"heard anything about the new guy??" Callie asked her best friend ,she just bumped into walking out the attendings
room.
"What's there to hear about him??" She asked not paying attention to the Latin woman towering over her wanting her attention. They have been best friends since their intern years and are still going strong on their girl-friend relationship. At first she thought that she was just annoying but as time went by they grow close to each other to the point where they tell each other everything. Callie is the only person that knows more about her personal life except for the Chief of surgery Doctor Webber who she takes not only as a friend anymore by as a father figure to her.
They also grow close after he gave her the Shark speech which changed her life forever. She is now feared and known for being a non-nonsense taker. She basically runs the whole hospital with no one wanting to be on her bad side.
"I heard he's hot as hell. He's been the talk of the whole hospital since he was seen entering the chiefs office" Callie said smiling. As now they were heading straight to where Webber told them to meet him since he has this big announcement to make. "Nurses , interns , Attendings and even hospital cleaners are revering about him ever since he set his foot here. I just can't wait to see him"
"Ain't you married Torres??does your wife appreciate you talking about man like this??" Miranda asked her best friend getting annoyed by her small talks about this new doctor.
"ohh chill out for a bit Miranda I know am married and I would never cheat on my wife but it's not wrong to complement a hunk you know. Anyways what's up with you? You don't look happy" She looked at her friend as they entered the lobby where they found other doctors and their friends waiting for the Chief to come.
Miranda blow out a breath and turned to look at Callie. "Tucker wore me out last night. You know I missed our anniversary and I was making up for it."
"Well that's great you should be smiling and glowing what's with the face??" She asked confused
"There's nothing to be smiling about when you had a man hamping on you the whole day you should be resting on your day off. I would be smiling if it was worth it but am not which should tell you something" She shifted her gaze forward as their friends approached them.
"Ohh God is he really that bad?? Miranda you and that man have been married for 7 years , you can't tell me he still can't satisfy you" Callie said trying not to laugh because who would still be married to a man thats not doing good in bed for 7 whole damn years? That's crazy. She knows her friend and husband have been having trouble lately in their marriage but she thought it was because Tucker complains a lot about Miranda not making it home in time or to their child's games or special days. She was sure he complained about her missing their anniversary but it was not her fault the man they were operating on kept on having complications making them take long in that OR.
"As much as I like to gossip to you about my business I would really like for this one to pass and for everyone to not hear about how unsatisfying my husband is. I can even barely say it was good am just limping for nothing barely had an orgasms for goodness sake"
"What orgasms? Who's orgasms?" Derek asked looking between Miranda and Callie.
"Since when we include you in our girl talk Dr Shepard?" Miranda asked furrowing her braws at the man next to her.
"okay am pass that one. I see today youin one of your moods" he said moving away from her.
"Good morning everyone. Firstly I would like to apologize for for the short notice meeting. Unfortunately it has came to one of my last days to be in this hospital since y'all know I have been here for decades more than all of you have been here. Some of you I had teached myself and some of you came to this hospital to follow on my steps. It makes me said to say that This week will be my last week working at this hospital or being your Chief. I have decided to retire. " The crowd gasped , some whispering to each other.
"The new Chief is someone close to me and someone I have also groomed I hope you guys will treat him like you have treated me as your friend, mentor and family. Doctors help me welcome your new Chief of surgery Doctor Benjamin Warren" he announced clapping hands and the crowd of workers followed, clapping ND cheering.
The world seem to pause on Miranda's side. She felt like a wave of hit just hit her face and all the blood moved away from her face. She looked paled, eyes widened and mouth left hanging open. She couldn't believe what she was seeing or should she say who she was seeing. After all these years he's here looking all good and breathtaking. Flashing that expensive handsome smile to everyone greeting him and welcoming him. The same smile that used to make her wet in some places. Is it still doing the same? While lost in her thoughts she didn't even hear her friend saying she told her he's hot they should go introduce themselves.
"I know he looks good but you don't have to freeze Miranda come on. Miranda? Bailey? Dr MIRANDA BAILEY" Callie shouted pulling everyone's attention to them. Even Ben turned to look at them and he meet the eyes he hasn't seen in years. To say he was excited would be a lie cos he never thought he would see her again after all that has happened between them 9 years ago. Every memory came rushing in his mind and he felt himself want to go there hug her and kiss her but also wanting to curse and yell at her. He turned to look at the nurses that were talking to him flirting around not glancing back at Miranda for the second time.
"I don't know why you shouting am just here near you why you like drawing attention to us Torres??" Miranda asked coming back from her trance. Stealing glances at Dr Warren across the room.
"Nothing... there's nothing... I mean why would there be something?? I don't know him , he surely doesn't know me" Miranda rambled lying through her teeth. They do know each other very well.
"Well if there's nothing then why you talking so fast like you nervous??"
"Am not nervous or anything Callie I just remembered something I need to go" she lied again.
"Well then act cool Arizona is coming this way with Mr Hot Chief" Callie said fixing herself and her friend to look like they weren't talking about him.
"Guys this is Dr Warren am sure you know him our new Chief. Did you guys know he's Webber's nephew??" Arizona asked still amazed by the news.
"No we didn't." They both said.
"Well it's something I don't go around telling the world." He told looking straight at Miranda then Callie.
"That's fantastic news I guess. Right Bailey?? Let me not be rude am Dr Torres Ortho God Incase you have heard"
"Trust me I have Arizona didn't leave that out at all when she mentioned who she was married to. Nice to meet you in person at last." They shook hands smiling.
Miranda felt like her whole body was being thrown in some kind of volcano about to erapt. Hearing this man's voice so close after all these years made her want to.... there are actually no words to explain what she felt like doing after hearing his voice. So she just decided to storm off and leave them there rushing to the bathroom cos her stomach started turning threatening blust out all the food she had this morning. Callie looked at her confused and excused herself from her conversation with the new Chief following her friend to the bathroom.
