After grabbing the Coraline movie disk I had in my bag, Sam and I set ourselves up on the couch. I brought my blanket over because the AC kicked in. He turned the movie on and we both got comfy on the couch. We sat next to each other with a bit of space between us.

Having already watched Coraline multiple times I knew what to expect, but the silly comments Sam made after something interesting happened made the movie a lot better.

"No! Don't get the button eyes!" he yelled at the tv and I stifled a few laughs. His passion while watching the movie made it hard for me to focus on the actual film. Most of my attention was on him, waiting for his next reaction. When I knew a crazy scene was coming I would look over at him and wait to see his expression.

When the movie was close to ending I realized I had barely been watching it. The realization brought a light pink color to my cheeks, my face felt warm. Being confused by the warmth in my face, I tried to focus on the rest of the movie.

Vincent occasionally came out of his room to see what we were watching, but some of the characters creeped him out so he stopped coming to watch.

The movie ended and Sam started going on about his different theories on what will happen to 'The Other Mothers' metal hand. I smiled softly as I listened intently to every word he said. His passion for movies made me definitely want to have more movie nights. We cleaned up our mess from eating and I put the movie disc away.

"Hmm what should we do now?" He asked as he stretched his arms above his head. "Well since we ate, why don't we wash our faces and do a face mask?" I suggested. "Wait nevermind that dumb, plus I didn't brink any mas-" before I could complete my sentence Sam turned and ran down the hall towards what I assumed his mothers room. I heard the faint sounds of their conversation before he came sprinting back moments later.

"Jeez Usain Bolt calm down." I joked. He had something in his hand that he probably got from his mom. "Are these good?" He asked as he handed them to me. I looked down to see two packs of a green clay looking mask. I skimmed what it was supposed to do for your skin before giving him a nod. "Yea these would be great actually but where did you get these? If they are your moms I feel bad using them..." I frowned, offering them back to him.

"Nah she said it's cool, plus I don't think she ever uses facemasks. They were a gift from Caroline or something." he assured with a light shrug. I thought it over for a moment and decided why the hell not. If she said it was fine then it should be okay.

Sam led me to the bathroom in their house and he rummaged through a few bins. Eventually he pulled out a couple rubber bands and headbands. "Want one?" He asked as we placed them down on the counter in front of us. I ended up taking my hair out of the half up ponytail and just shoved all of it into one low ponytail. Using a headband he offered, all of my hair and baby hairs were out of the way.

Sam had put his blond spiked hair into a high ponytail, getting a gasp from me. "Holy shit your hair looks so good like that!" I laughed as his face got red, he turned and put his headband on as well.

"Okay so basically you open this side and then squeeze out the product." I explained for the fifth time, Sam was struggling on how to open and apply it. I just ended up taking the packet from him.

"Hm sit on the toilet for me." I instructed and he did just that, Sam sat on the toilet lid. "Since you don't know how to open it or apply it, I'll do it for you. How do you not know how though- it's so simple." I sighed as I stepped closer. He sat with his legs spread, so I just stood between them.

"Get a timer on your phone ready for 10 minutes." I added some of the green clay paste onto my hand. Using my index and middle finger, I began spreading the clay on his cheeks. He kept giggling at the sensation and I would scold him for moving too much. After putting the clay on his cheeks, I then did his nose. While doing this I was about the closest I had been to Sam's face. I got a more in depth look of all his features, I was able to feel the bone structure in his face as I spread the face mask.

"Sorry that took a minute, I just wanted to make sure I got every spot." I said, mainly as an excuse. Sam gave me a thumbs up instead of a smile because I told him to not crack the face mask. "You can get up now, I'll just put mine on now." I explained before going to grab my face mask packet. As I reached for it Sam's hand grabbed it first. "Hm?" I looked at him with a quirked brow.

"I think I know how to do it now." He said with a light smile, not enough to crack the drying clay mask. "Oh... alrighty then I suppose." I was about to sit on the toilet seat lid, but then I realized there was no need. I opened the pack for him and closed my eyes, not fully trusting his ability to avoid getting it in my eyes.

For a few moments there was nothing but silence and I was confused why he didn't start. As I was about to say something I felt the cool touch of the clay mask. He began covering my face with the face mask and I couldn't help but get this odd feeling in my stomach. I was probably reading into things way too much, but this exchange felt strangely intimate. Immediately I realized my thoughts started getting weird and my face started to heat up from embarrassment. Luckily, he was just about done applying the green substance to my face so nobody could see my bright red face.

"Did I do a good job?" He asked, sounding a bit afraid I wouldn't be happy with what he did. I opened my eyes and blinked a few times before looking into the mirror. Overall my face had decent coverage, he went light in the area around my lips, maybe afraid I might ingest it. "Not too bad for a beginner, don't worry you'll get better over time." I gave him a pat on the shoulder and I realized the mask had started to harden. "Wait! Quick, start the timer." I spoke with urgency, even though it wasn't actually that big a deal.

Sam fumbled with his phone for a second before he started the countdown. "So do we just wait?" he asked, it was a bit hard to understand since his mask was starting to tighten a bit. "Mhm, we can just chill in here until it's done if you want, we should grab some rags though. For when we take it off." I added, feeling my mask tighten slightly.

While Sam went off to go find some clean hand towels, I started to text Mae. Basically just explaining what we did. I tried to explain the feeling in my stomach that I got, but quickly deleted the messages before sending it. She texted back, asking for pics and the carnival cut out pics from the festival. I reluctantly agreed, although some part of me did want at least one pic from this night to look back on.

When Sam came back the timer still had a couple more minutes. "Hey sorry if this is a weird request, but could we maybe take a picture together? I'm trying to do this thing where I take pictures during fun times, so that if I get sad later on I can look back at better times." I was basically speaking out of my ass, I made that up on the spot so I would sound less weird for asking for a picture.

Surprisingly, Sam didn't have a problem with it at all. In fact, "Really? I was actually wanting to take pictures of us together too. I like having pictures with all my friends." His words were definitely forced, the mask seemed to really make it hard for him. "Yay! Okay so how should we pose?" I asked, but instead of answering with words due to his mask, he simply pulled out his phone and leaned down a bit. Sam motioned, putting his arm over my shoulder and I nodded, so he did. With his arm over my shoulder I put my arm around his back, feeling a bit awkward since I rarely got this close to people.

Without realizing, he pulled me in a bit closer causing my cheeks to heat up again. Saved by the green mask of course. For the picture I put up the rock n' roll symbol with my free hand and he snapped a photo. We both had a good laugh at how strange our faces looked in the masks.

"I can text you the photo?" He suggested, getting a nod reply from me. I took his phone to put my number in, it felt odd that it took us this long to get each other's numbers. I guess if you live in a small town there isn't much need to text when your friends live so close.

Once we exchanged numbers, he sent me the photo we just took and the one of me making a silly face in the cut out at the egg festival. I sighed at how weird I looked in the photo, but saved them both nonetheless. I texted them to Mae before putting my phone on mute.

The timer went off not long after, so I demonstrated how to take it off to Sam. It took him a few tries and somehow he got it in his hair, but he got it eventually. "Does your skin feel healthier?" I asked as I patted the sides of my face while I looked in the mirror. "Uhhh I mean it feels nice and cold. What's the word for it...? Hydrated! My skin feels hydrated." He nodded happily to himself as he did one final check to make sure he rinsed it all off.

"What shall we do now?" I asked while cleaning up the now empty mask packets, throwing them in the bin beside the counter. "I don't know if you're into video games, but I just got this new-" before he could even finish explaining, my eyes lit up. "Well games it is!" he cheered after seeing my reaction. We went back to his room and Sam carried a spare dining chair in with him.

I made my way over to the computer and pushed the chair that was already there a bit to the side so both of us could fit. He placed the other chair next to it before sitting down. I grabbed my blanket first before copying him, his room always felt a bit chilly. Getting wrapped into the blanket, I took a seat on the other chair beside him.

"So what game are we gonna play?" I asked with a child-like gleam to my eyes. Video Games have always had a close place to my heart. It was rare that I got to play them with people and I no longer had my gaming console. This opportunity meant a lot to me even if it was just a small gesture.

He synced two controllers with his computer before pulling up a game I had never heard of. It was a game based around a team of four people that had to survive the zombie apocalypse. Since there were only two of us, our other teammates were bots and we kept making fun of the funny things they did.

"AHHH! THE TONGUE GUY GRABBED ME!!" I screamed before realizing his family was probably asleep by now. "Shit- sorry." I quickly apologized as I continued to struggle in the game. We played a few missions and I started to get the hang of it. After a while he decided that a horror game probably wasn't the best idea this late, we both yelled out randomly when a zombie started to get us.

Sam put on a different game that I recognized. We started out by breaking down a few trees, slowly progressing and getting more items. The later into the night we played the more tired I got. Previously I had no intention of sleeping over, but the two of us were having so much fun that I forgot to look at the time.

"Get back in your cage dumb sheep." I mumbled as my eyelids started getting heavier. Little did I know, it was around 1am and we had been hanging out for hours. "Dumb sheep..." My eyes shut fully for good, my body leaned into Sam slightly. He then realized I had fallen asleep, taking the controller out of my hands and shutting everything off. He tried to figure out a way to move me to somewhere more comfortable, eventually he just picked me up bridal style. Sam was hoping I didn't wake up because that would be awkward for the both of us.

Being a gentleman like he was, he carried my sleeping body over to his bed, adjusting the blanket I had wrapped around myself previously. Once it looked like I was comfortable he got up and left the room, turning the light off but leaving the door open. He was tired himself, finding himself falling asleep on the couch in the living room.

That night I had a very confusing dream. I didn't necessarily see images like I did normally, but I just felt these waves of conflicting emotions.
