POV Elsa

After I decorated the cake with Jack's mom and sister I left. I told them that I had things to do, that I would be back for the evening to celebrate with everyone over a dinner.

I just hope that it will be possible. I can't let him die, there are people who love him.

Now that I arrived to the pond, I was there before they would come here. When I stepped on it, it seemed a bit fragile. I took a look around and when no one saw me, I made a pair of ice skates from ice and then I skate through the surface.

While skating, I made sure to make the ice thicker in every part. This time he wouldn't have to save his sister. Then I hid myself when I heard some cheerful sounds.

I watch how Jack appears from behind a hill, he was carrying his sister on his back and spinning happily. Then I sat down and I felt something under my hand. I brush the snow away a bit but then Bruni hops out from my back and dives into the snow. He melted it immediately and I saw a crooked wooden stick, it was long and had a G-end.

"Jack's staff," I whisper and take it into my hands.

I could hear them talking in the distance. When I peeked again I saw Jack tying skates on Emma.

"Are you trying to stop it from happening?" Someone whispered into my ear and startled me.

I look to my right and I see Nightlight.

"What are you doing here?" I ask from him.

"Same as you... I am waiting. Are you certain that it's the absolute best to stop him from drowning?" Nightlight grins and stares at me.

"Yes it is, why else would I be here? And he has a family who doesn't want to lose him," I tell him and turn back to watch Jack and Emma skating.

"Some things are meant to happen, he told you didn't he? What he is going to do once he is a guardian?" Nightlight chuckles and sits down next to me.

"You don't understand," I snap at him and then I saw his eyes getting sadder.

"I understand it better than anyone. Even I would wish that it wouldn't happen because his fate is tied with mine," Nightlight says and shrugs.

I see him placing his spear down and he picks up the wooden staff from the ground. He is examining it and then he huffs and tosses it on the surface of the pond.

"Why did you do that?" I ask from him.

"Because-- nevermind," Nightlight hums.

Then I remembered Bruni. He seemed to have disappeared and I quickly look around for him. I didn't see any sight of him and then Nightlight points at the ice.

"Fate always has their way, don't you think," he hums and I see Bruni cooling himself of on the ice.

"Bruni!" I whisper and then he notices me.

The salamander runs through the ice and I reach to grab him. He rubs himself against my cheek and I sigh from relief when he wasn't noticed.

"Hey look! A stick! Hold on to the other end Ems!" I heard Jack cheering and then I look over a snow covered bush.

Emma skates to Jack and holds on to the branch. Then he began spinning her around and she was giggling. In the end she lost her grip and flew down.

"Haha! Sorry!" Jack laughs and gets up as well. They both had fallen.

"It's fine--," Emma giggles and stands up.

The ice cracked.

I didn't even notice it until now, Bruni had melted the ice a bit.

"Jack!" Emma cries out.

I could see the shock in Jack's eyes.

"H-hey, it's fine... I'll get you out from there... Just wait," Jack said and tried to get closer but the ice cracked again.

"No, I need to help them," I gasp and reach my hand to freeze the ice.

Suddenly the Nightlight grabs my arm and pulls me back. He looks at me in a certain way and shakes his head. I try to look behind him but he went between me and the lake.

"That's not why I guided you here. My job was to find new Guardians and that boy...he will be strong, I just know it," he says with serious tone.

"But that's Jack!" I tell him and try to shake him off.

"No! That's not the Jack you met! He and I - we're Jack Frost," the Nightlight says and touches his chest.

"That's not possible," I shake my head.

"It is, today he and I will become the Winter Spirit and we need your help for it," Nightlight says and I see his eyes tearing up.

"What," I exhale and relax.

"Years, years ago I gave my powers of winter to a girl who was destined to do something great... but you can feel it? Your powers are growing out to be too strong even now that you're a spirit?" he says.

"Y-yes," I whisper and swallow the lumpy feeling down.

He smiles a bit now, "I know that you will find a way to give part of that power to him once we're reborn. This is why I brought you here. You must understand that Jack Frost is meant to be."

"B-but," I gulp.

"Help him the way he needs for you to," he says, smiling warmly and suddenly disappears.

Finally.

I thought when I got up and got ready to freeze the pond again. I saw Jack and Emma playing hopscotch on the pond with Jack being on his bare feet. He had tossed his skates on the edge of the pond. Then I paused as I remembered how Jack Frost had felt when he told me about this. He wasn't sad over losing his life for his sister.

I see how Jack pulls Emma away from the weakest part of the ice but then he is there instead of her. After a chuckle the ice broke under him and he fell.

"Jack!" Emma shouts and I quickly freeze the ice better under her.

I watch her running away to get help. Then I slowly head to the edge of the ice.

Will you be my breathe through the deep, deep water?

Jack's voice sang inside my head. Without thinking I let myself drop down into the water as well. I saw him sinking down, twitching and turning.

He seemed to be scared. Then I noticed how Nokk was pulling him down from his cape.

I swam to him and waved my hand to the Nokk to let him go. He was still kicking and twitching when I reached him. I wrap my arms around him, hug him tightly and then he relaxed.

I saw his eyes looking at me as I pressed my lips against his. His arms went around me and as I breathed into him, I could feel how his body went limb and he relaxed.

When I let go of him, he was sinking down, looking like he was sleeping. Then I swam to surface and climbed out from the water. I drag myself to the shore and I feel my body shaking, not from the cold but all the tears which I am trying to keep away.

"You made a choice," Nightlight says and when I look up, I see him leaning against a tree.

"I killed him! I froze him so--- so--," I cry aloud and cover my mouth.

My heart aches.

"Drowning itself must hurt so you made a favor, now...if you excuse me - I need to be somewhere. I'm being called," Nightlight mumbled and I see him walking towards the pond.

Once he got to the opening of the ice he disappeared. I spent my day by the edge of the pond, watching how people from the village spend the whole day and some of the night trying to find Jack but in the end they gave up. The last to leave were his family and then there was darkness around the pond.

"Why isn't he waking up..." I whisper as I look at the empty pond.

I had this faint memory of seeing that scene when I brought Jack to Ahtohallan. He had risen from the pond. I collapse to sit down and I hug my knees. Did I make a mistake? Is something different?

I feel gentle rubbing against my hand and I see Bruni. He pushes his head against my hand and I pet him with my finger. My bag was close by and I noticed something sticking out from there. I reach out to it and pull a wood horse to my hands.

"I'm sorry Jack," I mumble with my voice trembling as I stare at the horse which he had made.

I press my forehead against the horse and I sniff. Then I prepared myself to get up and I called out to Nokk.

That was when the clouds moved aside and the moon shines on the pond. The ice explodes and Nokk rides out to me but there's also something else.

"Hide!" I whisper out to myself when I saw a body rising up from the pond.

I watch how a boy is brought up, how he gasps for air and seems confused. His blue eyes look around confused and then he is brought on the pond to his feet. His hair was snow white and his skin was pale. And I felt the presence that I knew so well.

"Jack Frost," I smile and get ready to run up to him but then I paused.

I glance up at the moon, I feel like it's telling me not to go.

Now I'm just staying hidden, watching him. He is looking at the moon and walking around.

Share your powers.

I heard a whisper and I glance up. It felt like someone was talking to me from far, far away but it couldn't be the moon, could it?

Jack was walking around the pond. I wonder how to do what the voice asked from me, what Nightlight had also mentioned. Then I saw Jack closing to the staff and I remember what he told me, that his powers of winter came from that staff.

Just when his foot touched the staff, I send a powerful blast of my powers at the staff. After that, I didn't feel as strong anymore. I had to lean against a tree for a moment and breathe, it had taken its toll to share my power.

He saw the staff frosting when his bare foot touched the staff. Then he picked it up and the surface of the pond frosts a bit as an icy blast shoots out from the end. Jack stares at it in awe and he starts running around the pond and freezing things.

I take a step forward but then I noticed something in the light ray of the moon. My eyes follow the beam and then I see a tiny, chubby man walking towards me.

"Don't. It's better if he doesn't see you right now," the man says and I grab Bruni from the ground. He had just tried to run to Jack.

Bruni struggles in my hands but I cover him with snow.

"Who are you? Why can't I go to him?" I start to feel frustrated with everyone telling me what to do.

"You care for him. If you do that now, they would split because their minds, Jack's body and Nightlight's spirit...they're still tight together barely. Jackson Overland would die," the man says and comes next to me.

We watch how Jack freezes the tree. The lumpy feeling inside my throat is getting too much to bear.

"Are you saying that I can't be with him?" I say with my voice breaking apart.

Did I come here for nothing?

"Yes and neither can I... I know it's painful, Nightlight and I have always been close and to erase his memories like this," The man sighs and looks at Jack with sad expression.

"Wait...you must be... the Man in the Moon?" I gasp and the man laughs softly.

"Yes but I am a Man on earth right now. I came to say farewell to my friend," he hums.

"Why am I here?" I insist to know.

"You helped with bringing Jack Frost to this world which I am eternally thankful for, fifth spirit. Also, could you ask Gale to watch over him? The wind seems eager," he chuckled and then I felt it too. A gentle breeze was tickling against our backs, eagerly as if a dog was waiting for permission to fetch the stick.

I nod my head and then call out to the wind, "Gale. Please, listen to Jack from now on... I will call you if I need you for anything but he needs you more."

The wind got a bit warmer and it circled around me cheerfully before it moved ahead. I brush my hair behind my ear as I watch how Gale crosses the ice and goes happily around him, tossing him into air. It made me feel a bit calmer when I heard Jack laughing.

It didn't take long for Jack to get his balance. He was floating in the air and watching at the moon.

"Your name is Jack Frost," the man spoke quietly, his eyes glowed just like the moon and then quieted down.

When I glanced at him, Jack flew away.

"Thank you for coming here but please, refrain from contact with him. He is still not ready to meet you nor me," Manny sighs to me.

"I just.... want to see him for once to say my goodbyes," I exhale and ran after the direction of the wind.

I grab my bag from the ground and then Bruni. Nokk rode next to me and I hop on its back.

"Take me to him!" I say to the Nokk and then I look over my shoulder.

There was just a silver mist on the place where Manny had been. Then I glance up and see the moon, it feels as if it's telling me no. Now I understood what Jack meant with the feeling of someone watching.

Nokk brought me to the city of Burgess and paused in the edge of town. I saw Jack walking around and how people kept passing him and then someone went right through him.

His expression, it was so shocked and hurt that I wanted to go and just hug him. Because of me he lost everything.

"Right, I will take him to Arendelle and then we will make everyone to believe in him," I whisper and almost took the first step.

Seeing me, it might cause Jack's death again.

I stood still like an idiot, thinking what Manny said. Should I risk it?

Without really noticing it myself, it took long with me processing the information and suddenly I found myself jumping to hide when Jack ran away from the town. He flew away and I just watch at his figure, disappearing to the sky.

"Take care of him Gale," I whisper and then I go and find the Nokk.

My heart was aching as I climbed on the Nokk and rode it away from Burgess and away from America. I was returning home, without the one I came looking for.

But the most painful strike to my heart, something that I didn't really want to know was that it was actually my fault.

The ice melted because I brought Bruni, the Nokk pulled him under and it was me who...

"Oh Nokk... why didn't I save him?" I whisper.

My tears are mixed with the salt water of the sea as the waves splash water on me. We're crossing the sea.

It was me who in the end gave him the freezing kiss of death.

Pov Jack

Darkness. That's the first thing I remember. It was dark, it was cold, and I was scared. But then... then I saw the Moon. It was so big, and it was so bright. It seemed to chase the darkness away. And when it did... I wasn't scared anymore. Why I was there and what I was meant to do, that I've never known, and a part of me wonders if I ever will.

The winter's night was cold but I didn't feel it like that. I tried to look for someone nearby to ask for directions home, wherever that is but there was no one.

My foot touched a wooden stick and something shot out from it. I reach out to it and suddenly it blasts frost that makes frost roses on the ice.

It was amazing.

I laugh and start to run around, freezing things. First I tap a tree with it and the way the ice curled around the tree trunk was beautiful. I couldn't help myself and I began to spin around the ice, making more of these pretty patterns around.

"WHOA!" I had to gasp when I felt my feet rising up and I was thrown into air.

At first I had hard time getting my balance but then I laughed as I got it. The wind was playing with me. As I float in the air I stare at the moon for a moment.

Your name is Jack Frost.

It felt like the moon just spoke to me.

"Hey! Can you tell anything else to me? Where did I come from? Why am I here?" I try shouting to the sky but no one responded.

Then I realized that the Moon wasn't on the mood to chat. I should find my answers elsewhere.

"Take me to where there is people," I tell the wind and it flies me through the sky.

I land on my feet to the ground in the edge of a village. First I would find my answers and home, then I could go and show off with my wonderful powers. Or does everyone know how to freeze things and fly?

"Hey" I greeted someone but they passed me.

It kept going, I tried to get someone to notice me and chat but they were just ignoring me. It was getting frustrating.

Then I went in front of a lady, "Excuse me miss but could you help me?"

She walked right
