"There are 16 classroom's with broadband connections, but anything dubious your minds may be drawn to, I have locked out." We followed Mr Blakeman into the new block.

"I've signed us up for this" Luke grinned as he showed us a poster.

"Lunchtime Science club?  And now i'm backing away."

"Clyde" i scolded and Mr Blakeman farted and we groaned in disgust. That was the tenth time in the past hour, it was never silent and it stank worse every time.

"Shut up" he called

"Why is farting funny?" Luke asked, was he serious one it's not two it's gross.

"Just is." Clyde replied

"Is not, it's disgusting, and the smell, things like that should just not exist" I complained,

"But it's a normal process of the human bowel"

"Are you for real?" Clyde asked a whiff went past me and it smelt both disgusting and weird at the same time, for a moment it was odd.

"It smells weird in here" we stopped at the top

"Farts?"

"I dunno, metal, electric." i scrunched up my nose.  Like the passing smell of batteries.

"Yeah i can smell it too." Clyde stated

"Like batteries." i nodded agreeing with him as he spoke what I had been thinking.

"Come on." we walked on.

"So, Luke. Have any other friends apart from Maria?" I asked looping my arm with his, then Clyde's, now having the space to do so.

"No." he shook his head . Awh that sweet innocent look. I broke out into a smile.

"Well congratulations you now have three." i grinned tugging on his arm a little bit with encouragement.

"Don't count me in this." I ignored my brother, he rarely knew what was best for him, which is why he had Mum and me, thought we wouldn't tell him that.

"So you want to be my friend?" he questioned, most would be happy to have a new friend in a new school, he seemed shocked that he'd gained two more.

"Sure, your a change from my loser brother."

"Hey!" Clyde looked at us and i laughed

"Love you really." i smiled moving to tweet his cheeks, he groaned in fustraion and slapped my hands away in annoyance.

"How do you do that?" Luke asked, I turned my attention back to him.

"Do what?"

"Say something not nice then say you love him and he's alright with it?" he was genuinely curious, which only made him more cute.

"We've always been like that. Just because i call him a loser doesn't mean he is. We always call each other names and muck about with one another. Its one of the many ways we show we care about each other." I explained, like most brother sisters relationships, most of our insults were said in light heartedness.

"So throwing a bucket of cold water is showing you care. I'm touched." i giggled and Luke looked confused.

"He was being stubborn to get out of bed so i threw a bucket of cold water on him."

-------

It had reached dinner time, I followed Clyde with our lunch over to Maria, who was sat by herself and there was no sign of Luke.

"Can we sit here?" he asked her

"Only if i'm not going to shame you" I laughed and sat down.

"Don't listen to him, my brother can be an idiot." she smiled as we sat down across from her.

"Well we can either sit here with you or sit there with that." he nodded over to a boy who was getting his head slapped by some boys.

"There's someone worse than me?" Maria wondered looking over as well. my brother really could be a different kind of annoying.

"Just" i shook my head in amusement.

"So where are you two from then?" Maria questioned making conversation with us.

"Hounslow" i replied

"Parent's split up so we moved down here with mum." Clyde added with a small shrug.

"Like me only i moved here with my Dad."

"Yeah, How's that?" Clyde wondered

"Better than them rowing all the time." i agreed  I went to eat my food but drooped the spoon

"Oh that's gross." i held my hand to my mouth my food was all mouldy and look like it had been there for weeks. It had mould creeping all over it.

"What's wrong with that? It's mouldy."

"What kind of slop are they serving here?" Clyde and I said at the same time

"Is it leftovers from last term or something." i wondered.

"Sir, Sir" he called over the headmaster as he was walking past us. Mr Blakeman stopped and turned to the three of us.

"what?"

"How am I meant to eat that?" he asked

"Just pick the bad bits off" i glared at him as he left he was so helpful (note the sarcasm)

"Great that leaves me with a pea" Clyde held it up. Maria looked at her food and it was the same.

"Mine's off too, that is disgusting." she shoved her tray away and I did the same.

"What's wrong with this place? It stinks, the food's rotten."

"Something weird is going on here." I voiced

--------

School finished and the four of us were walking out i saw the woman from earlier waiting for them.

"Here, wait" they stopped "Pass me your phones."  Maria handed me her's  and i punched my number in.

"At some point Clyde will bore me to death on something and I'll need someone to talk to."  I told them, Clyde shoved me slightly.

"You're hilarious Cate"  it just grinned at him.

"I know, i'm cooler too. You see i know good friends when i meet them." i handed Maria's and then took Luke's. texting from his phone so i had his number.

"There all done. Catch you later." They left and so did we.

"You were extra preppy, today." Clyde commented

"So? What are you complaining when i don't have the initiative to make new friends and when i do..."

"No, i didn't mean it like that. Being here is changing you." he stopped turning to me  and I did the same.

"Is that good or bad?" i asked

"Good, defiantly" he put his arm around me and we went home."
