Fred was waiting at the doors of the University block – the same doors (Y/N) disappeared through this morning – tapping his foot nervously; he really hoped she had a good day and not as disastrous as the scenarios he'd imagined. Merlin, he felt like such a mum right now!

He was a little early, but George had agreed to take over the shop for the rest of the day so Fred could 'go pick up the girlfriend.' No matter how many times Fred denied it, George would always refer to (Y/N) as Fred's girlfriend, or his girl, or (when he was feeling particularly annoying) his one and only.

It's not that Fred didn't want her to be his girlfriend – actually hed love it – but the fact that she wasn't just sucked. And every time he had to correct his brother was just a reminder.

He was pulled out of his thoughts when a body jumped onto him and wrapped their arms around his neck, he almost fell over with the sudden impact, but quickly gained his balance. When he got over the sudden shock, he realised who it was and hugged back. "Hey, (Y/N/N)! how'd it go?"

(Y/N) pulled away and smiled at him. "It was great! Well, we mostly just went through a load of stuff we should already know and listened to the professors ridiculously long speech about why three pinned plugs are so much better than two pinned plugs..." she rambled on.

Fred laughed with her, even though he had absolutely no idea what she was talking about; she was so cute when she rambled on about her interests. "Well, since it was so great, I have a surprise for you." He beamed as he led the way.

"Really? What for?" (Y/N) asked as she hurried to catch up with him – damn him and his long-ass giraffe legs!

He smiled down at her and pulled her along by the hand. "For surviving your first day of course! Now come on!"

He led to a park – the same park, (Y/N) realised, that he walked her to a month ago when they met.

Fred stopped at a spot by a tree and directed her a few feet away. "Okay," he clapped his hands and faced her, "close your eyes."

(Y/N) furrowed her brows and looked at him suspiciously, "Why?"

Fred smirked and crossed his arms. "Just do it, okay?" (Y/N) closed and covered her eyes. "And no peaking, promise?"

"Promise." Fred fumbled around to grab his wand, then paused and looked at her. He started waving his arms in front of her and making strange gestures and jumping and basically whatever comes to mind – of course, all (Y/N) could hear was his shuffling. "What are you doing?"

Fred stopped quickly and looked around – just remembering he's still in public – then cleared his throat. "N-nothing. Just checking you're not looking."

A few mumbles were heard and some more shuffling, then (Y/N) was given the cue to uncover her eyes. Well by that, Fred actually pulled her hands from her face to reveal her surprise.

On the floor was a large flannel patterned blanket and a basket full of foods and candies, and a few bottles with a funny label. (Y/N) gasped, "Wha- you did all this?" She asked astoundedly, turning to face him.

Fred nodded proudly. "Yep! Thought we should enjoy the sunny days while we still can." He tugged on her hand and sat her down, then started pulling out different items from the basket: some sandwiches, various fruits, Molly's cookies, chocolate covered strawberries (George said girls like those), and some toffees and sweets he got Teddy to buy from Honeydukes last week (in exchange for a few free items from the shop).

Meanwhile, (Y/N) was still baffled at where all this came from. "B-but when did whered h-how did you–?"

"I'm told a magician never reveal his secrets, (Y/N)." He interrupted, handing her a bottle.

She sniffed it, "What's butterbeer?"

"Well..." Fred tried to think of something to explain why she'd never heard of it before, "it's a fizzy kind of... kids drink! Er... old recipe it is, so I-I doubt many people er, know about it so..." He confirmed, taking a gulp of it. "But this stuff isn't nearly as good as the old pubs we got it from as kids – they were warm and foamy and fresh out the tap. Try it."

(Y/N) shrugged and tried it, deciding it wasn't bad, then moved on to pointing out other things; like Jelly Slugs, and Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans (which she refused to eat after unfortunately getting a vomit flavoured one).

The two spent hours together, laying there and talking about anything and everything, as they always do. Fred told her about his business with his twin (saying they owned a prank shop and obviously not mentioning any magic), and how they started it when they were expelled from school for chasing their new headmaster (dictator) with 'practically harmless' fireworks. He told her all about his life and his family, and (Y/N) couldn't wait to meet them.

Soon, the sky started to burn orange into purple and faint stars started to show. Their conversations died as they watched the sun slowly melt away behind the busy London skyline, (Y/N) rubbed her arms and turned to Fred. "Do you think we should head back?" She asked, secretly hoping not to.

He shook his head and laid back. "Go back? On a night like this? No, it'd be a shame to waste a rare clear sky like this, don't you think?"

She nodded with a smile and pulled her sleeves down her hands, "True. But I am a little cold."

As she scooted closer (for warmth, of course), he pulled his coat open and beckoned for her to lay with him. She gave him a 'really?' look, to which he only nodded and gestured again. (Y/N) placed her head on his shoulder and looked back up to the sky as Fred wrapped the coat (and his arms) around her. That smooth fucker, she thought; but was, admittedly, much more comfy and warm.

Meanwhile, Fred was trying to stop his heart from hammering it's way out of his chest.

As the sky got darker, Fred started to point out the different stars and constellations that he remembered from his astronomy class at school, and telling her the stories behind them. After reciting the story of Cancer the Giant Warrior Crab and how he took on a God and lost, Fred stared down at the young woman resting her head on him. He studied the details of her face and the moonlight that reflected off of her skin, but the only thing he couldn't look away from was her eyes. The beautiful (e/c) eyes that were no longer just that; now they were brilliant glassy mirrors that reflected the entire galaxy above them and held worlds in their irises; they were infinitely deep crystal balls in which he saw his future – their future. And in that moment, he felt like the luckiest man in the world to have such a being – a complete goddess – rest on him and trust him as she did. In that moment, he knew how he felt about her.

He rubbed his thumb across her shoulder and pulled her closer, "(Y/N)," he whispered, she turned her head to face him so he could look more clearly in her eyes – the eyes he could look into forever.
