"That was......" Amelia panted before Karai interrupted

"Amazing!!! Oh my goodness. It's was heart bursting and super exciting"

"No it was not. We almost got caught. I mean the prince was literally standing right in front of us" Amelia countered

Karai scoffed, "But we didn't get caught. Besides, the prince was clueless. I'm pretty sure he forgot he was chasing after the 'thief' once he looked at you"

Amelia brows creased in confusion
"What is that supposed to mean?"

"It means, my dear simple minded friend, that you two are in love." Karai said leaning on Amelia's shoulder
"And before you deny it, I would like to remind you that I have eyes. I saw the way you look at each other"

"Okay that is just nauseating. Like no and no. I feel nothing towards the prince. He's like all rich and... rich and I'm all....."

Karai cocked a brow, "All what?"

"Well all me"

"Yeah right". Karai chuckled

Amelia drew in a deep breath as they arrived home.
"We are not gonna talk about this. I feel nothing for Andrew. Absolutely nothing."

Karai threw up her hands in mock surrender
"Whatever you say mom"

Back at the palace, Andrew is going through some files on his desk paying no attention to a pacing and nagging Diego in his room. He had received more than enough nags from his father and his mother about going in hot pursuit of the thief.

'Well excuse me for trying to be a good future king'

Now he's receiving an earful of complaints from Diego but at least one good thing came out of all these. He met a certain interesting lady he had managed to keep out of his mind and he blew it. His mind wandered back to Amelia.
Her beautiful hazel eyes, her black wavy hair, her confidence and self esteem, her

"You know, you could at least pretend to be listening to me".

Diego's voice rang in his head pulling him out of his thoughts. He looked up and saw Diego leaning on the table. His hands on it and his eyes blazing with fury. Andrew sighed and dropped his pen and looked up at him

"I'm sorry" He said softly offering a weak smile

"Just don't jump into danger next time else I'll follow you" Diego threatened

Andrew let out a hearty laugh at Diego's threat. They both knew that Diego loves himself too much to jump head first into danger. Diego pouted at first but joined in later on

After laughing, they both sighed in content. Diego sat on the chair opposite him and looked at him

"You never told me what happened after you chased after that scoundrel"

Andrew chuckled, "You sound like my dad"

Diego nodded in agreement, "I do sound like him don't I? So......"

Andrew groaned, "Do I have to?"

"What choice do you have?"

"I could always walk away"

Diego pouted at that, "Do that and consider our friendship over"

"I'm just kidding bro. Let's see where do I start from...."

Andrew narrated the story of how he initially chased after the thief but ended up helping Amelia and Karai not leaving out a single detail. By the time he was done, Diego stared at him with eyes wide open and mouth ajar.

"So lemme get one thing straight.... You chased after a thief but ended up falling in love"

"How was that all you got from what I said? Besides, I never said I fell in love"

Diego shrugged, "Yeah right. With your vivid description of this Amelia girl I definitely believe you didn't fall in love while being engaged to Zandra" His words dripping with sarcasm.

"And somehow you've managed to ruin this conversation by saying her name" Andrew said leaning back on his chair

"I don't understand. Isn't she your fiancee?" Diego said feigning surprise

"Diego you and I both know why she is my fiancee. Don't add to my sorrows bro"

Diego gasped at this, "Your sorrows? Heck dude, I'm the one who has to put up with her ruining all our plans and trying my best not to barf while the two of you do your love play. It's sickening."
Diego faked gagged.

"I'm the one trying not to barf when I pretend to love her"

"Wasn't she your girlfriend?" Diego asked cocking a brow

"Yeah well, I was trying the Diego's way. Use and dump". Andrew shrugged carelessly

Diego's eyes twinkled in excitement and his face lit up
"Seriously?"

"No dude. I respect human feelings. I just don't know why I dated Sandra"

Diego frowned, "You mean Zandra?"

"Just because we hate her doesn't mean I'm gonna insult her"

"So if you were given the opportunity to explain to your parents why you don't want to marry 'Sandra' what would you say?"

"She's a pest, a self absorbed wrench, a despicable lady, a..........." Andrew stopped. Looking at Diego with a frown realizing what he had made him do.

Diego had a victorious grin on his face, "Respect for human feelings indeed"

Andrew opened his mouth to object but a knock prevented him from doing so

"I bet it's Zandra" Diego whispered

"Come in" Andrew ordered and a guard walked in

"Sorry to interrupt your highness, but your father has a conference meeting with the council members and he needs you to be there"

Andrew nodded, "Alright I'll be there"

"I'll take my leave now"

Diego leaned back on his seat and groaned, "More work. When will I  ever get you all to myself?"

Andrew chuckled, "You're beginning to sound possessive"

"I am possessive." Diego countered

"Well I'll try to get out of the meeting as soon as possible."

"Last time I heard that, I didn't see you till the next day"

Andrew laughed and stood up,
"Dude, you seriously need a girlfriend."

"And have someone trailing on after me like Zandra? No, thank you."

"I think I can get you someone nice. Karai doesn't seem bad"

Diego scoffed, "I think I'll stick to being alone than have you hook me up with someone. Last time I checked, you are horrible when it comes to making a good relationship decision."

"Haha very funny" Andrew drawled
"I make one mistake and suddenly I don't hear the end of it. You don't see me reminding you that you once had a crush on Olivia."

"That was one time. One time! I was young and stupid" Diego stuttered

"Yeah right. Young and stupid." Andrew scoffed, "But seriously dude, Karai is a nice girl. The only problem will be getting her to like you."

"Oh please! I'm emperor Diego. Everyone loves me, even at the mention of my name"

"Everyone except Sandra" Andrew grinned

Diego got up and grabbed Andrew's robe and threw it at him.
"Alright dude, I think it's time you go for that meeting."

Andrew quirked his brow, "Won't you miss me?"

"On second thought, I won't even need you. You know what, just go..."

Andrew chuckled, "You do know you're chasing me out of my room right?"

"What is yours...... is mine. Now get out of here."

Andrew reached for the door and chuckled, "Bye dude"
Andrew left and Diego sighed

"Kids these days. Now........ What to do?"
