Before You Read
This is quite an old story... If you happen to find any mistakes or some things that don't sound right, I'll be fixing them soon. This story is kind of under editing I guess, haha. Anyways, enjoy!

The sun rose at Ever After High, giving a beautiful view of the sky. All the citizens of the Land of Ever After were awakening.

Raven Queen opened her eyes and yawned.

Apple White was already awake singing in her mirror.

"Oh, the sun is shining, the birds are singing. Everyone is awake, and the bells will soon ringing..."

Raven rolled her eyes and got out of bed.

I wish she wouldn't sing in the morning... Or ever, Raven thought as she walked to the bathroom.

After she got ready, Raven headed to the Castleteria for breakfast. Today they were serving pancakes and with maple syrup and eggs. She got her food and sat down at an empty table.

She knew if she attempted to sit with anyone else the table would clear faster than...well, people running away from Raven.

She cut her pancakes into four pieces, put syrup on it and started eating.

Nearby, Dexter Charming stood around the corner, gazing at Raven. His baby blue eyes did not leave Raven.

Before, like everyone else, Dexter thought that was evil. He avoided her as best he could. He would run to nearby halls, duck under stairwells and run every time she got nearby. But one day he accidentally bumped into her.

They fell.

She fell on the floor, and he fell in love.

Back into the present, Dexter grabbed flowers from a nearby plant, brushed off the dirt, and approached Raven.

He smiled and said "Um, mind if I , um, sit here?" Raven was confused. She chuckled and said, "You sure? You aren't afraid of my 'evilness'?"

Dexter shrugged his shoulders. "Oh, pssh... Like I would believe that stuff." He sat and gave her the flowers. "For me?" Raven smiled and smelled them. "They're beautiful." Unfortunately, the flowers turned to ash. Dex had forgotten about Ravens powers.

Dexter drooped his shoulders. "Well, they were." Raven dropped the ash on the floor.

Dexter smoothed his hair back, even though it would not be effective. Raven thought his messy cowlick made up himself. She once found herself staring at him in Che-myth-ry.

"So... I was thinking, you, me-"

"Dexy, oh Dexy?" C.A. Cupid called as she danced over to their table.

"Oh, um, hey, Cupid." Dexter said as he looked down at his shoes. Cupid smiled and said, "One little question. Why are you sitting here?" Raven flinched.

"Um, I don't see why-"

"I mean, why sit here?" Cupid scowled. "Wouldn't you rather sit with... Another girl?"

Cupid flashed a smile and pointed at her cheeks.

What a terrible attempt, Raven thought. She always knew she had a crush on him. Raven thought highly of Dexter, but decided to leave it alone.

Dexter shook his head. "I'd rather sit here. More silence."

Cupid rolled her eyes and stomped back to her table.

Dexter turned back to Raven. "As I was saying, I was wondering if you wanted to um... go to Maddie's tea shop later."

Raven smiled from ear to ear. "I'd love to. We can go right after classes." Dexter nodded. "I'll see you there." He got up and walked out. As he did, he pumped his fists in the air and did a wacky dance. No wonder he didn't sign up for dance class. His dancing was a major fairy-fail.

Dexter walked all the way to his dorm and opened a drawer next to his bed.

He put the charm in his pocket and pulled out a note pad and quill. He flipped through pages, used pages, pages filled with words. Words that expressed his inner feelings. About Raven. He finally found a clean page and started writing.

I think about you when I open my eyes,

And when I close them in the night.

But when I am with you, your perfections sparkle

And I swoon at the sight.

His quill froze. His flow of words had paused. He sighed and placed the notepad and quill back in the drawer. Usually he could only think of one stanza. Very rarely would he write an entire poem. Poems that sucked, failed, sounded like garbage. He slammed the drawer closed, feeling ashamed. He was such a wimp. Not a brave Charming. A worthless, scared, pessimistic-

"Dexter, I think I left my keys, you mind opening the door?" Hunter was here.

Dexter got up. He was going to stand up and be like his brother. He would BE a charming.
