Chapter 9

(Keanu's POV)

He did it again. I can't believe she ever took him back. He was jealous and insecure the first time and he certainly was jealous and insecure the second time.

She saw me.

"I'm sorry.. I followed you because I was worried he was gonna hurt you. I didn't mean to hear what he just said.." I explained

She's crying, the sight of her broke my heart. She ran to me and hugged me tight.

"You don't have to be sorry.. I was an idiot for taking him back. I was a fool to think I can change a man like him."

"You're not an idiot, Sandy.. That's just who you are, you have faith in people, you believe that they can change.. It's his lost, Sandy.. You have the most beautiful mind and the kindest heart ever.." I guess I got a little carried away.

"Thanks, Keanu but you don't have to say that.."

(Sandy's POV)

Keanu and I decided to be friends which was unbelievably easy despite our history. He just gets me and I feel like I don't have to try when I'm with him..

We celebrated our 30th birthdays together, spent thanksgiving and Christmas together and threw a New Year's bash inviting 30 of our closest friends including Nicole and Tom, George, Charlize..

"Sandy, what are you doing to yourself?" Nicole approached me during our New Year's Eve party.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, what is it with you and Keanu and your parties? What is going on?"

Oh Nic, ever the skeptic one; she always has a way of making me rethink my decisions and I love that she looks out for me but really,

"Nothing, Keanu and I are just two friends hanging out and having fun." I insisted.

She broke out into a huge laugh.

"Sandy, you like him and he likes you too.. It's too obvious! You're not fooling me." and then she smirked. Ugh.

"Well-played, Kidman. Gosh! I hate that you know me too damn well!"
