Location: Boston Highschool

Age: 17,17

It was a crisp, early morning at Boston High School. The hockey team had an early game, and Yn was there to support them, as always. She wasn't loud, she didn't make a scene, but she was always there for her friends, and especially for Matt, her boyfriend.

Yn had always been a quiet person. She suffered from anxiety and had trouble speaking up in front of others, but that didn't stop her from being there for the people she loved. Her three best friends—Nick, Matt, Chris (the triplets), and Nathan—were always by her side. They were protective of her, and Matt, in particular, had always been a bit over the top. Since they started dating at fifteen, he made sure that no one ever hurt her or made her cry.

Yn walked down the hall toward the locker room, her footsteps soft and quick. She could hear the sounds of the boys talking and joking inside. With a deep breath, she pushed the door open and walked in, giving a small wave as she saw Chris, Matt, and Nathan.

"Hey, guys!" Yn said in her quiet, cute voice, her cheeks flushing slightly from the attention.

"Yn!" Chris and Nathan grinned at her as she walked over to give them both hugs.

"Good luck out there," she said to both of them, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Thanks, Yn," Nathan said, ruffling her hair affectionately.

Then she turned to Matt, her boyfriend, and the one who always made her heart race.

She reached up to kiss him on the cheek, whispering, "I hope you get a goal."

Matt's eyes softened, and he pulled her into a longer kiss, the kind that always made her heart skip a beat. "Thanks, baby," he murmured against her lips, his voice low and full of affection.

Yn pulled away, smiling up at him. "Good luck," she repeated softly before turning to leave.

As she walked toward the door, she could hear Chris and Nathan teasing Matt.

"Look at him, he's blushing," Chris teased with a chuckle.

"You're so whipped, Matt," Nathan added with a smirk, nudging Matt's shoulder. "She's adorable, though."

Matt rolled his eyes, though a grin tugged at his lips. He didn't mind the teasing—he knew they were just messing around. But then, a voice from across the room interrupted the playful moment.

"Ugh, she's so weird," one of the random guys from the hockey team said, his tone dripping with disdain. "She doesn't talk, and she's not even that good-looking. What's so special about her?"

Matt's expression darkened in an instant. His fists clenched by his sides, his protective instincts kicking in. He could feel the anger bubbling inside him, but before he could do anything, Chris and Nathan stepped in front of him.

"Matt, don't," Chris said firmly, his voice calm but insistent. "Don't waste your time on him."

"Yeah, man," Nathan added. "He's just trying to get a reaction out of you. Ignore him."

But Matt wasn't having it. He stepped forward, his eyes flashing. "No one talks about her like that."

Yn, hearing the comment, paused in the doorway. She was used to people being rude about her, but hearing someone say it out loud still made her chest tighten. She wasn't the kind of person to start drama, but the words stung more than she liked to admit.

Before Matt could go any further, Chris grabbed his arm. "Matt, come on," he said in a tone that left no room for argument. "Let it go. You've got a game to play. Don't let some idiot ruin it."

Matt hesitated, but after a moment, he exhaled, his anger simmering down. He looked back at Yn, his gaze softening when their eyes met. "I'm sorry, baby," he said quietly.

Yn smiled weakly, stepping back toward him. "It's okay. I'm used to it."

Matt shook his head, his brow furrowing in frustration. "I hate when people talk about you like that."

"I know," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "But it's not worth it."

He gave her a small smile, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. "Just promise me you won't let anyone talk to you like that again," he said seriously.

"I promise," she replied, her voice firm despite the lingering doubt in her heart. She wasn't sure if she could really stop people from saying things, but she would always have Matt by her side to make sure she didn't have to deal with it alone.

As Matt turned to head out to the rink with the rest of the team, Chris and Nathan followed behind, but not before sending one last playful wink at him. "Don't worry, bro. We've got your back."

Yn watched them leave, her heart swelling with gratitude. She was lucky to have Matt and his friends in her life, even if sometimes they were a little too overprotective.

But then again, she wouldn't have it any other way.

Yn made her way to the stands, trying her best to shake off the lingering discomfort from the earlier incident. She found an empty seat next to Nick, who was already sitting with his hands folded over his lap, watching the rest of the team warm up.

"Hey, girl," Nick said, turning his head as she sat down next to him. His expression softened when he saw the look on her face. "You okay?"

Yn gave him a small smile, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine," she replied quietly, her voice betraying the uncertainty she felt.

Nick narrowed his eyes, clearly not buying it. "Come on, what happened?" he asked, leaning in slightly. He had been friends with Yn long enough to know when something was bothering her, even when she didn't want to talk about it.

Yn hesitated for a moment, looking out at the ice rink where Matt was skating with the rest of the team. The sound of the skates against the ice was oddly comforting, but it couldn't drown out the sting of the words she'd heard just a little while ago.

She let out a quiet sigh before turning to Nick. "Someone from the team said something... not so nice about me," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.

Nick's brows furrowed immediately. "What did they say?"

"They... said I was weird, that I don't talk enough, and that I wasn't even good-looking." Yn's voice cracked at the end, though she quickly tried to hide it behind a forced calmness.

Nick's face darkened, his fists tightening around the railing in front of them. "Who said that?" His tone was sharp, anger flaring in his eyes.

Yn reached out, placing a hand on his arm to calm him down. "Nick, it's okay," she said softly. "Matt heard it, but Chris and Nathan told him to ignore it. It's fine."

Nick shook his head, though the tension in his jaw was obvious. "It's not fine. No one talks about you like that, Yn. No one. I don't care who they are."

She gave him a small, appreciative smile, grateful for his protective instincts. "I know you care, and I know Matt cares too," she said. "But I just don't want to make a big deal out of it. It's not worth it."

Nick didn't respond right away, his eyes still fixed on the ice where the boys were skating, but his mind was clearly elsewhere. He finally spoke up, his voice quieter than usual. "You know, sometimes people don't understand you because you're not like everyone else. You're... different. In the best way possible."

Yn glanced at him, slightly surprised by his words. "Different?" she repeated, feeling a bit self-conscious.

"Yeah," he nodded. "You're quiet, you don't need to shout to be noticed. People talk, they don't get it. But that's not your problem. And the people who matter—the ones who really care—will always see how amazing you are."

Her heart warmed at his words, though she still felt the sting of the earlier comments. She glanced over at Matt, who was busy stretching and getting ready for the game. His focus was solely on the game, but she could see the small, lingering glances he was casting her way whenever he had a moment.

"I know," she whispered, her gaze softening. "I just wish people wouldn't say things like that. I'm trying my best to be okay with everything, but sometimes it just... it hurts."

Nick sighed, resting his hand on her shoulder in a comforting gesture. "You don't have to be okay with everything, Yn. You're allowed to feel hurt, to feel upset. But don't let anyone tell you who you are or how you should be. You're perfect just the way you are."

She smiled at him, feeling her chest loosen a little with his reassurance. "Thanks, Nick. I don't know what I'd do without you guys."

Nick grinned, nudging her with his shoulder. "Probably get through it just fine, knowing you. But I'm glad I'm here anyway."

Yn chuckled softly, her mood lifting just a bit. She looked back at Matt, who had noticed her and was now giving her a soft smile, his eyes full of affection. She waved at him, and he gave a small nod in return, as if silently reassuring her that everything was going to be okay.

"Alright, enough about me," she said, trying to change the subject. "How are you holding up, Nick? You're usually the calm one when things get crazy."

Nick's grin grew wider. "Oh, you know, just getting ready to cheer on my favorite team. They need me to keep them grounded." He winked at her, making her laugh again.

They sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, watching the team get ready for the game. Despite the tension earlier, Yn felt a sense of peace settle over her. She knew that with Matt, Nick, and the rest of her friends by her side, she didn't have to face the world alone.

And for once, she believed that maybe everything would be okay.

The arena lights dimmed, and the excited buzz of the crowd filled the air as the game began. The stands were packed, and Yn, sitting next to Nick, could feel her heart race. She wasn't just here to support the team—she was here for Matt, the boy who always made her feel like she was the most important person in the world.

The game was intense, and the crowd cheered loudly as the teams skated across the ice. Yn clapped enthusiastically as the puck was passed between players, her eyes scanning the rink for any sign of Matt. She could feel Nick beside her, just as invested in the game as she was.

"Come on, Matt!" Yn cheered, her voice barely above a whisper, but full of affection.

Nick grinned at her, nudging her shoulder. "I think he heard you."

Yn laughed softly, her eyes following Matt as he skated across the rink. She could see his focus, the way his movements were smooth and precise. He had always been a star player, and today was no different.

Suddenly, the puck flew towards Matt as he darted into position. The goalie was in place, but Matt didn't hesitate. With one smooth motion, he took the shot, and the puck sailed through the air, hitting the back of the net with a satisfying thud.

The crowd erupted into cheers as Matt raised his stick in the air, his teammates rushing to congratulate him. Yn stood up, clapping loudly, her heart swelling with pride. Nick joined in, giving her a playful grin as they both cheered together.

"That's my boy!" Nick shouted, his voice full of energy. "Matt never misses!"

Yn smiled, watching as Matt skated toward their side of the rink. He was grinning from ear to ear, his eyes scanning the stands. When his gaze met hers, he gave her a subtle wink, his eyes sparkling with mischief and affection.

Yn's cheeks flushed, and she couldn't help but smile back, her heart fluttering in her chest. She felt an overwhelming sense of warmth, as if the whole world had paused just for that moment. It was just a wink, but it meant the world to her. It was his way of saying, I did this for you.

"Looks like Matt's in a good mood," Nick teased, nudging her again. "You gonna go give him a kiss after the game?"

Yn rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress the grin tugging at her lips. "Maybe," she replied playfully, her gaze never leaving Matt as he skated back into position.

Matt's team quickly regained possession of the puck, and the game continued at a fast pace. But for Yn, it was hard to focus on anything other than Matt's goal and the wink he had given her. Her heart was still racing from the thrill of it all.

Nick leaned back in his seat, stretching his arms out. "You know," he said casually, "he's gonna be insufferable after this game. His ego is already big enough."

Yn laughed, shaking her head. "I can handle it. Besides, I think he deserves to be a little cocky after that goal."

Nick raised an eyebrow. "That's what you think? Watch out. I'm betting Matt's gonna get all smug about it now."

Yn couldn't help but laugh at Nick's prediction. But as the game continued, she couldn't ignore the sense of pride that filled her every time Matt touched the puck. There was something about watching him on the ice, doing what he loved, that made her feel even more connected to him.

As the game neared its end and Matt's team pulled ahead, Yn leaned back in her seat, her thoughts still on him.

"I think we're gonna win," she said, her voice full of excitement.

"Yeah, looks like it," Nick replied, his attention now entirely on the game. "And when Matt scores that second goal, you better be ready for the show he's gonna put on."

Yn chuckled, shaking her head again. "I don't know if I can handle his ego after that."

But deep down, she wouldn't have it any other way. Matt was always protective, always caring, and that goal was just another reminder of why she loved him. She didn't care about the teasing or the jokes—she was proud of him, and that was all that mattered.

The game had ended, and the arena was buzzing with excitement. The home team had secured a well-earned victory, and the crowd slowly began to empty out. Yn couldn't wait to see Matt—she had been waiting for this moment since the final whistle blew. Her heart still raced from the thrill of watching him score that amazing goal, but now, all she could think about was running to him, congratulating him, and sharing in the joy of his victory.

She stood outside the locker room, pacing slightly, her eyes scanning for any sign of him. Her heart thudded with anticipation, and her hands fidgeted in her jacket pockets. It wasn't long before the locker room door swung open, and Matt walked out, laughing with his teammates, his hockey gear still on.

The moment their eyes met, everything else around her seemed to fade away. She didn't even think—she just ran.

"Matt!" Yn called out, her voice filled with excitement.

Matt, hearing her before he saw her, turned just in time to see her sprinting toward him. With a grin, he opened his arms wide. Yn launched herself into his embrace, and he caught her easily, lifting her off the ground as she wrapped her arms around his neck, giggling.

"Careful!" Matt teased, his grin never fading. "You're gonna knock me over."

But Yn didn't care. All that mattered was the warmth of his arms around her, the feeling of being so close to him.

"You were amazing!" she exclaimed, pulling back slightly to look at him, her eyes shining with admiration. "That goal was incredible, Matt. You were on fire!"

Matt chuckled, the pride in his eyes matching hers. "I had to show off for my girl," he said, his voice teasing but filled with affection. "Wasn't gonna let anyone else steal the spotlight."

Yn smiled, her heart swelling at his words. "I'm so proud of you," she said softly. "You played so well."

Matt's expression softened, and he lowered her slowly to the ground, keeping his hands on her waist. He leaned in close, his forehead gently touching hers. "I only do it for you," he murmured, his voice low and intimate.

Yn smiled, feeling her heart flutter at the words. There was no one else in the world who made her feel this way—so loved, so special.

"You're the best," she whispered, looking up at him, her hands resting on his chest.

Matt grinned, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. "And don't you forget it," he said with a wink.

Yn laughed, shaking her head. "I could never forget."

Just as they were sharing that quiet, intimate moment, Chris, Nathan, and the rest of the team began spilling out of the locker room, playfully shoving each other and talking loudly.

"You two are sickeningly cute, you know that?" Chris called out, making a face. "Save the sappy stuff for later."

Matt chuckled, rolling his eyes. "We're celebrating. Deal with it."

Yn giggled softly, glancing at Chris. "You know, you're just jealous because Matt's the star," she teased, nudging him.

Chris raised an eyebrow. "Oh, I'm not jealous. But seeing you two makes me sick," he replied, grinning. "Go on and enjoy your moment, lovebirds."

Nathan laughed, slapping Matt on the back. "Congrats, man. You killed it out there," he said, offering Matt a fist bump.

"Thanks, Nate," Matt said, returning the fist bump. "But this one's all about Yn." He wrapped his arm around Yn's waist, pulling her close.

Yn smiled up at him, her heart full. This was where she belonged—right here, in his arms, surrounded by her friends who cared about her. And as Matt continued to tease Chris and Nathan, Yn knew she was the luckiest girl in the world.
