Otto Hightower

The Hightower, Oldtown: 115 AC

Otto threw the letter into the fire with a roar of anger.

Princess Aelinor, the whore, had given birth to her second child. A healthy baby girl named Valaena Velaryon, the heiress of High Tide. This second birth all but solidified the Targaryen-Velaryon alliance!

When the announcement of Aelinor and Laenor's marriage had come out, Otto had laughed at the princesses foolishness. He was smug and content that Aelinor would be forced to turn to a stud to have children.

But then Jacaerys fucking Targaryen had been born, bearing all the features of his father. And since Aelinor had retired to Dragonstone, the loyal Maester's hadn't been able to sabotage the birth.

"A Targaryen prince with the Velaryon look." the barren, pathetic Queen Aemma had praised. Otto still seethed that he hadn't been able to sabotage the Arryn Queen's final birth. Both Aemma and Daena had survived and Viserys, against all tradition, had refused a second wife and declared a girl his heir.

The hatchling Vermax had hatched soon after, but that wasn't even the worst of the horrible dragons.

The Rogue Prince had Caraxes, the Queen Who Never Was rode Meleys, Laenor had Seasmoke, Aelinor flew Talyrax, Rhaenyra had Syrax as her mount, and Laena rode Vhagar. The Arryn Queen had claimed Dreamfyre, Daena had the hatchling Tessarion (a dragon Otto believed would have been for one of his Targaryen grandsons), and Viserys, Viserys just had to claim Vermithor.

The King's health had been improving rapidly to Otto and the Hightower's horror.

And Rhaenyra... instead of marrying her to a good Andal lord, Viserys had wed her off to Qoren Martell, ending the fighting in the Dornish marches. Princess—because Viserys had let the Martell's keeping their titles— Aelia was rumored to be promised to Jacaerys. To bring in fresh blood, but also to ensure the blood purity remained.

Alicent—and how he shook in rage at the thought of his pathetic, worthless daughter—had failed to seduce Viserys and get pregnant with a proper Targaryen heir. No, she had been swiftly wed off to a worthless Redfort and Gwayne, his noble son, had been sent to the Night's Watch after a scandal.

Otto seethed and seethed as his plans fell apart.

And Aelinor Targaryen, loved by the common folk as the next Good Queen Alysanne, was the center piece of the destruction up his plots and plans.

Notes:
Otto sucks. He's a misogynistic pig.
