She's said nothing. She hasn't uttered a single word since we danced. I'm... nervous. What if she was drunk and didn't mean to dance with me? What if...? No, Hyunjin, stop. These questions aren't going to help you. These questions are going to make you question yourself even more. That's not ok.
"Hyunjin...you're spaced out. Again," Jisung smiled.
"Oh, sorry," I stuttered, blinking a few times to make sure I still wasn't in my thoughts. I guess traversing through my thoughts really makes me feel like I am not present.
"I was asking you what you wanted to do today," he stated.
"How about we...hold a vlive, and THEN we go out for joah joah americanos!" I smiled. I need to get some fresh air and get away from my thoughts. It's a break from life and the business of my mind.
"Whatever you wanna do, bro," he beamed with a grin that could light up the darkest room and leaped into action like a superhero. He powered up the computer, and the screen flickered dramatically like it was waking from a deep slumber. It went through its dance of shutting down, restarting, and resetting itself like it was performing in a tech-inspired Broadway show, complete with dramatic lights and sound effects. After what felt like an eternity of suspense, it finally allowed us to log in as if granting us access to a secret digital realm! (Author: Ok Hyunjin...just face it, the computer was laggy, nothing more. Hyunjin: I'm trying to channel my inner drama llama here, ok? Jisung: Sure....) We logged onto the live platform and pressed the button that seemed to like never work when I wanted it to. Luckily, this time, it worked!
"HI STAY! THE BUTTON FINALLY WORKED OMG YAS! INSTAGRAM LIVES ARE FINALLY NOT GLITCHING!" Jisung yelled, bouncing around the room like he just won the lottery.
"Jisung...stop overreacting!!!" I whined, trying to contain my disappointment.
He dramatically fell onto the floor, clutching his chest. "How dare you, drama llama! This is a monumental moment!"
"Excuse me! You're talking to your elder over here!" I scoffed, striking a pose like I was on a royal throne.
"Elder? You're only a few months older than me, bro! Are you serious right now?!"
"Those few months give me wisdom beyond your years," I said, nodding sagely.
He rolled his eyes and, in an epic show of rebellion, slapped me with a pillow. "Wisdom? More like dramatic flair!"
As I retaliated with my pillow, chaos erupted. Feathers flew everywhere as we turned the living room into a battleground, each scream of laughter punctuated by the thump of pillows hitting their targets. "Prepare to face the wrath of the elder!" I shouted, launching another attack.
"Not today, dramatic one!" Jisung countered, dodging just in time. The two of us may have gone a bit overboard, but in that moment, nothing else mattered. Not even the thousands of fans watching our chaos. They can wait.
"Give...us...a..moment," I said, catching my breath while drinking some water. The comments were erupting with chaos, per usual.
"STAY, how are you guys?" Jisung asked, "Good, bad, ok, crazy? Everything?"

We were on the live for a decent amount of time until we realized that if we didn't head out, we probably wouldn't be able to do the rest of our agenda. We slipped our shoes on and headed out the door. I was going to ask Lee Know and Jiyoung later if they wanted to come with us to Apgujeong. But...maybe another day.
"C'mon! Let's go to Starbucks to go get coffee! COME ON HYUNJINIE!" Jisung whined.
"Jisung, shush! We're out in public without a guard," I hissed.
"Shoot...we're out and about without anyone," he realized, biting his lower lip.
"It's ok. I'll just order online," I sighed. Being an idol isn't always easy. You have to look happy all the time, smile, and not go out that often to do what you want. But I think we're breaking those rules more than a toddler in a candy store. We're supposed to be calm and collected, like serene yoga gurus on camera... *cough*... but let's be real, we're more like a bunch of caffeinated squirrels trying to figure out how to work a selfie stick! We're definitely more crazy than calm—if a calm person walks into the room, we probably just scare them away with our craziness! Once I ordered, we headed to the location. We covered our heads with hoods and a mask. We headed inside, grabbed our americanos, and thanked the workers. We were about to open the door to exit when someone approached us.
"Excuse me, are you guys Enhypen?" two girls asked. Us? Enhypen?
"Um, no, sorry, we aren't Enhypen," I quickly stated.
"Yeah, I'm too short to even be Jungwon," Jisung laughed. Shut it, Jisung.
"Oh, sorry to be a bother," they smiled. They both were also wearing all black with a mask. Interesting.
"Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm Sullyoon. And she is Haewon," they smiled. NMIXX?
"Um...are you guys NMIXX?" I quickly asked.
"...Yeah...we are," they laughed. The little amateurs. They don't really know how to be disguised, do they?
"We're Stray Kids. Han, Hyunjin," Jisung smiled.
"No way...we actually bumped into people from our agency!" Haewon squeaked. Aw, she's cute. But...not my type. I don't like the cutesy girls as much as I like cute, yet strong ones.
"Anyways, we have a place to go. It was nice seeing you again," Jisung grinned, and we swiftly left.
"Well...that was weird," I sighed.
"Seeing people from our agency is always weird, Hyunjin," Jisung shrugged as we headed towards the park.
"You know, I just realized that Jiyoung hasn't texted me..." I explained.
"I highly doubt that Hyunjin. She responds to texts so quickly," he said, sipping his coffee nonchalantly, "You sure that you just forgot to give her your number?"
"OH MY GOD, I'M SO STUPID! I-" I started.
"YOU PABO!" Jisung yelled. (a/n: pabo means stupid in Korean)
"HOW DID I FORGET TO GIVE HER MY NUMBER?!" I yelled.
"I DON'T KNOW I WASN'T THERE!" Jisung yelled back. Uh oh. People are looking towards us. Oops.
"I swear I'm so dumb I can't believe myself now..." I mumbled, typing a message on my phone. How could I be that stupid? I was the one who asked for her number, and I never realized I never gave her mine!
"Hyunjin! I can't believe you," Han laughed, slapping my back. I'm going to get back problems from everyone slapping my back!
"Han, isn't it strange how so many JYP groups have a free day today? My sister mentioned it, too. Usually, it's just one or two," I remarked, sensing Han's enigmatic expression.
"Yeah, it's unusual, especially since it's not a holiday, right?" he replied, curiosity flickering in his eyes.
"Nope, definitely not. The streets would be packed if it were," I shrugged, unease gnawing at my thoughts. What was really going on?
- FLASHBACK -
"What do you reckon is going on over there?" Yeji leaned closer to Lee Know, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I don't know. I saw... I think it was Izumi and JYP PD-nim. Dressed in all black. With walkie-talkies. You know, the whole deal," he replied cautiously, glancing around to ensure they weren't overheard. I pretended not to eavesdrop, but their conversation was too interesting to ignore. Walkie-talkies? All black?
"Keep an eye out, Lee Know. Don't mention it to anyone except Ji-Eun," Yeji said, her tone sharp and urgent.
"We really need to inform Hyunjin and Jiyoung soon," he urged, still keeping his voice low.
"Let's wait until something that I'll-tell-you-what-is happens. I can't risk anyone hearing this," she insisted, casting a wary glance over her shoulder.
- END OF FLASHBACK -
"WAIT! I think I know why!" I gasped.
"What is it?" Jisung asked intently.
"I think... JYP PD-nim is up to something. I overheard my sister and Lee Know talking about seeing him and Izumi in some hallway, wearing all black. With Walkie-talkies," I whispered.
"Do...you...think you're...a mafia, Hyunjin? Have you heard about the news? One news outlet found a mysterious house in an alley, and if anyone touched it, they died," Jisung murmured.
"Why would I be a mafia?" I scoffed.
"Think about it. Yeji always wears black. Lee Know is always secretive. They were talking about people wearing black and Walkie-talkies. They seem like they are allies. What if...you both have to fight and do all that cool stuff?" Jisung asked.
"That seems interesting. Now that I remember, they were talking about some secret event that they couldn't speak about," I shrugged.
"MAYBE...it's both of you getting together?" Jisung suggested.
"Possibly," I stated, a little worried.
"THAT'S why Yeji is so adamant about you and Jiyoung getting together!" Jisung exclaimed, clasping his hands together, "If you actually are a mafia, I'm not missing out on fighting! I'm not sure if I could help because, as far as I know, I'm not related to you, but I'm gonna try! My friend is not going to fight without quokka!" I laughed.
"Of course, Han, " I smiled. We continued speaking about things like work, the future, food, the next pranks to pull on members, and stuff like that. There was one thing that was really hilarious: the plan to prank the rest of the members.
"So, what's the plan?" he asked.
"We're gonna switch the toilet paper rolls to white parchment paper!" I exclaimed.
"Cool! How, though?"
"First, we'll sneak into the bathroom when no one's around. We'll take the regular toilet paper rolls and replace them with the parchment paper, making sure to fold the ends to look like a fancy restaurant napkin. Then, we'll add a small sign on the wall that says, 'Welcome to the Parchment Palace – where every visit is a luxury!'" I grinned.
"To top it off, we could even place some fake flowers next to the toilet to give it that extra classy touch. And right before we do the switch, we can set up a hidden camera to capture everyone's reactions. It'll be priceless!" Jisung laughed.
"You really think they'll find it funny?" I asked with a chuckle.
"Definitely! It'll be a hilarious surprise!" Han giggled, writing it all down on his phone.
"Mission complete!" we exclaimed and high-fived. Hello life. I know, there's a decently good chance that it will be turned upside down. But really, who cares? It's my life, the way I choose to live. Hello, a new chapter. Time to look for love and a new approach.
