.

Just as the flame slowly melts the ice and the seed waits for the rain, his heart will eventually learn to love me.

But in our case, love doesn't work like that.

He agreed to marry me because I was carrying his child, but his eyes told a truth that he couldn't deny. They searched for someone who wasn't me. His heart beats for someone else he couldn't set free.

I ignored the signs. I ignored the hurt in his voice when he said her name in his sleep. I ignored the distance between us, hoping that one day that will be me.

Then we lost him---our son.

I thought the pain of Kaiden loving someone else was enough,

But nothing hurt more than losing our son.

We both suffer. That's when I realized the truth: I couldn't make him happy.

We were just a mistake...

And as much as it shattered me, I knew the kindest thing I could do was to set him free.

So, I did.

I left.

No long explanations, no desperate pleas---just a signature in the divorce paper-just the cold, hard truth that I couldn't keep us together anymore.

This is Yanna,
your wife
who loved you enough
to let you go.
