The wedding

The big day was finally here. I was about to become Mrs Hayley Kane. Goodbye miss Hayley Jones. We'd stayed in a hotel in Hertford the night before and had it booked for the night of the wedding so we didn't have to rush around on the day, and Liam stayed with mum for the night. She'd bring him to the wedding in the morning, and look after him so I could focus on my wedding day. When we checked into the hotel, we got a few excited glances from local spurs fans, so after Harry was done taking pictures and signing autographs we hid away in the hotel room.
"I can't believe it, Harry! We're actually getting married tomorrow!" I exclaimed as I jumped onto the bed and crossed my legs, watching him put his suit in the wardrobe next to my dress. He hadn't seen the dress yet, and I desperately wanted to show him but I knew it was tradition for the groom to not see the dress until the day.
"I know! It's crazy. Good crazy." He said, and I smiled as he kissed my cheek and sat next to me on the bed. "But let's sort out dinner first. I'm starving!" He said, and I laughed. We ordered room service and ate dinner, before getting an early night.

When we woke up at 7am, I was overwhelmed with excitement. I showered and grabbed my dress bag, before leaving Harry and the hotel room to get to the venue, where I would get ready. Mum was already there with Liam when I arrived, along with my man of honour, Connor, and bridesmaids Sophie and my cousin Jess. They got their hair and makeup done while I got Liam ready, then they took over Liam duties and I had my hair and makeup done. I chose to get my caramel coloured hair put up in an elegant bun, and kept the makeup natural so you could see the faint trace of freckles on my cheek. Then, mum helped me into the dress and stood behind me as I looked in the mirror at myself, tears in her eyes.
"You look beautiful, Hayley." She said between sniffles, and I turned around to hug her. I saw Connor and Sophie walk over, then Jess joined us with Liam, and we all stood together, smiling at each other.
"He's a lucky man, Hayley." Connor said, and I nodded.
"He really is." I muttered. Then we heard guests arriving and I grinned. "I can't believe I'm getting married..." I said.

After all the guests arrived, and Harry was ready for me, we finally got the wedding underway. Mum took my hand and lead me down the aisle between the blossom trees, everyone stood up at the sides, eyes on me. I saw Harry at the end, standing with his back to me, Dele at his side. We reached the end of the aisle and mum handed me to Harry, who wiped a tear from his eye.
"You look amazing, Hayley." He said, and I smiled.
"So do you." I said. The celebrant then made us do our vows, which we kept traditional, before pronouncing us husband and wife. We kissed, before walking back down the aisle together. We then had pictures taken in the pagoda, exactly where we had planned when we walked around the venue for the first time. After the pictures, we all headed into the greenhouse-like room, which had tables laid out on one side and the dance floor on the other. Each table had a specific name from places me and Harry had visited or lived at, and the main table where Harry and I sat was called 'Chingford' as that was where we grew up and started dating. Not the most elegant, but I loved it. We all sat down and ate, before Dele stood up to give the best Man's speech. Harry held my hand in his as Dele tapped his glass with a fork to get everyone's attention.
"I've known Harry since my first day at spurs. And since I've known Harry, I've known Hayley. And it's always been Harry and Hayley. Not just Harry or just Hayley. They're prefect for each other. If only everyone could be as happy together as they are. So I can't say much more than Harry, you've scored a hat-trick there, and Hayley you've gotten yourself the best man I've ever known. So how about we all say congratulations to Mr and Mrs Perfect?" He monologued, and Harry and I laughed as the guests all clapped and cheered for us. Then, unexpectedly, mum stood up.
"I feel that I need to give a speech too, as I know the father is supposed to give the speech, but Hayley's dad left when she was a baby, so... anyway I'm getting sidetracked. I'm so glad Hayley found Harry, as even when we had to move to Peterborough, all she did was think about him. I can tell you all right now that they're both intoxicated by each other, but then you can probably all see that anyway." Mum said, and the guests laughed as I blushed a deep crimson, almost matching the lipstick I was wearing. Then she sniffed, and I realised she was crying. I held her hand with my free one, and she smiled.
"Well, I just want to say thank you to Harry. He's really the most perfect person I could think of for Hayley, and I... it's so good seeing her happy, and they've got the most perfect son, and... just thank you. So a toast to the new Mr and Mrs Kane." Mum said, before wiping the tears from her eyes. She sat down and looked at me with a wary smile, which set me off and I was in tears too. Harry wrapped his arm around my shoulders and held me close for a while, until the guests all finished eating and we evacuated to the dance floor. First dance time. Harry and I had chosen 'chasing cars' by snow patrol for our first dance song, as it was the song we kissed to at prom all those years ago. Yet it still felt like yesterday. So as we circled around the dance floor elegantly, Harry and I spoke lightly.
"Just like prom." He said, and I smiled.
"Yeah, but it's our wedding. Much better than prom." I replied, and he laughed. He then spun me before taking me back in his arms, holding me close.
"I love you, Hayley Kane." He said, and I grinned.
"Now doesn't that sound good?" I said, and he laughed.
"You're supposed to say it back, Hayley." He said, and I laughed.
"I know, I know. I love you, Harry Kane." I replied. It really was perfect, and I was ready to spend the rest of my life with him.
Well, here's to our future, our perfect little future together. Mr and Mrs Kane.
