"So everyone, today's the day. Your last day here. My last day of teaching all of my favourite students." Mrs Robinson spoke as she stood at the front of the class. The principal knocked at the door and opened it and everyone greeted him.
"Good afternoon class..." He started. "I have some very upsetting news regarding one of your classmates." Everyone gasped as they listened. "Kyle, has been put into a induced coma due to head injuries that he suffered over the weekend." Chelsea watched as the principal spoke. "The police will be coming in later on today, to speak to a few people who were with Kyle at the weekend, so if you could all please think about Kyle at this sad time."
"What the hell happened?" Zak stood up, and shouted.
"Mr Marshall, I do not expect to be shouted at, now sit down." The principal said sternly back.
"Sir, he was fine a good ten minutes before I last saw him, I don't understand."
"Neither do any of us Zak but we have to go with things as it happens. But if anyone knows of anything you need to tell me and the officers if we request to speak to you. Have a good day everyone." The principal nodded at Mrs Robinson and left the class, the bell rang a few minutes after and Chelsea grabbed her bag before fleeing the class leaving Zoey and Lola to themselves. She walked swiftly down the corridor and pulled Oliver aside.
"I need to talk to you." She pulled his shirt into a empty room and closed the door, locking it behind her.
" Chelsea what is going on?" Oliver asked slowly.
"It's Kyle." She whispered back. "He's in a coma..." Oliver stood still, staring right through her. "Ollie..."
"Right..."
"Ollie how hard did you hit him?"
"I didn't hit him that hard, I admit I punched him in the face. But Chelsea I was angry, I didn't know what to do other than hit him."
"Ollie he could die!" Chelsea raised her voice a little louder.
"He shouldn't of forced himself on you and then I wouldn't have done what I did in the first place!" Oliver snapped at her, making Chelsea shiver as his voice grew dark with anger. Chelsea moved forward towards him, grabbing hold of his hands and pulling them around her, hugging him tightly.
"What are we going to do?" She whispered.
"Nothing..."
"Well let's hope he doesn't die because of these injuries." Chelsea tried to reassure herself, but it didn't really work. They walked out of the room and walked over to their lockers, Chelsea opened her locker and put the books that she didn't need and slammed it shut. She spun around and saw Oliver staring at her. "I've got my last exam tonight."
"Tonight?"
"Yeah. It's my English final, they had to reschedule it."
"Did you want me to pick you up?" He grabbed hold of her hands and caressed them with his thumbs.
"No, it's fine. I'll walk home."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes Ollie, I'll be fine."
"Okay... I've got to get going, I'll see you tomorrow?" Chelsea nodded and leaned up letting Oliver kiss her gently on the lips and then she watched him watch away, hands in his pockets.
"Okay everyone put your pens down. The exam is now over." The examiner spoke loudly in the hall. Chelsea placed her pen down and gently tapped the desk and glanced over at Lola who was biting her nails. "I will dismiss one row at a time, please leave the hall quietly, grab your things and go." The examiner got each row up and soon it was Lola and zoey's rows out the door and before she knew it Chelsea's row was being told to leave.
"Oh my god that's it! We're all done!" Lola linked her arms with both the girls on either side. "This calls for a drink!"
"Ah Lola I'm gonna get going." Chelsea butted in before growing silent again.
"Yeah same here Lo." Zoey spoke a few seconds after.
"Awh guys no don't. I'll buy a round."
"I'm really tired Lola, I'll ring you tomorrow, you girls can come round mine and we'll get ready for the bonfire tomorrow. Okay?" Lola and Zoey nodded, yet Lola sulked. Chelsea hugged each of the girls and kissed them on their cheeks before adjusting the bag on her shoulders and walking down the road through the town.
Chelsea walked through the town slowly, passing the shops that were in darkness and the pub that was in full swing. "Chels!" Lola called from behind her.
"Lola?"
"Just one drink. Please."
"I can't Lo I'm sorry.. Have one on me okay? I'll text you." Chelsea blew Lola and kiss and then kept on walking. She plugged her earphones in and carried on walking. The town grew more silent as she walked and the lights flickered over her as she walked. Chelsea stood still for a few minutes and looked around, a throat clearing over the road from a man made her jump, nearly dropping her bag on the floor. She sorted her bag out and continued to walk forward without looking in front of her. Chelsea walked a few steps and then collided into someone. Chelsea looked up and brushed her hair out of her eyes and looked up. "Oh god I'm sorry, I-" Chelsea gasped, and looked at the person, it was like she was looking in the mirror at her reflection. "What?"
"Sorry..." The girl quickly said before running off, round a dark alleyway disappearing before her eyes.
"What just happened?" Chelsea questioned herself and carried on walking home.
Lola sat at a booth on her own, drinking the glass of wine she had in her hand. "Got another glass?"
"Chelsea you made it." Lola quickly raised from her seat and hugged the girl who looked a lot like Chelsea. They both sat down at the booth. The girl grabbed the glass and downed the wine quickly and Lola sat there gobsmacked. "Didn't you want to taste it?" She shook her head. "Anyways what made you change your mind?"
"I didn't want to leave my best friend to drink on her own." The girl smirked and raised her eyebrows.
"You changed really quickly."
"Oh yeah, the clothes I was wearing wasn't very comfortable." The girl was wearing black skinny jeans and a black top with a leather jacket, her hair cascading down her front in luscious curls. The girl leaned forward so she was closer to Lola. "Now listen to me, Lola." Lola stated deep into the girls eyes and nodded slowly. "I want every little detail on my doppelgänger."
"Doppel what?"
"A doppelgänger is something who looks like someone else due to magic. Now I want you to find out everything about little Chelsea's name, and I don't want you to stop until you tell me where her best friend Isabelle is."
"Who's Isabelle?"
"Chelsea's best friend." Lola stared deeper into the girls eyes as she spoke. "My name is Alex and I want you to meet my requirements and if you don't..." Alex breathed. "I'll kill you."
"Okay. I won't stop until I've got what you wanted."
"And if that means invading her home or anything like that I don't care."
"What happens if I can't find anything about Isabelle?"
" I don't care. I really want to know what happened to her, but I want more scoop on Chelsea's life. She is living my life anyways. But if you don't get me what I want I will turn the people you love into vampires."
"V-vampires aren't real?"
"Oh honey they are and with a sip of this." Alex pointed to her wrist. "And a snap of a neck, you'll have a bunch of new vampires to control. Now do you understand?"
"Yes, I understand Alex."
"Great, now I'll leave you too your wine. Have a good night Lola." Alex strided out of the bar and left Lola drinking on her own.
"Can you come over?" Chelsea spoke to Oliver on the phone.
"Why what's wrong?" He questioned her, worriedly.
"It's just something I saw tonight."
"Do you think your parents will let you stay at mine?"
"I don't know, I don't see why not."
"I'll be there in five." Chelsea hung up the call and grabbed a bag from under her bed. She stuffed an extra pair of clothes in her bag and ran downstairs.
"Mom, dad. I'm staying at Oliver's tonight."
"Honey, you stayed their last night." Pete spoke as he sat watching television.
"So it's alright?" Chelsea asked chuckling a little.
"Yeah course."
"Thanks dad."
"Will you be back in the morning?" He asked her.
"Probably not, there is a bonfire being held for the whole class so I'm going to that with Oliver."
"I'm glad you've found someone to take care of you Chels. Even though you were young back then, Tommy treated you like crap and I've always wanted you to find someone you can actually trust and it looks like Oliver's the one."
"Oh dad." Chelsea smiled and hugged her dad tightly. A car horn sounded outside and Chelsea smiled a little. "Okay I'm going. Can you tell mom that I'm over Olivers and that I won't be back till tomorrow evening. I love you both."
"Okay darling I will. Goodnight." He blew a kiss and Chelsea picked up her bag and walked out of the door.
"Did you want a drink?"
"If that's alright that would be nice thanks Ollie."
"Go sit down in the lounge and I'll be right there." He took hold of her bag and walked into his room. Chelsea slipped of her shoes and sat cross legged on the couch, relaxing into the cushions. Oliver came walking in a few moments later with a mug that was steaming from the top and Chelsea gladly took it and watched him sit down next to her. "Now what's wrong?" He asked sincerely.
"It was when I was walking home from my exam..." Oliver nodded. "I swear on my life that I bumped into a girl that looked a lot like me!"
"Chelsea you probably were seeing things... There are people in the world that look like other people but to be the spitting image of one person is not real."
"I'm being serious Ollie. She was exactly like me! It was like I was staring at myself in the mirror."
"Babe, listen. There isn't anyone in this world, and especially not in this town that looks exactly like you." Ollie tried to reassure her, but it was no use.
"I'm going to find her and confront her! I could be a twin for all I know Ollie." Chelsea finished off the rest of her drink a couple of minutes later and yawned. "I'm really tired, I'm going to bed you coming?"
"I will do in a minute babe." He smiled and stared out the window.
Oliver put the cups in the sink and slipped on his shoes, putting the door on jar and going outside into the night. "I can hear you." He spoke first. "I know it's you." He said again, waiting for a reply.
"Well, well, well. Oliver. How nice it is to see you after all these years." She stepped out of the dark shadows and stood there smirking at him.
"Alexandra." He growled.
"I actually go by the name Alex now, seems more fitting in this day and age." She chuckled and moved closer. "How's my little Oliver been?"
"Why are you back here?" He asked sternly. "You know Chelsea saw you earlier?"
"Oh I know, I purposely did it. She doesn't know about us?"
"She doesn't know anything to do with this life and she will never know."
"Are you so sure?" Alex smirked viciously.
"You dare do anything to make her question, I will kill you."
"Ooh touchy. You know you are like your sister."
"I'm nothing like her and I never will be. Now Alex what are you doing here?"
"I've heard rumours."
"About?" Oliver cocked an eyebrow.
"That your sister is making her move." Alex breathed. "I've come here as a warning from my links that she won't stop until she has been given what she's wanted."
"And that concerns me because?" He folded his arms.
"She's your sister Oliver, you are a dating a human and Chelsea is my doppelgänger, she's the pawn in this little game of your sisters." Oliver tutted and sighed.
"I heard that Chelsea's best friend Isabelle fled the town and it doesn't look good for Chelsea at this moment. I think it's in your best interest to tell Chelsea what is happening Oliver."
"I'm not going to her anything she doesn't need to know."
"But she does need to know!" Alex hissed. "How are you meant to protect her from anything if she don't know what's coming after her?"
"How can I trust you?"
"You don't have to trust me, I just need you to listen. Plus you've never trusted me ever since I turned you, and I don't expect you to now. I'm not here to make your life harder, you need to know what your options are and this is the only one. Chelsea would be safer if she knew about it all."
"I'll think about it." Oliver hesitated. "So is that why you're here?" Alex nodded.
"Plus I have some duties of my own to carry out."
"Like what?"
"Always the questionable one." She laughed. "I'll see you around." Alex smirked and winked before shooting off into the night.
Chelsea and Oliver spent the next day together, figuring out what to make Oliver wear for the bonfire party. "I think you should wear something warm." Chelsea suggested to him but he sat on the bed, mesmerised by something else. "Ollie, what's on your mind?"
"Oh. Um nothing don't worry about it."
"Babe, you've been like this all day nearly, and we've got 30 minutes before the bonfire starts and you're just like this." Chelsea crouched down and leaned against Olivers knees. "What's wrong? I've never seen you like this."
"It's nothing." Oliver lifted Chelsea up from the floor and stood with her. "What was you going to choose for me to wear tonight?" He smiled lightly and stared at her as she moved over to his wardrobe and picked out some clothes.
The party was in full swing, Chelsea's classmates were all dotted around the place, giggling and drinking with their friends. Chelsea and Oliver walked into the clearing together, hand in hand. Zoey and Lola came rushing over and bear hugging the both of them. "isn't this great?!" They both shouted in unison over the loud music and Chelsea nodded.
"Did you want a drink?" Oliver asked Chelsea and she nodded towards him and watched him go off.
"So I was wondering, your friend Isabelle?" Lola started and Chelsea watched her as she spoke. "What made her go away?"
"What? What are you talking about Lo?"
"I'm just curious."
"You don't even know her." Chelsea snapped.
"I heard from someone that she was your best friend."
"Who?" Chelsea glared at Lola, as Lola was standing she was swaying, meaning she had been drinking a little.
"I can't remember."
"She moved away to Canada. That's all I know."
"Okay. Hi Oliver!" Lola waved and then decided to walk off. Chelsea looked at Zoey and tutted.
"What was she going on about?"
"I don't know... She doesn't even know Isabelle." Oliver raised his eyebrows and looked Chelsea.
"What's going on?"
"Lola's just being weird... Don't worry about it." Chelsea smiled warmly and turned to peck Ollie on the cheek.
"So you understand what you've got to do?"
"Wait how did I get here?" Tommy looked around. "Where the hell am I?" Alex hugged and stepped forward, starting to compel Tommy.
"You are here to make Oliver snap. Push him so he gets angry and I bring Chelsea to the place and she finds out its simple."
"What happens why I get him angry?" Tommy replied.
"You die. Obviously. Now go, he's over there, Chelsea's not there do it now and don't come back till its done." Tommy nodded slowly and then started to walk over to Oliver.
Alex ran off smelling the air, looking for her doppelgänger, it didn't take long before she found her standing by herself. "Hi I don't think we've met before-" Alex started talking and Chelsea spun around quickly, gasping. "My name is Alex." She smirked viciously
"What? Oh my god, I was right you look exactly like me!"
"Correction you look like me. I'll give you the deets later, you've gotta follow me."
"Where? Where are we going? I don't even know you!" Chelsea shrieked. Alex moved closer to her and started to compel her.
"Follow. Me. Now." Alex said slowly and Chelsea obeyed. They walked towards the sounds of Oliver and Tommy.
"Get away from me, you're a drunken mess." Oliver complained. Alex and Chelsea stood a few steps away, but Tommy was getting in the way of Oliver that he didn't even know she was standing there. "Who even are you?" Oliver shouted. Tommy threw his fists, colliding with Olivers cheek, he jumped closer each time he threw punches. Oliver pushed him and Tommy stumbled.
"Keep watching this is getting interesting." Alex whispered to Chelsea who was watching the fight.
"I know your a monster!" Tommy shouted and Oliver clenched his fists. "You took my girlfriend away and now I'm going to kill you!" Tommy shouted loudly, punching Oliver around the face again but he just stood there, not phased by the fight. Tommy backed away and picked up a bottle, smashing it against a tree so the end had become spiky and dangerous. Tommy ran towards Oliver screaming. Oliver hissed and his fangs came down in his mouth, Chelsea watched as the fight unfolded. Tommy shoved the glass bottle into Olivers torso, piercing his skin but Oliver was still standing. He gripped hold of Tommy's shoulder and pulled him closer, Oliver hissed again and bit into his neck, delving deep into his jugular, blood spewed from Tommy's neck and he gasped as Oliver kept biting through the flesh, Ollie growled as he ate, this had been the first time in a good few weeks where he ate someone straight from their neck instead of little bits here and there. Chelsea watched wide-eyed and put her hand over her mouth, she watched as Oliver pulled back from Tommy's throat and hissed, putting both of his hands on each side of his bloody neck and twisted quickly. The sound of his neck snapping shivered through the air and Chelsea screamed loudly getting the attention of Oliver who dropped Tommy on the floor like a toy.
