Edward was sitting on the couch, he could not help but think about Kylie and JAY asked, "Sir are you ready to get back to work?"

 Edward shook his head as if snapping out of a trance and replied to JAY's question, "Yeah."

 Edward looked at a picture showing him and his mother Michelle when he was about 12. Sarah covers Edward on his shoulders and she kisses him on the side of his face.

"Hi," Sarah said.

  "How were you holding up without me?" Edward asked with a small smile.

"I got to get some work done. I missed you very much." Sarah replied.

Edward grabbed Sarah's hands, blew his warm breath, and gently kissed them.

"Same here. " Edward stated, and the pair shared a kiss.

 Alberto and Mark came inside and Alberto paused when he witnessed the couple kiss. "Just when I thought how awkward it was to walk on you two kissing." He stated a tad bit envious of the two.

 The two stopped their kiss, Sarah chuckled lightly, and said, "Well get used to it pal."

 "Edward, have you spoken to Kylie?" Mark inquired very concerned regarding his girlfriend's whereabouts.

 Edward suddenly got nervous after what Mark asked him.

"Wha?... N-No... I... I haven't spoken to her in a while." Edward stammered due to his nerves and guilt killing him.

"Oh, okay then," Mark stated.

Mark's phone beeped, and he took it out of his pocket, it was a message from Kylie that stated " Can we meet up at the coffee shop?" Mark's face lit up with excitement that Kylie was back in town, and Alberto noticed Mark's expression.

"What's up?" Alberto asked curiously.

  "Kylie's back," Mark replied.

Edward's heart began to race as fast as F1 cars, and he took a seat in order to calm himself. Sarah noticed Edward's reaction, and it kind off concerned her.

"What's up?" She whispered.

"Nothing," Edward replied lying.

An Hour Later

Tierra Mia Coffee shop

Kylie was sitting on the table there was a plastic cup filled with coffee, Mark walked inside and said, "Hi."

"Hi," Kylie stated.

Mark tried to kiss her but she immediately blocked and Mark could tell something was happening with Kylie.

 "Kylie, what's up?" Mark asked and he took his seat.

"Nothing," Kylie replied as she batted her eyes a couple of times.

 Mark could tell he was being lied to because of how frequently she batted her eyes and he asked, "Kylie what's going on with you?"

"Please promise me, you will not freak out," Kylie stated, and he nodded to show that he did promise not to freak out.

"Edward joined me on the vacation," Kylie stated.

Mark chuckled a little, Kylie gave him a confused expression, and this was because he felt at ease that at least Kylie was under the protection of the man who could run faster than the speed of sound.

"Ooh, so that's what you wanted to tell me... It's not something that I'd freak out on." He stated.

Mark gazed back at Kylie, he gazed into her hazel eyes, but for some reason, her eyes couldn't meet him because of what happened, and Mark noticed this.

"Is there something, else?" Mark inquired in a low tone.

 Kylie couldn't find the courage to tell Mark, 'cause she felt really bad about what had transpired between her and Edward, Mark stretched his hands towards hers, and the two's hands interlocked.

"KY, you can tell me anything, alright?" Mark stated with assurance.

"Edward and I... W-W-We kissed!" Kylie stated under her shaking breath.

Mark's eyes ballooned, he was suddenly filled with rage, and he abruptly stood up from his chair and rushed for the exit.

30 minutes later

The Phoenix Foundation Of Justice

Level 100

Mark walked inside fuming, he scanned the room for a while for his target, and Alberto appeared from the entrance.

"You back? How's K..." Alberto started to say.

"Where's Edward?" Mark inquired as tranquil as he could be to appear like he wasn't about to erupt.

"He's by the training section," Alberto replied to Mark's question.

Mark nodded, but as fate would have it, Edward sped inside with Sarah, he placed her on the ground, Mark clenched his open palm into a fist, approached Edward, and tapped the latter's shoulder.

"Hmm?" Edward stated as he turned his attention from Sarah to Mark, but unfortunately even with his superhuman reflexes he couldn't dodge what was about to happen, and he got sent to the floor by a right hook from Mark.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! What the heck Mark?" Alberto inquired as he rushed towards the two, and he stood in the middle to help alleviate the situation between the two.

"Why the hell would you punch him?" Sarah asked very infuriated that Mark laid hands on her boyfriend.

"Are you gonna tell 'em or should I?" Mark inquired.

Edward gazed at the floor in shame and guilt, and Sarah gazed at Edward looking for answers.

"Tell us what?" Sarah asked confused as to what Mark was talking about.

Edward couldn't face his friends after what he did, especially Sarah, he opted for silence, and Mark scoffed.

"I guess you aren't man enough to tell them what you did, huh? Alright then, Edward here kissed Kylie." Mark blurted out.

Alberto placed his hands around his face in frustration.

"Edward." Alberto mouthed.

"Is this true?" Sarah inquired.

 Edward hesitated to answer for a brief moment but he knew that there was no way that he could deny, and he gazed at Sarah.

"Yes. Yes, it's true." He replied with pain in his eyes.

 Sarah tried to walk away, but Edward grabbed her hand before she could even turn, and she faced him with her eyes lit up like comets in the night sky.

"I'm s... I'm so sorry." Edward apologized with tears streaming down her face.

 Sarah's eyes produced tears, she simply broke free of his grasp, she walked away, and as she did that Edward slowed her moving in slow-motion, but in
reality she quickly ran out of the room.

Mark gazed at the suit that Edward uses as The Speedster, he gazed at Edward with disgust, and he spat on the ground.

"You don't deserve to wear that! You hear me, Edward Justin?!!! You're not a hero!" Mark exclaimed in revulsion at the mere sight of Edward.

Mark walked out leaving Alberto and Edward, Edward stood up from the ground, he gazed at Alberto, Alberto shook his head in disappointment with his friend's actions, he knew that Edward fostered romantic feelings for Kylie but he didn't think that Edward would act like this, and he walked away leaving Edward all alone.

Tierra Mia Coffee

Kylie walked out of the coffee shop, she was about to take a turn but she was wooshed away by a red blur.

An Hour Later

Alberto walked inside, he found Edward all alone, and the latter just stared at the Speedster suit in melancholy.

"Hey," Alberto said.

Edward gazed back, he saw Alberto, and he used his hands to greet Al.

"You good?" Alberto inquired.

"Yea... No, I'm not okay. I mean both of my friends hate me, and I've been tryna call Kylie... She ain't picking up hermano." Edward replied with a tone that suggested that he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.

" I don't like what you did but, I agree with you," Alberto stated.

 "What do you mean?" Edward asked very confused.

"I know how much you love Kylie. Dude, your face lights up

 Edward would ask, "What do you suggest I do?"

Alberto replied by saying, "I think you have to let her go for both your sake and Mark and Sarah's sake."

Edward swallowed a hard lump and tears stung his eyes.
"You're right." He said as much as it was painful.

Alberto typed on the cyber desk and his eyes widened.
"Oh crap!" He exclaimed.

"What?" Edward inquired.

"The satellite just detected tachyons near Tierra Mai," Alberto replied.

"Ezra," Edward stated with wonder in his eyes.

"I must have accidentally set the tachyon scanner alert to mute," Alberto said as he continued typing on the desk.

"JAY, hack Tierra Mai's security cams," Edward ordered.

Jay(A.I) would say "Affirmative."
The computer showcased JAY hacking through the shop's security systems at a very quick pace.

"I've completed my task, sir," JAY stated.

A holographic screen appeared and Edward saw a red blur woosh Kylie out of the coffee shop.
Edward placed his hand on his mouth in shock and Alberto's eyes widened because he was experiencing the same feeling that Edward experienced.

"I've gotta find Quick," Edward stated with urgency in his voice.

"Let's hack through everything in the city?" Alberto suggested.

"Yeah," Edward said in response to the suggestion.

Somewhere in Los Angeles

Abandoned warehouse

Kylie woke up and found herself tied with chains on her hands. "Welcome Ms. Jones," Quick said.

Kylie would ask as she tried to free herself from the chains that shackled her hands, "What do you want from me?"

Quick would say "I've read a lot about you on this thing you call the internet..."

"So?" Kylie inquired as a way to act defiant.

"...And also I've watched you meet that lowly speedster," Quick concluded.

Kylie's eyes shot wide open in shock that someone... Especially Quick found out about her secret meetings with Edward, "What are you talking about?" Kylie asked playing dumb.

Quick had a menacing grin on his face and he said, "Speedsters can feel each other's vibrations throughout time and I once saw you two speaking at a beach in a place called Malibu."

Kylie's facial expression changed and Quick would say, "Well I wonder why he hasn't revealed his identity to you."

Kylie would ask "What do you know about him?"

Quick would say, "It doesn't matter. What matters is that you must be precious to him. Like a pet of sorts."

A couple of Hours Later

The Phoenix Foundation Of Justice

Level 100

Edward was scanning for Kylie around the city using the Phoenix's satellite and Alberto said, "I can't locate her phone."

Edward punched the table in anger and said, "This is all my fault if I hadn't appeared to Kylie none of this would have happened if I never appeared to Kylie as The Speedster."

Mark stood at the entrance of the room, Alberto looked at Mark, and he raised his hands slightly as a way to show surrender. Mark simply nodded, and inquired, "What do you guys mean that Quick has Kylie?"

"He kidnapped her outside of Tierra Mai," Alberto replied.

"This is all my fault..." Mark started to say.

"No, it's mine. If I hadn't done what I did then, you wouldn't have left her all alone." Edward stated as he cut Mark off.

"Track for those tachyon thingies that you guys are always rambling about?" Mark suggested.

"That could work." Alberto stated.

Just as Alberto was about to turn his attention to the cyberdesk, but a flash of orange lightning streaked beside him, and Edward said, "I'll be quick."

He began typing at superspeed, as Mark and Alberto watched.

"There's a high concentration of tachyonic particles at an abandoned warehouse South West of LA." Edward stated.

"Edward, you better bring her back home." Mark stated sternly.

"I will." Edward stated, and he zoomed away after changing into his crime-fighting gear very fast.

Abandoned warehouse

"What did you mean when you said that he... He cares about me?" Kylie inquired.

Quick looked back at Kylie with wonder, and he chuckled softly before saying, "Well he cares about you, like some sort of p... No, no, no, he loves you."

 Quick took out his dagger that was made out of carbon metal, and he licked the tip of his dagger. Kylie turned away from Quick as he licked his blade in revulsion.

"I wonder, what will be of your friend after I decide to end your puny existence?" Quick inquired with a finger placed on his upper lip. Kylie fidgeted frantically trying to escape from her predicament, Quick turned back for a while, smirked for a moment, and he zoomed so fast that Kylie didn't know what hit her until it was too late.

Kylie gazed at her stomach, she saw a red stain forming on her shirt, she gazed back at Quick in horror, and a sadistic smile formed on the latter's lips.

Edward rushed inside, he stopped dead in his tracks, when Quick forcefully removed his dagger from Kylie's stomach, and she groaned in pain, "GAH!!!"

"Too late." Quick stated as he smirked back at our hero.

Edward's heart began beating very violently, his breathing increased, he stared at Kylie who suffered on the ground painfully, and the echoes of Quick's laughter rung inside his ears like a very bad drum.

"You lil!.." Edward stated as he rushed towards Ezra.

Ezra side-stepped Edward, but Edward came back with a wicked right-hook. Edward and Ezra zoomed all around the vicinity, Kylie witnessed brilliant sparks of orange and red light  as she gagged blood out of her mouth, and Edward eventually grabbed Ezra by the collar. He unleashed a barrage of punches on Ezra.

"You think you gonna kill her, huh?" Edward inquired with rage coming out of his pores.

Edward continued his relentless assault on Quick, he gave him multiple judo throws, and JAY's yellow lenses appeared.

"Sir..." JAY called out, but Edward was too angry to even respond to JAY.

Edward continued dishing out punishment to Ezra.

"...Sir, it's Kylie! She needs your help, otherwise you might lose her." JAY concluded.

Edward regained his senses after hearing that Kylie was in danger, he proceeded to leave Ezra, he rushed towards Kylie, and he said gently as he lifted her up to his shoulders, "Kylie... I'm sorry." He zoomed away with her.

Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles CA

The Speedster wooshed Kylie in a gurney and said "I need help..."

 A couple of doctors took Kylie and said, "Get the Intensive Care Unit ready for Kylie Jones." As the doctors began wheeling Kylie away into the ICU for surgery, there was a fleeting moment when the two's fingers slipped away from each other, and maybe it was Edward's powers but it all happend very slow. He zoomed away.

3 HRS Later

Edward was at the hospital wearing his casual clothing and he asked the doctor, "How is she?"

 "Sorry sir, who are you if I may ask?" the doctor inquired.

"Oh sorry, my name's Edward Justin. I'm a friend of Kylie Jones." Edward replied.

The two shook hands.

"Well Mr. Justin, it's been an hour since surgery. Whatever stabbed her caused some damage to her skin but she'll be okay, and we manage to remove some shards inside her." the doctor stated.

Edward sighed in relief, and he inquired, "Can I see her?"

"Yes, of course." the doctor replied.

Ward 22B

Edward walked inside and he saw Kylie who was a bit dazed, most probably from the anesthesia. She smiled when she saw Edward as the first face she saw when she almost died.

"How are you?" Edward inquired.

 "Good-ish." Kylie replied.

Edward walked towards her, he gently traced his fingers around her face, she found it very comforting, and he wanted to kiss her forehead, but he knew that he caused a lot of damage for one day.

"How did you know I was here?" She inquired.

"W-Well, I have my ways." He replied.

"Oh please, Ima find out sooner or later." She stated.

The two shared a chuckle, but Kylie quickly clutched at her stomach, and he inquired, "You okay?"

"Please, don't make me laugh." She stated.

"Okay." He mouthed to her. He cleared his throat after a silence, and he said, "I called Mark, uhm... He should be here any minute."

"Oh?" She simply said

"I'm sorry to do this to you... Especially now... KY I-I-I can't be near you right now... It's my fault that you and Mark had a fight and I broke Sarah's heart... I've done too much damage." Edward stated with his heart bleeding, but he understood that it had to be done for everyone's sake and especially his and Kylie's.

 "I guess... Uhm... I guess I'll see you around." She said with her voice trembling.

"Yeah." He said, and he gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead. Edward walked out of the ward, and small droplets of liquid streamed down her face, and a streak of orange lightning zoomed beside her.

"Kylie, are you okay?" The Speedster inquired with his vocal chords vibrating at superspeed.

"Thanks for saving me." Kylie said as she sat up straight and she wiped her tears.

"You shouldn't have needed saving today. It's my fault... I led Quick to you..." The Speedster started to say.

"You can't. And you won't, I just lost my best friend and now... Will you please be there whenever I need you?" Kylie asked very heartbroken.

 "For you anything." He said and he zoomed away.

Mark rushed inside and he said, 'Kylie..."

Mark gave her a very tight hug, and she kinda groaned a bit. Mark released her from his grip, he gazed inside her hazel eyes, and he began to imagine how he's life would be without her... UNIMAGINABLE!!!

"Don't scare me like that babe." He said very glad that she was alive.

"Don't worry I've got a guardian angel." Kylie said with a bit of sarcasm, but she was also very glad to see Mark.

"I'm sorry for how I reacted..." Mark started to apologize.

"No, no. I'm the one who should be apologizing. I'm terribly sorry for the kiss. I love you Mark, you hear me? I choose you, not Edward." Kylie apologized and made her intentions clear as to who she's choosing in this love triangle of her, Mark, and Edward.

"Okay." Mark said softly, and they shared a kiss on the lips.

Later That Night

Edward found Sarah sitting all alone, he cleared his throat, and this made Sarah notice him. He walked towards, and he took a seat beside her.

"Al says... Al says that you want us to talk?" He inquired nervously.

"Yes." Sarah replied.

Edward swallowed a hard lump, he could not even look her in the eyes because of the pain that he witnessed in them, and he inquired, "Can I say something first?"

"Shoot." Sarah replied.

"I'm sorry for everything I've done. I put... I put my selfish desire above everyone else... Above Kylie and Mark's relationship, above the team, above the city, and most importantly above your feelings. I'm truly sorry about that, and I hope that we can move past this." Edward stated with every ounce of remorse he could muster.

 Sarah lifted Edward's chin using her hands, she made him stare into her eyes, and this was because as much as she was was upset with him, she couldn't find it in herself to be resentful of him. She gave him a peck on the cheek.

"Edward I want to ask you a question, and you'd better be honest not just to me but yourself also." Sarah stated.

Edward nodded, and she asked, "All those times we were together... D-Did you... Were you thinking about Kylie?"

 Edward didn't want to answer her question, but he was tired of fooling himself and everyone.

"Yes." He responded very hurt that he couldn't give Sarah the answer that she wanted to hear.

 Sarah stood up, and she wiped her eyes a bit.

"Edward... I'm sorry but you and I we're done." She said with pain, and she walked away leaving Edward all... ALL ALONE!!!
