After everything that happened at the station, the Triplets drove Nathan and YN back to his house. It was quiet in the car, the weight of the evening hanging in the air. YN sat close to Nathan, her hand finding his as they drove through the dark streets. The comfort of his touch was all she needed right now. After everything, she just wanted to feel safe, and Nathan was the one person who could make her feel that way.
When they pulled up to Nathan's house, he turned to her and gave her a reassuring smile. "Thank you, guys," he said to the Triplets, his voice soft but full of gratitude. "You can head home. I'll take care of her from here."
They nodded, not saying much more. The Triplets were always there for him, for both of them, but they knew this was something Nathan needed to handle on his own tonight. They waved goodbye, and with that, Nathan and YN walked inside.
The house was quiet—too quiet, in fact. His family was out of town, so the place felt emptier than usual. But that didn't matter. What mattered was that YN was safe now.
They made their way upstairs, and Nathan opened the door to his bedroom, letting her step inside. It wasn't much—just a bed, a desk, and a few posters on the walls—but to YN, it felt like a refuge. She glanced around, noticing how calm everything seemed. This room, his space, felt so much safer than the place they'd just left behind.
"Goodnight, boys," Nathan said over his shoulder to the Triplets as they disappeared down the hall. He shut the door behind them and turned to YN, giving her a soft smile.
"Do you want to take a bath?" he asked gently. His voice was filled with concern, but also a quiet tenderness. YN nodded her head, looking up at him with wide, trusting eyes.
"Yeah, I'd like that," she whispered, her voice small, but full of relief.
He took a deep breath, nodding. "Okay, I'll help you."
They walked to the bathroom together, and Nathan helped her undress slowly, making sure she was comfortable every step of the way. YN felt a little self-conscious, but she knew Nathan wasn't looking at her like everyone else had. He wasn't judging her. He was just... there for her. That was all she needed.
Once she was in the bath, Nathan stood by the edge of the tub, his hands hovering near her shoulders. "Let me help," he said, his voice soft. He gently ran the warm water over her, making sure she was relaxed, the warmth soaking into her tense muscles.
As he washed her hair, he noticed how delicate she was, how fragile she seemed—like someone who had been broken but was slowly beginning to heal. The way she closed her eyes and leaned into the touch, the way her body relaxed under his hands... it was all so intimate, so personal. He could feel the weight of everything she'd been through, but he also felt something else—an overwhelming need to protect her, to make sure she never felt this way again.
When she was done, he gave her a towel and helped her out of the bath, wrapping her up in it to keep her warm. He handed her a pair of his clothes—his hoodie and sweatpants—and she slipped them on, the fabric hanging a little loose on her frame.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Nathan asked, his voice low as he helped her back into the bedroom.
"I'm okay now," YN replied softly, looking up at him. "You've been so good to me."
Nathan smiled softly, his eyes gentle. "I'm not going anywhere, YN. I'll always be here for you."
He paused, his eyes scanning over her, the marks of her pain visible on her skin, but it didn't change how he felt. He stepped closer to her, his heart racing as he reached out to touch her face gently. "Can I clean your cuts?" he asked.
YN hesitated for only a moment before nodding, allowing him to gently take her hand and guide her to sit on the edge of the bed. He grabbed a first-aid kit from the drawer, the soft glow of the lamp illuminating their faces. He carefully tended to each cut, each bruise, his touch as gentle as he could manage. With each press of the bandage, he couldn't help but feel a deep ache in his chest, but he didn't say anything. He just wanted to make sure she was okay.
When he was done, he looked up at her, his eyes filled with nothing but care. "You're perfect," he whispered, as if it was a secret between the two of them.
YN smiled softly at him, and when Nathan stood to move away, she grabbed his wrist gently. "Can you hold me? Just... hold me, please."
He didn't need to be asked twice. Nathan crawled into bed beside her, pulling her close into his arms, his heart beating steadily. YN laid her head against his chest, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat comforting her.
"Thank you for being here," she whispered, her voice quiet but sincere.
Nathan's arms tightened around her. "I'll always be here," he whispered back. "Always."
The room grew quiet, and for a while, neither of them said anything. They just held each other, the weight of the day slowly lifting. Nathan could feel YN's body relaxing in his arms, the tension leaving her as she felt more and more secure.
Then, almost as a whisper, YN murmured, "Nathan... I love you."
Nathan's heart skipped a beat at her words. He gently pulled back just enough to look at her, his hand cupping her cheek. His lips hovered above hers, his breath warm on her face as he gazed into her eyes.
"I love you too, YN," he said, his voice thick with emotion. He leaned in and pressed a soft, gentle kiss to her lips—one that spoke of all the things they couldn't say yet, but would in time.
And with that, they both fell asleep, wrapped up in each other's arms, ready to face whatever came next, knowing they had each other.
The night passed in a quiet, peaceful lull. Nathan held YN close, feeling her body relax in his arms as she finally fell asleep. Her breathing became steady, a soft rhythm that reassured him she was at least getting some rest after everything she'd gone through. It wasn't much, but it was a start.
Nathan couldn't stop thinking about everything she had shared with him—about her mother, the pain she had been hiding for so long. He wanted to take all of it away for her, to erase the years of hurt and suffering. But for now, all he could do was hold her and make sure she felt safe. He promised himself he'd always be there for her.
His phone buzzed on the nightstand, the noise cutting through the silence of the room. He glanced down at it, seeing the name of the Triplets flash across the screen. Nathan quietly slid out of bed, careful not to wake YN, and picked up the phone.
"Hey, man, how's she doing?" Matt's voice came through, the worry in his tone unmistakable.
Nathan rubbed his eyes, sighing in relief. "She's fine. She's passed out, but she's safe. She's with me. She's okay."
Nick's voice could be heard faintly in the background, asking if YN was alright. Nathan smiled softly at the sound of their concern.
"Yeah, she's alright. She's asleep now," Nathan said, his voice calm but filled with emotion. "She just needed to rest after everything."
There was a pause before Chris spoke up, his voice quieter. "We're glad she's with you, man. She deserves peace. If you need anything, just call. We're here."
"Thanks, guys. I'll keep you posted. She's been through a lot, but she's not alone anymore. I'll make sure of that."
"Good," Matt said firmly. "We trust you."
Nathan smiled, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders as he heard the support in his friends' voices. "I'm gonna stay here with her tonight, just to make sure she's okay."
The conversation ended soon after, and Nathan set the phone down. He returned to the bedroom, his heart full of both relief and worry. He knew YN would need time to heal, but he also knew that she had him—she had all of them. The Triplets were always there for both of them, and that made all the difference.
He crawled back into bed beside her, careful not to disturb her as he wrapped his arms around her again. YN stirred slightly, but her body quickly relaxed back into sleep, her head resting on his chest.
Nathan kissed the top of her head softly, whispering, "You're safe now, YN. I won't let anything hurt you."
He closed his eyes, allowing the weight of the day to lift, knowing that tomorrow would be another step forward. One step at a time.
