𝐀𝐋𝐋 π…πˆπ•π„ 𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍𝐒 πŒπ„π“ 𝐔𝐏 in the boys' dorm room, each doing their own thing as they waited for someone to start the inevitable topic: Stealing the wand. Typically, Mal was the one to create this sort of conversation, making sure to try her best to impress Chernabog and her mother, but she hadn't said a single thing. Instead, she's been pacing the room nibbling on her finger from time to time as she mumbled to herself. Y/N would let out a sigh from time to time as she looked up at Mal from her books, feeling annoyed by the girl's habits as she was trying to concentrate on more important things.

"Die, suckers!" Carlos yelled at the TV screen located in their dorm. He's been standing in front of it for about four hours in counting now. They've been in the dorm for about five now and it barely took him thirty minutes to set up the console, remotes and game.

Y/N looked over at Carlos as she heard him yell. She watched him dodge attacks from the virtual enemies. A small smile appeared before she turned her attention back to the books that Genie had given her. Her eyes scanned each page with precision, learning about the magic that was used to build Auradon and the barrier. It just never seemed to end. Every page she turned was more useless information she didn't need.

There was nothing about her cuffs or the language engraved onto them. An irritated groan escaped her lips as she slammed the book shut. She got up from the table she was sitting at before making her way toward Jay's bed. Flopping down on it, her stomach facing up, she covered her eyes with her forearm, sighing. Her mind kept flashing back to her time spent with Nakoa. Nothing special had happened, of course, but she couldn't figure him out. He seemed quiet and reserved, but when it came to the Guardian or anything about him, Nakoa would always have something to say about him, positive or not.

Carlos turned away from the screen to face Jay. "Jay." Carlos grinned as he held out the controls. "Come check this thing out. Man, it's awesome."

Jay grabbed the stick-like controllers before stepping onto the platform right in front of the TV where Carlos was standing previously. The game started and Jay started dodging the enemies on screen. He was bending over backwards and jumping as sound effects left his mouth with every movement.

Mal stopped her pacing as her eyes went over to Y/N and scanned the rest of the room, watching what all her friends were doing. She licked her lips before letting out a sigh. "Guys!" She yelled gaining everyone's attention. Y/N peaked from under her arm, looking at Mal but not necessarily giving Mal her full attention. "Do I have to remind you what we're all here for?"

"Fairy Godmother," Jay responded, keeping his attention on the screen. "Blah, blah, blah." He dodged a virtual attack. "Magic wand. Blah, blah, blah."

"And killing the Guardian," Y/N added, her face still covered as she pointed over at Jay.

Slamming her hand against the wooden table in anger, Y/N glared at the girl laying on the bed. "This is our one chance," she yelled, causing Y/N to remove her arm from her face and look at Mal. "To prove ourselves to our parents!" The rest of the group looked over at Mal, their smiles faltering as they realized that she was being serious about the situation. "To prove that we are evil and vicious and ruthless and cruel," she listed off, keeping an eye on the group around her, making sure that they were paying attention to what she was saying. "Yeah?" Mal asked, eyeing everyone. The teens nodded their heads in agreement, realizing that they should be taking this matter seriously.

Y/N sat up in the bed, her head hung low as she remembered her father's face when she left. She remembered the cold look in his eyes and the tone of his voice as he spoke to her. She was scared. Scared for her safety and the people around her, especially Jay. She wasn't about to risk it. She needed to complete her father's mission.

Jay noticed Y/N's change in demeanour. He stared at her for a few seconds before, reluctantly, putting the controls down and making his way toward her. He offered her an awkward smile before slowly sitting next to Y/N on the bed. He was on the left side while Y/N was on the right. She made sure to move over slightly, making room for the boy. Of course, she was confused about the thief's actions, but, then again, she wasn't complaining; she enjoyed his company.

Mal sat at the table, causing Carlos and Evie to follow her lead. "Evie, mirror me."

Doing as she was told, Evie pulled out her mother's Magic Mirror. "Mirror, mirror on the"β€”she paused thinking about her wordingβ€”"in my hand. Where is Fairy Godmother's wand." Her eyes looked side to side as she, once again, tried coming up with the best wording to find the wand. "Stand?"

"There it is!" Mal exclaimed as an image of Fairy Godmother's wand appeared on the pocket mirror.

Y/N and Jay bother got up from the bed and joined the rest of their crew. Y/N looked over Evie's shoulder, examining the image. "Zoom out," she commanded as she pointed at the mirror.

Bringing the mirror up to her lips, Evie whispered. "Magic Mirror, not so close." The mirror zoomed out, showing an image of the Earth. "Closer." It zoomed in, giving them an aerial view. "Closer." It zoomed in. Evie rolled her eyes as she stared at the mirror annoyed. "Closer."

Carlos started to grow impatient as he waited for the location of the wand to be revealed. "Can I go back to my game?" He asked as he pointed towards the TV with his thumb. "I'm on level three." A grin appeared on his face as he waited for one of them to respond to his question.

"Stop!" Jay yelled as he placed his hand on Y/N's shoulder and leaned in towards the mirror. Carlos stopped his movement and looked towards the object, curious to see what had caught the taller boy's attention.

Y/N let out a scoff as a small smile appeared on her face. "Auradon's museum." She shook her head slightly as her thoughts returned to the conversation she had with Nakoa when they first met. "Where else would they put it."

"Not the point," Mal butted in, causing Y/N to glare at her slightly. She looked back in the mirror. "Do we know where that is?"

Carlo opened a laptopβ€”stolen by Jayβ€”and quickly typed in what they were looking for. Pressing the enter key, he read the distance between them and the museum before turning it around. A picture of the aerial view of Auradon appeared and a thin line traced the distance between the dorm and the museum. "Two point three miles from here."

Nodding her head, Y/N made her way toward the boys' door and slowly opened it, making sure not to make any loud sounds. She peaked her head out of the doorframe and scanned the hallway, watching for any stray students that might be walking around past curfew, but then again, this was Auradon. So, there weren't going to be any rule breakers here until the next island was over. Once confirming that the hallway was clear, Y/N slowly crept out of the room, making sure to keep an ear out for any noises that didn't come from her or anyone in the group.

"Let's go." Y/N motioned towards the group to follow her before quickly escaping the exit of the dorms.

...

Stars painted the night sky as the teens ran through the campus. The only light that was provided to them was the full moon that shines brightly in the cloudless sky. The leaves would rustle against one as a soft breeze blew by them. Crickets and other nightly animals filled in the silence that would appear once the wind calmed down for a short second. Street decorated the edge of walkways and roads, providing passengers with little light. The atmosphere around the teens felt peaceful and the smell around them only provided a smell of calmness and tranquillity, something that none of them were used to.

"We almost there yet?" Carlos asked as Mal and Evie paused in front of the group, causing everyone else to stop.

Mal looked over Evie's shoulder. "Check your mirror."

Y/N placed her hands on her hip as she stood up straight. She breathed in through her nose and out her mouth, trying to regulate her breathing. Looking around her surroundings, a small smile appeared on her face as a sense of familiarity filled her soul. Darkness has always brought comfort to her, no matter what the situation was. She never really understood why, but it's been that way for as long as she could remember.

She always found this ironic about her. Chernabog was the embodiment of darkness and she has always been afraid of him. However, the older she got, the more the fear started fading and simply become another monster in the closet.

Looking up at the sky, she took another deep breath before looking in front of her. She shook off her wrists, feeling her bracelet hit against her wrists. Hades, she hated this. She couldn't decide which was worse: the feeling of her new "gift" from his Royal Furryness or the chains in the dungeon her father would make her train in while chained to the wall, denying her access to leave the room.

Evie and Mal began running again once they knew how close they were to the museum. The trio left behind eventually noticed the two girls gone before quickly running after them. In time, they caught up to Mal and Evie who were only a few feet away from the entrance of the museum. Quickly scaling up the short flight of steps that led towards the double doors to the museum, they all peeked inside through the glass doors with smiles all on their faces. Y/N's eyes widened as they landed on a security guard sitting on a spinning chair behind a long table with at least a dozen computers on it. Each screen showed live footage of different exhibits all over the museum.

"Security cameras," she mumbled. "This should be fun."

The guard slowly turned his chair towards the museum entrance, not paying any attention to his surroundings. A loud squeaking noise echoed through the large entrance, causing the teens to be alerted of the guard's moves. A gasp left Mal's lips as they all quickly tossed to the sides of the doors, making sure to stay clear of the giant windows and the guard's view. After hearing the chair squeak again, they determined that it was safe to return to their previous spots.

Y/N looked around the room, trying to see if they could use anything to distract the guard. Eventually, she gave fell onto an antique spinning wheel resting in the middle of the room. A small smile appeared on her face as she read the sign that was placed in front of the spinning wheel to visitors. Tapping Mal's shoulder, she pointed towards it.

Jay snorted a laugh. "That's your mother's spinning wheel?"

Carlos laughed alongside Jay. "Yeah, it's kinda dorky."

"It's magic." Mal grimaced as she defended her mother's honour. "It doesn't have to look scary."

Rolling her eyes, Mal pulled out her mother's spellbook and flipped it open to the page she needed. Y/N looked over to see what the purple-haired was doing before quickly blinking as she felt her eyes turn yellow. She quickly looked away from the book and back to the guard, ignoring what had just happened.

"Magic spindle, do no linger," Mal cited as she looked between the words in her spellbook and the guard. "Make my victim prick a finger."

All teens stood in front of the door, staring down the security guard as they waited for something to happen but nothing did. The guard sat still in his chair, turning from left to right as he continued observing the screen in front of him.

Jay tilted his head to the side slightly. "Impressive," he said sarcastically.

"I got chills," Carlos added as they both burst into a fit of laughter.

Y/N groaned as she turned her back to the door and rested her head against it. They didn't have time for this bickering.

Mal rolled her eyes. "Okay, you know what?" She started flipping through the pages once more before pausing on one. Placing her finger on the first line, she started citing what was written down. "Prick the finger, prick it deep. Send my enemy off to sleep." She looked back up at the guard as she waited for something to happen.

A few seconds went by before the guard suddenly raised from his seat and started to wander towards Malefican's spinning wheel, mindlessly. He raised his finger towards the spindle of the magical object before pricking it. Sparks appeared from it as his skin made contact with the metal.

"Oh!" He cried out in shock as he looked down at his finger, making sure it wasn't bleeding. He yawned as he stretched his arms out before laying down on the podium and falling into a deep sleep.

Mal smirked as she closed her book. "Not so dorky now, huh?" She asked as she looked between Carlos and Jay with baffled expressions on their faces.

Mal reached towards the handle of the door and tugged on it once. A rattling noise echoed through the area as Mal continued pulling on the door. The door continuously bagged against the lock and door frame as Mal continued to shake it. Y/N looked between Mal and the door as she watched the purple-haired girl suffer. The door was locked. You could see and hear it. Y/N didn't quite understand why Mal continued trying to open it.

A cocky smirk appeared on Jay's face. "Stand back." He started to walk away from the door, making the teens look at him in confusion.

Opening her spellbook once again, Mal quickly flipped through the pages until she found the right one. She taped the beginning of the spell with her finger. "Make it easy, make it quick. Open up without a kick." She shut the spellbook as a cocky grin appeared on her face.

A gust of wind rushed past the teens as the double doors slammed open in front of them. Jay let out a scream as he delivered a flying kick towards the doors, but was a second late. He landed hard on the floor before grunting in pain as he brought up his hand to his head while sitting up. Laughter echoed through the hall. Mal and Evie looked down at Jay as they walked past him.

"You coming?" Y/N asked with a giggle as she held out his hand to him, in an attempt to help him up.

Placing his hands underneath him, Jay grunted as he lifted himself from the ground. "I'm good." He dusted himself before offering Y/N a smirk.

Rolling her eyes, she walked away.

"Girls," Carlos said, standing next to Jay with his arms crossed over his chest.

"You can say that again."

The corridors seemed to become longer and longer as the teens continued their endless goose chase to find the wand. It seemed almost as if Evie was running around in circles with her nose in her mirror as she ran up the fifth flight of stairs. Paintings of different stories decorated the walls and different-sized statuses littered the floors. They were all posing gracefully on their respected podiums, staring passers in the eyes as they walked by; it was creepy, almost.

The tiles on the floor were spotless without a single spec of dirt in sight. The teens' footsteps echoed through the stairwell as they quickly climbed up another flight, each one of them starting to feel exhaustion creep up on them. The only light that was being provided to them was the moon from the multiple windows that lightened up the area and made it seem more open.

"Areβ€”" Carlos sucked in a deep breath of air as he tried allowing his lungs to catch a short break "β€”Are we almost there?"

Evie shrugged her shoulders as she looked down at her mirror again. "Almost."

Seconds turned into minutes. Their running turned into a light jog as they began to realize that the wand was farther away than they originally thought. As they ran past a gallery, Y/N suddenly came to a stop as she gazed off toward the contents inside. Horror filled her face as she began walking towards the statues inside. As Y/N continued walking inside, her eyes landed on a large statue standing proudly in the middle of the room.

She felt someone brush up against her arm, causing her to jump slightly and look to her right. She noticed Evie standing next to her, a fearful expression on her face.

"Mommy?" Evie asked as she looked at the Evil Queen statue. Her mother was holding an apple in her hand as a large mirror was behind her, representing her Enchanted Mirror, a gift from Chernabog.

A small gasp left Y/N's lips as she quickly looked around the room, her eyes landing on every life-like statue. All of their parents were there: Jafar, Cruella, the Evil Queen, Maleficent, and even Chernabog. They were all holding their signature weapon and standing in an evil-like pose, reminding all those who looked here about all the misery and wickedness they brought to the land.

Y/N felt the hair on the back of her neck and her arms rise as her skin was suddenly covered in goosebumps. Her father's statue was standing in the middle of the room, his eyes glowing yellow. He was in his devil form with a fire in front of him and all his minions were dancing around it. Both of his hands were held up in the air while a sinister smile was plastered onto his face. Looking closer at the state, one would notice the small details that the artist decided to put. Demons, evil spirits and souls were being thrown into the fire by Chernabog or dragged into it by the burning flames that would reach out to them and grab them before dragging them down to Hell.

Everything around her seemed to have frozen. She couldn't hear any outside noise. All she could hear was her father's words.

Consequences will be severe if I do not have that wand and the Guardian's head in my hands in the next seven days.

Fail this mission and the thief will know the true meaning of pain.

Hades, she hated this feeling, feeling weak and powerless. Of course, she was used to it whenever she faced her father. However, this one time, she wished she didn't have to. The dreadful feeling made it feel almost as if she were suffocating.

She started fidgeting with the bracelets that covered her skin. Her breathing became quick and heavy as she tried focusing her attention on somethingβ€”anythingβ€”in the room.

"Well, the wand's not here." Jay looked around the room, trying to get everyone to leave the discomfort of it. "Let's bounce." He clapped his hand as he started backing out of the room, but no one was moving, they all kept staring at the statues of their parents. "Let's go." This time, Evie and Carlos followed Jay out of the room, leaving Y/N and Mal alone.

Y/N slowly walked toward her father's statue. A frown was plastered onto her face as she slowly shook her head.

Immense amount of power. Freedom to roam wherever you please.

"I hate you," Y/N spat, her voice dripping with venom.

Mal stepped towards her mother's statue, a small frown plastered onto her face. "Look at you, look at me. I don't know who to be, Mother," Mal sang as she shrugged her arms slightly. "Is it wrong? Is it right? Be a thief in the night, Mother. Tell me what to do."

Evie jogged back to where the girls were, a small smile on her face in her face once she realized that she found them. "Guys, come one."

She jogged away from them but paused when she noticed Jay walking towards the room. His expression was blank and his body movements appeared to be robot-likeβ€”as if he was programmed to move that way.

He looked like he was on a mission.

As he walked into the gallery, he grabbed Y/N's hand before dragging her along with him. She didn't protest or make any movements to try to stop him; she just followed him as her eyes stayed
